So only 10%? That's not worth staying up tonight. Not really worth it at all.

Are you saying that if I place the Shuttle vertically (nose towards the heavens) on my desk that if I bump my desk once or twice a week that the tailfin will just fall off?!!!

Possible. The only supports for it are the two small walls for the rocket boosters. I don't think the tailfin was made to be a support for it, but it seems to have turned out that way. It seems about once a month when I walk by it, that I push the fin back in place.

I can post pictures of it to show how it is, if you want.

Looked around and I can't see any specific order so yeah, not really worth it.

I'll just wait till Brick Friday so I can use my in store voucher.

You could buy the Fire Station and not get 10% off it's that ridiculous.

Coming mid-April with an exclusive CMF.

That's not right. In my build the weight of the Shuttle was focused mainly on the fuel rockets and wing supports. The tail fin is not even touching the ground. A good bump can make it tilt off though.

That would be awesome if you have the time!

Argghh! Lol I really like that shuttle! I had forgotten about it from last year when I went to a Lego store and they had it, and then I moved and I hadn't seen it since then...

US sale is live now. But clicking the link for other exclusive offers just loops back to the main page right now. Going to hold off a bit before ordering.

Part of me wants to wait until next week to order, and see if any sets go on sale.

The site is getting hammered HARD.

Shit. One moment I had the holiday set in the bag, now I dont. Grr. Shoulda just hit it at 12:01. Going to just keep waiting until the free set shows again.

But right now Maersk is 10% off still, and then the 10% on top of that when the total is over $150.

Yeah, if you can get that $150 total then you can stack those 10% discounts AND get VIP points AND get the free Holiday set.

I just placed my order for tonight - we'll see what next week brings for actual Black Friday.

Fuck. I cannot remember my password. I sent forget password and still no link. GRR.

EDIT: Email showed up. Used temp password. Changed it to what I thought it was.

Maersk Train and Diagon Alley, along with free holiday set. $246 with tax. BOO YA!

Also, I know I will be weak and order something else before free shipping ends. Maybe even bad next weekend. I dont have the money. I should not use my credit card, but I need to feed my addiction.

What did you get if you don't mind sharing?

Hayabusa (10% off), SW Advent calendar (also 10% off), Apple Tree House, Power Functions Light, PF IR Receiver, PF Train Motor and the free Holiday set.

How many hours do you get out of 9 AAA batteries in a train? Do you use rechargeable batteries?

I ask because the rechargeable pack is 49.99 minus 10 percent would be 45 bucks, and it just seems to be the best choice for value (and the plug is 22.50 after the VIP deduction -$67.50 total for both- for not buying rechargeable batteries (which are usually sold in 4 or 8 packs; the train calls for 9 batteries), or a recharger (usually 20 bucks) to charge 4 batteries at a time... it really does seem like a hassle to NOT spend the 67.50 right now to make operating my new Maersk a joy as opposed to the alternative.

Convince me that I should be cheap and get the ~12$ AAA battery box and never consider the 75 dollar alternative!!

Also I was think of saying fuck buying the PF parts separately and just buying the 7939 Cargo Train on amazon for 160$ which comes with tracks and PF cheapy style stuff; then I could alternate play between two trains! What do you think Lego GAF?

Well, with the Cargo Train set you will get the power functions and a second train. And if you don't like the train, you can strip it for parts. I think that might be the better idea.

Edit: oh, god. Now you have me looking at stocking up on tracks and power functions. What good is a train without tracks? I don't even have my Maersk yet and I am thinking of tracks!

Probably best to wait for tru sales to get tracks.

Your not alone, I was thinking of tracks months ago before I even thought that I might even have a chance of getting the Maersk, lol.

Edit: I hear a train outside honking its horn, lol, but I should tell you that the price for 64 flexible tracks on Lego.com is (with 10%off) 22.49, and at ToysRus right now they retail for 29.99 (lego.com retail is 24.99) so you might be better off getting the 64 flexible piece set (8867) now for the price its at currently. The 8867 64 pieces flexible extends 85" inches long, so you could create a 25" long by ~15" tall oval from just that bag alone, theoretically!

I've got both types of battery packs, but I've never used the 6AAA pack to-date. I do use rechargeable batteries in the remote control, and they last a long time on one charge.

Frankly, if I were to power more than one train at a time, then I would just take the $50 hit on the rechargeable pack, since I already have the AC plug.

The 7939 Cargo Train is a great package if you are at all interested in the train itself, because you also get a bunch of track and a few PF elements included. I almost pulled the trigger on a 7939 this summer.

