You really can't go wrong with 12.50AUD for shipping, considering how discounted the sets are and how pristine their boxes and whatnot are, too. My dealings with S4M leads me to believe that they're a fantastic operator on all fronts. Go for it!

As I said, they are the best by far here. Their prices are good, as virtually everything will be at least 20% at some stage with a peak discount of 35% for some sets.

Speaking of which I just noticed the prices are up for the Monster Fighters sets:

Haunted House $270
Crazy Scientist $80
Ghost Train $120
The Mummy $16
Swamp Creature $13
Vampyre Hearse $50
The Were Wolf $35
Vampyre Castle $150

For some reason I thought the Castle would be $200 so I'm pleasantly surprised. I guess the licensing fee is what made Jabba's Palace so prohibitively expensive here.

Definitely getting the Castle, Crazy Scientist and Haunted House.

All set for the weekend. :D

There is a local guy that I recently met from my hometown that builds some amazing cars with Technic elements. He has been featured in various local newspapers and even on television because his model raised a very healthy $1,626 for Make-A-Wish.

The Vampire GT

If the model gains enough support, Lego may actually turn it into a an official set, which would be awesome because there are a few parts in the Black version that Lego does not produce anymore and they are somewhat difficult to find. Supporting is FREE and EASY to do and only requires either logging in through Facebook or creating a simple account and then you just answer 3 simple question with absolutely no commitment to purchase anything:

What would you pay?

How many would you buy?

What do you like about it?

The entire process only takes about 30 seconds.

HERE is a short video of it features

I have been trying to help promote his model on Lego Cuusoo. It finally broke 1,800 supports which is pretty good for a non licensed Technic set, seeing as how most casual Lego builders are not really into Technic. HERE is the link for the Model to help support at Cuusoo. This is the same one that raised all of the money for charity and unlike most models at Cuusoo, it would probably require very little modification from the Lego designers if it passed the review.

Here is some of his other work.

He has this posted on a Pittsburgh Steelers forum that this one will be auctioned for Charity Spring 2013. It is really nice. I love the color scheme.

Goddamn. I am really digging some of the reasonably old Space sets (Space Police II, to be exact).

Swish as. I think I'm going to have to treat myself after my much-better-than-expected tax return.

That is Space Police III, from 2009.

http://www.brickset.com/browse/themes/?theme=Space&subtheme=Space Police 3

I have a set from this theme and it was really fun. Definitely cool stuff in there, and a HUGE step up from the previous Space Police series.

This is Space Police 2:

http://www.brickset.com/browse/themes/?theme=Space&subtheme=Space Police 2

I have one of these sets, and it was one of the last sets I bought before going on an almost decade long Lego sabbatical. I hated the new Police figures, and was not a fan of the color scheme.

This is Space Police I, AKA best space police

http://www.brickset.com/browse/themes/?theme=Space&subtheme=Space Police

I am biased towards this series. It was my favorite as a child, but to this day I still LOVE the color scheme of it and the red windows. And every set also came with the greatest mini figure ever: Original Blacktron.

As awesome looking as those cars are (really amazing), the fact that it contains parts no longer in production does not help its chances of being made if it does hit 10000 votes. Of course, they would probably modify it enough to accomodate current parts.

Ah, my bad. Crucial typo! Cheers for the correction, Phonciple.

I am almost 100% sure that all of the parts in those models are currently in production, there are just a couple pieces that haven't been made in Black in a few years, but Both of these models can be built in red. It's not unusual for Lego to make parts in a certain color, discontinue them, and then bring them back out in the original color again. They did it with the smooth toggle joints in Black again in the 9395 tow truck earlier this year/late 2011. They were out of production in black for like 11 years.

Edit: I just checked the parts list at Rebrickable for the Vampire GT and all of the parts ARE currently in production. There are 2 parts that are not in production though in the color Black, bushings and the 19L flexible axle in Black. But the parts are currently all made in red. But the red isn't as good looking as the black.

Sure, but aesthetically speaking, it's got nothing on their previous bike, the 8420 :). It comes at a premium these days, unfortunately.

