Apparently it takes 5-8 days for them to order from the source itself so I'll be surprised if it goes through at all.
Got a little bit of extra cash, what should I get next? R2D2, Imperial Shuttle, Haunted House, Pet Shop or B-wing?
You're in Portland, aren't you? I live in Sellwood, and I have 3 minotaurs, if you want to meet up some time for a minifig exchange. I've got some other duplicate sets I'd be willing to trade too.

Huh? That's the first I've heard of that. The haunted house will be gone before the Imperial Shuttle. Monster Fighters will be discontinued at the end of this year, after christmas my store will not be getting anymore in.

I am a supervisor at my Lego Store, we get notice when sets will be discontinued and when new sets are coming out.

I was hoping to have a year or so to pick up Monster Fighters. This kinda sucks. I don't even have time to build anything right now.
Whoa. That is sweet looking.Hey guys, you might want to check the Christmas isle of your nearest Target. They finished setting up all the decorations and toys and I found this beauty!

There was also an empty bin for a Christmas LEGO Creator set (possibly the rocking horse or toy train announced earlier this year).

Does the Haunted House fit well with the other modular buildings?

Finishing touches being applied to the first part of my daughter's diorama/MOC....
Anyone interested in pics?
Yes please.
These were given away by The Sun here in the UK. Pretty sure I still have a couple lying around somewhere!

EDIT:
And any tips on a quick, cheap way to build a raised plate? The jungle baseplate slopes up on one side to the height of a BURP, and the idea is that the second plate will be raised and the HQ will sit at a higher level. Are there any big pieces that would quickly and cheaply lift the level, or is it just going to be a case of using a lot of bricks and building it up?
Haunted House is exactly 32 studs wide when done, so in that respect it is the same width as any modular. The issue is that on one side there are bulges from the hinge pieces to make it swing open, and those prevent it from cleanly connecting to the next side. If you build a base for it to stand on that is wider than the house itself, and use that as the connection point, it will connect with other modulars. It will just look odd with all that extra space.
It would be an interesting challenge to build the Haunted House without the hinge, but with the layered floors like other modulars though.
Yes, pics would be awesome!
And as for the raised baseplate, I had to do a raised platform to put the Haunted House on. Using slope pieces (or whatever you want visible) on the ends for support, then through the middle, use 2x2 or 2x4 bricks as interior support. I put the stacks of them at intersection points of the larger plate pieces so that both plates connected to them. Then at about the half way point of each plate there was another support.
Whenever I take apart the haunted hill I can take a pic to show. Or if you look at instructions for the Death Star, there is a similar technique used around the middle area to add height.
Just from looking at pics of the haunted house my fist thought was The Burbs with Tom Hanks. Modding the Haunted House to fit with the other modulars gives the city a creepy house at the end of the lane that all the kids are scared of.

Just go back a few pages and look at how I connect all the stuff for my haunted house theme. When I get home from work I will dig them up, but we are both using the same idea.I'd wondered about that. There won't be anything visible at one end of the plate, as it should be hidden by the dirt/scub slope leading up so I could get away with using spare coloured blocks (or even half-a-dozen BURPs?) as a support at that end, then use the stacks you suggest throughout. I'm building each plate with a row of black bricks along each side, with Technic blocks/pins to connect each plate to the next, so they would serve as supports on the other three sides - only problem is the sheer number I'm going to need if they're going to be as tall as a BURP piece along three 48-stud lengths!
You Brits are so damn lucky!

And I still want my hat back...
Just be sure to look at the ones where I do a plate by plate breakdown.Heh![]()
I'll have a nosy at your HH pics. I'd seen them, but I hadn't noted the construction - time for a closer look...
Not really. It's the only way we seem to get most of these polybags. Would be nice to have the option of just buying them. Still no sign of the ghost and grandfather clock here.
Also we don't get the same generous deals as America seems to get.