Tracks are one of the few things TRU doesn't mark up, so wait for a great TRU sale and pounce!

Does that mean that the 24.99 price for 8867 (64 flexible pieces of track) is a sale price? Because that set is listed as 29.99 on TRU.com as of maybe 10 minutes ago...

the plot thickens...

Use PBK3 if you spend over $50 but under $150 to save an additional $5

However, this code disables the 10% when you spend over $150.

Are you sure, because when I look at my cart right now, I show for example:

Shuttle Expedition: 99.99 --------90.00----- <in yellow letters denoting 10% savings

and at the bottom of my cart I show:

Order Discount: 5.00

Better Yet:

Items in Your Bag (7)

Subtotal$204.70
Order Discount-$5.00
Shipping FREE
Tax$16.48
Order Total $216.18

All items sans the free gift show a yellow price next to the regular price to denote the 10%off

So what's the deal with this Promo Code?

I think that it gives you five bucks off, but I couldn't tell you what the trigger thresholds were for the coupon to not fcuk up other positive gains.

Check the reviews for the flex track - it is very split between those that think it is ok for certain situations and other that think it is horrid. I've only purchased multiples of 7499 (which does contain some flex track along with the valuable traditional straight track) and 7895 (which are switches and traditional curve track). TRU has MSRP on both. On occasion eBay can be a source for great deals from someone unloading a bulk selection of track.

This needs to make a return:

All this train talk tonight got me searching again for a set that went OOS earlier this year and the price has skyrocketed. I just picked one up from Bricklink:

Yes they do! And those reviews made me chuck the two bags I had in my cart like they were last weeks garbage!

I'll probably pick up the cargo train in the future. For now I bought two boxes of tracks ( 8 straight + the 16 flex) from The Store, and I might keep one and return one and until I get The Cargo Train!

I was able to combine the 10% off with the $5 off code:

Winter Village Cottage $89.99
Bank & Money Transfer $44.99
2012 LEGO® Holiday Set Free

Subtotal $134.98
Order Discount -$5.00 <-- PBK3 Code
Shipping FREE
Tax $9.90

Total 139.98

Maersk Train is now Sold Out on LEGO S@H.

I keep forgetting, but what is S@H? Shop at Home?

Also, can I cancel an order before it ships? Like if I cancel on Sunday I should be safe right! They won't finalize my order before Monday will they?

I want to go to my local Lego store to check what their pickings are like post private shopper event tomorrow; that is when the private shopping event takes place right?

What are the hours of that event?

Well, bit the bullet finally!:

Got:

Shuttle Expedition
Winter Bakery
PF Headlights
Free Christmas Gift
-10%
-$5 Coupon Code (thanks fellow LEGO GAFFER; it's 3:14 am here I can't remember your "name") :)
-$5 VIP Points

=$146.50

146.00 for 2000 pieces (including 103 pieces for Christmas Gift) =7.3 cents per piece!!

Not bad, NOT BAD! /Watto

Sweet spot for a £50 set? Thinking maybe the villa savoye, possibly fallingwater (£75) or winter village bakery. Nothing I desperately want but I don't want to miss the sale

Does it have to be 50 euro? Can it be less? Do you have the Log Cabin? It's 30 bucks for 355 pieces and builds into 3 things! :)

Bakery would be my vote from the three that you suggested.

Ha ha. They fixed the details link but it shows the European prices (€) rather than the UK's.

With the WiiU out this month and the need for a new television £100 is asking far too much even if I split it 50/50 and ask for it as a gift. Kind of disappointed really.

Needs to be a total of £50 to qualify.

Do videogames count? They should probably have LotR out that weekend

I wonder if buying the Fire Station plus a build it yourself figure to bring it over £100 to qualify for 10% off can then be used with the £5 off voucher.

Because roughly:
£100 - 10% = £90
£90 - £5 = £85

But £100 - £5 = £95 and thus not qualified for the 10% off.

Maersk Train is now Sold Out on LEGO S@H.

Holy crap. If it is gone for good, I feel much better for finally hitting the train bug. Now to jump on VW Camper and Shuttle quickly.

So this means I missed it right? Just because I didn't stay up for 10% off. Now it's gone light a frieght train?

I think Maersk went quickly because the set was already 10% off, then another 10% off that if your total was over $150. I think the price in the end on my order was $97.18 for Maersk.

Well Target has it for $113 and I have a $50 gift card from my wedding. Just need to talk the wife into letting me use it for Lego.
