it's not even worth showing, it's just a lego head with a block strap over the top and sides, I just got to the stage where I realized it flat out wasn't going to work.

i would still like to see it ;p

Well my idea of making a custom bane minifigure mask were shot down in flames.

After a night of fucking around trying to track down some consistent schematics of a lego minifigure head so I could model it in maya I finally modelled one up and started to rough out the shape of the mask to sit over the minifig head.

To make sure the stud on top of the head is covered and thick enough to be strong the mask looks ridiculous, it's super wide and thick on top and thin on the front\sides\back. It looks like some sort of freaky mohawk.

Oh well, back to my original plan A of waterslide decals.

considered a bottom-anchored mask? So it sits below the head like the cowboy's bandana.

for prototyping, couldn't you cover a donor minifig head in a thin layer of that air-drying clay, and sculpt it? or some kind of malleable plastic?

I was in a lego store the other day, but the UCS falcon cockblocked my wallet. I spent $900 on that, and I'm still not done yet. They didn't have any of the mystery minifigs either, which I thought was weird.

I'm gonna get the space shuttle or one of the pirate ships next. I'd love the modular buildings, but that's a dangerous road to go down.

DO IT! Give yourself to the Dark Side! We have cookies!

Just picked up the Captain America motorcycle set at Target. Going to wait for the Lego.com promo to get the Hulk set, then I think I am done with Avengers sets. Well, maybe the Loki Cosmic Cube escape after that.

You mean the promo for the Hulk mini-fig that begins in mid-may? If so, is Lego pretty strict with those promos? Like the Helicarrier set with the huge Hulk is $49.99, will I have to buy another item to get over $50.00 in order to qualify for the mini-fig?

Dunno how strict they are. If it won't take I will just add a mini fig or maybe a lil pick a brick. Still debating if I am going to order anything for the may 4th promo. Not caring about the figure then, but there is a chance apparently they will have free shipping, so that weekend is when I order R2.

Went out to get a haircut tonight and decided to scope out the nearby Walmart's Lego section afterwards. It was mainly made up of Star Wars & City sets, none of the Avengers and only two Batman sets. I noticed that they had two of the older T-6 Jedi Shuttles (#7931) mixed in with the newer Tie Fighters.

So on a whim I scanned one and it appeared for $30.00! That's 50% off the msrp! I'm not a big fan of the CW sets (except for the republic trooper based ones), but I couldn't pass up the deal!

Also picked up one of the mini CW star destroyers too. Mini sets are always cool.

Received my Fire Brigade yesterday and waiting for the evening to start building it with the son. I love the detailed box showing all the small details of complete build :)

it always depends on the clerk you get.
when I got the modular fire brigade 2 weeks ago I asked if there was a chance of getting the promotional tie fighter even though it was not a star wars purchase,
he said no.
i thought ok
then his colleague left the till and
he leaned down and passed me one saying that was his supervisor
I said, no one will ever know,

and now im telling you :p

They should just sell the Deadpool mini figure head on its own. It is the single greatest mini figure piece ever. So much potential.

Deadpool makes everything better!!

I finished my MOC modular.

I'll be making a few color changes to it, like the awning, the red/dark red bricks, and cutting down on the grey in between the floor's, but the structure is finished.

Now I'm debating if I'll add the third floor or not, it's nearly the sames height as the pet shop as it stands, if I add another floor the roof will make it tower over everything else.

I highly recommend creating your own lego set, there's just something intangibly awesome about the whole process.

I realised I never posted picture of the Tantive IV, part of the great import from amazon.com a month or two ago.

Import duty deposit was also returned, so the price was less than it was ever available for from amazon.co.uk, even before the out of print price hike!

So I have like £45 left of my own "spendable" money before I hit my student loan and have to spend it sensibly again. Looks like I'll be picking up some LEGO today.

Lego 10226 Sopwith Camel

Price $99.99

Relive a classic era of aviation history with the Sopwith Camel biplane. This set lets you recreate a detailed replica of one of the most recognizable British single-seat biplanes ever to have graced the skies. Features include a realistic rotating propeller and engine cylinders, a hinged tail rudder, realistic tension wires, functioning wing ailerons and tail flaps that can be controlled from the cockpit.

LEGO Creator Sopwith Camel
• Detailed replica
• Rotating propeller and engine cylinders
• Hinged tail rudder
• Functioning wing ailerons
• Tail flaps can be controlled from cockpit
• 883 pcs
• June 2012

It's 883 pieces so it shouldn't be too expensive either!
If that moving rudder thing is true it means they are indeed using those strings to do it.

The rudder is movable, but I think the tail flaps are controllable from the cockpit... you can see the string at the tail in the image.

Price is either $90 or $100, as I have heard both.

Yeah, I noticed the strings on the tail flaps. It seems to be the same for the wings as well if I'm interpreting this right. $90 seems like a good price for this model though I'd probably go for $100 too.

yeah, wings look to have the strings go around a pulley type thing at the front. And the description says 'working' ailerons.

Probably enough room for some PF fun too.

Midi-Falcon done. Great little build, pictured here next to my newly acquired Daredevil for scale.

I've never seen that midi stuff here. Is it not in the states?

As far as I can see the Falcon and Star Destroyer are the only 2 midi scale Star Wars sets, and it looks like the Star Destroyer is out of print now?

Last I looked, Bricklink had the Star Destroyer for around $30. I like the design a lot.

It's on there for like $25 but I'm in the UK and the cheapest I can see it for is £100 on bricklink. I saw it on Amazon for £30 though...

What is with the first two parts of the awning looking like postage letters?

Also, could you show pictures of the MOC from other angles, like the sides. Perhaps a floor by floor breakdown? I liked seeing the Lego Digital Designer pics, but would love to see the real life pics of it broken down.

I love these pics, please keep them up!

Thank you. Perhaps I should just make a Tumblr or something for it.

EDIT: Made one. Or at least took the name and will update with pics soon. Never tried a Tumblr before.

The first two parts of the awning are postage letters because I under ordered the 1x2 flat white bits, also the bright red bricks were all meant to be dark red but the online pick a brick doesn't sell 1x1 flat dark red pieces.

I've placed my next pick a brick order to fix what I under ordered, and to cut down on the grey between floors I bought the more brick yellow to replace some of it. I've also bought another color for the red bricks and the new awning color.

Once I'm happy with the outside I'll kit out the toy shop on the first floor, and add a living area in the second floor.

As for more pictures, here ya go.

Edit: That Sopwith Camel is soooo mine...

And all I can think about with this pic is Cabin in the Woods posters.

I like the rear a lot, and the roof detail is interesting. I'd be tempted to use a different colour than tan on the awning though, blends too much with the wall.

I like the stop with camel, but the control wires on the wing look a bit messy
