Finished the cell block on the Death Star. That has to be my favorite part so far. The way they make a forced perspective to make it look like the hallway is longer is fantastic, but my favorite part has to be the trap door that you can open to have the figures jump down into the trash compactor. It is that little touch that makes me love the set.

I bashed this set months ago because it looked kind of lame compared to the display piece that the Death Star II was and the SSD, but now that I am 2/3rds of the way through the build, I take it all back. This is the most epic build I have done yet. Yes, more epic than Tower Bridge. So damn fun.

And again, this damn thing is HUGE.
 
Finished the 8070 & wow is it beautiful. Got only 1 "replacement" piece. It was a black 1x5 beam that was missing but there was an extra red 1x5 beam in the bags to take its place.

I'm pretty lucky to not have "missing" pieces yet in the complete sets I get from LEGO but this is a first to have "replacement" pieces.
 
I just finished my first ever MOC! I got one of the LEGO Store grand opening sets, but I didn't want to open it; so I decided to make a mini-modular sized model of it instead!

I based it off of the pictures in the Eurobricks review of the 3300003 set. Maybe someday I'll make a 2x2 sticker of the LEGO logo, but for now I will make due with the approximation I put together.

I put as many of the interior details as I could (or had pieces for). I have a smaller scale version of the pick-a-brick wall behind the cash register in the back, and a few multi-colored pieces on the side walls to represent the shelves.
(Also note my 3 piece micro R2-D2 set in the front window display! :D)

I even managed to put a ceiling light like the full set has.

Most of the pieces I managed to use from the few Pick-a-brick cups I have and the rest I stole a few from the Gringotts and Cool Cruiser sets. I made sure that it's on a 8x8 base and has technic hollow pieces on the sides so it can connect with the rest of them!

yeah the winchester. I think they posted instructions up recently. And they were looking for bricklink sellers to do superlots so you can buy all the parts for the big on in one hit.

If only Mega Bloks weren't so crappy. Who knows, if they improved their quality a bit, they could [realistically] be a fair competitor to LEGO. Cool display though, that's for sure!

E: I must admit - the minifigs are pretty damn sweet in those WoW sets, haha.
 
It's interesting how the Creator line has changed with the passage of time. Robots, "mechs" and vehicles kinda dominated the line +5 years ago, but now the focus has shifted more towards quaint houses and "friendlier" things. That's not to say that it's become worse; I just think it's become a tad less cool. I would love to see a 800+ piece Creator robot/mech that utilizes modern building techniques and pieces.
 
For the WoW series, every set should include an in-game loot codes for pets and mounts. That stuff would sell faster than they could make it and they could charge whatever they want.

Oh man, that WOULD sell like hot cakes. That's a stupidly good idea, but it would never pass...I don't think???

Or people would just tear open the boxes in stores to steal the codes and not bother with the building sets.
 
Here's the "final" version of Bane's Vest, I've ordered a couple from Shapeways, now I just have to sit back and wait, fingers crossed that they turn out OK.

Wow! That's really fantastic! I need to steal this idea and make one of my own. And I don't even have the mini modular set yet!
 
As far as original city modulars go, nothing comes close to Mercy General City Hospital for me. This guy came up with the ingenious idea of vignettes that slide in and out of the rooms. Lego needs to adopt that idea ASAP. I'm impressed that he built a giant, fully realized hospital that can be rearranged into various configurations too.

Holy shit. That is incredible. And I love how he uses so few pieces to get such implied detail on much of it. I think my favorites are using a crossbow for the top of a scale, and how he uses an upside down turban for a wrapped up baby. That is some amazing work.

I really need to get 7292! It's the only recent creator set I don't own. Looks like a lot of great possibilities.

Yup, the 2nd and 3rd aren't interesting to me at all, although the main build is cool and I'm glad I bought it. Currently using most of the parts in my open-air imperial walker (took the open air tank I posted before and made legs from a Bionicle I picked up for cheap and added more guns; will post pics eventually).
 
Not sure if this is news or not, but my Wal-Mart is stocking a few of the Monster Fighters sets now. Their website doesn't have them listed, but I saw the Swamp Creature, The Mummy, and Vampyre Hearse sets today.

So I'm currently in vegas and my brother wants me to pick up the minecraft set. Will I be able to get it from a store or should u just get it delivered to my hotel? I tried toys r us and target but no dice so far...

I love the exterior, I wonder how tall it is compared to a regular modular.

I never liked that one, it doesn't conform with the modular standard base size and everything is really cramped inside. It would ridiculously expensive as a real set.

If I'm eye-balling it right, each red floor should be the height of the second floor of the fire brigade, give or take a stud. It seems to be about as tall as 4 of those floors, the fire brigade is about 3 not including the bell, with the bell they should be about the same height give or take a bit. (bottom is 1.5, top is .5 and the second floor is 1 obviously since it's our scale)

I have a couple of those phone printed slopes from my Lego from the 80s. In sure you could find them on brick link.