Eh, that one is rather plain looking to me. It is nice, but not sexy. But, to each their own.

EDIT: Damn. You edited it as I was waiting for the timer to allow me to post. At least we are in agreement about the engine.

Hmm.

Waffling between these two (or just saving the money for the Grand Emporium around Christmas):

ixNEoLApj3PkS.jpg

Both are on clearance at Walmart. Regular price in Canada is $60 and $50, each is ten bucks off. For the Apple Tree House it would actually be cheaper (slightly) if I waited for a 20% sale at Toys R Us on Creator sets, they're due for one soon.

I like the look of the lighthouse as a built set but the house definitely would be better for experimenting with.

I also like the seaside house but that damn thing is $60 for some bizarre reason.

I got the lighthouse recently and was wanting it for awhile. It's decent, though building it felt monotonous, probably because it was practically the same pattern on the way up to the top of the lighthouse itself.

Apple Tree House is a fantastic set, and also a great set for pieces if you want to make MOC buildings. I cannot recommend the set highly enough. Great set, great pieces, great price.

My set of olympics minifigures arrived today from the UK, along with 3 of the ghost polybags (I traded 1 polybag hulk for 3x ghosts) from germany. I've only opened one ghost, but it's quite cool, they'll look good in the haunted house when I managed to pick it up, probably not til next year at this stage.

I'm considering buying parts to put together 10x of my custom black batmobile tumblers and 5x camo painted tumblers. The reason I'm doing it is one guy offered me $200 for my painted one so I'm thinking I'll use that money to make more to sell. The pieces and paint probably come to about $100 but if I can do more at one time it will help reduce the cost.

What do you think people would be willing to pay for a black and camo one? the black ones would be cheaper seeing as though I wouldn't need to paint them.

You should also check out Mars Mission if you like that style, some great and unique designs there.

No particular reason to post it, but I figured the crowd here might dig it. Last weekend, I picked up the Cool Cruiser set, and decided that I wanted to build another shooter-style spacecraft:

Damn it - I've spent so much money on LEGO as of late. I blame you guys.

Urgh....I have been contemplating getting the Cool Cruiser for a while, and that post is not helping me. Dammit.

Must be strong and wait for birthday in a few weeks. Must be strong...

Like it. Small scale is not my personal tase but it's nice to see done well. Did you have many parts let over?

Thanks! As to leftover parts, there were tons, actually - the set is a weird mix of very small detail-type parts (TONS of 1x1/2x1 wedges and the like) and large structural elements (most of which I didn't use), which is why it's piece count (621) is way in excess of the typical 10/$1.

Our World in LEGO, day 3 updates:

Last tile of the day being placed, this kid was incredibly happy to have the honour.

560920_10151102025161413_893674472_n.jpg

We finished nearly an hour early today, with only 200 tiles per day and some really enthusiastic kids they go fast. One kid came back today after being there yesterday, he convinced his parents to cancel their train home and stay another day, he's now done 12 tiles.

Really enjoying this project :)

Really like these and not to be critical but if it were me I would combine them. My craft have to have wings.....

Haha i actually did combine them and it had wings briefly but I ran out of red to match the yellow and black that was left :(. I treat the red ship as a gunship.

Gandalf Arrives is sold out in every damn store that carries Lego here. It's the only LotR set I want (until the Hobbit stuff arrives, where I'm going to have to use a lot of willpower to not buy Bag End) and I guess at its price point everyone else wants it too.

Oh well.

I'm really happy with the Shelob set. Pretty cheap, a good looking model (beats the hell out of the Aragog spider that's in Hagrid's Hut set), and great minifigs. Frodo's alternate face is hilarious.

I'll probably hold off on the Gandalf Arrives set since the Bag End set later this year has Gandalf and a ton of other minifigs, too.

Nah, get Gandalf Arrives now. It is cheap, and no waiting for Gandalf. It also has a different Frodo figure. It is probably my favorite of all the LOTR sets.

I just got Shelob Attacks, which was all I needed to have the complete LOTR line. Love the set, and the pose-ability of it. The webbing being in the back of the body is great, and I had fun leaving it on the desk at work and freaking someone out.
