No wonder I've always hated Folk and Power metal.
Nylithia is pretty awesome.
Anyone else excited for these shows?

Goddamn this is so fucking good. Broadrick makes the best stuff.
That is some good shit. Love some old school thrash and I'm not familiar with Wrath.
This is awesome. I love this stuff. Someone posted some obscure Russian thrash that only had 1 album in english. Forgot what it was, but was equally as awesome.
And yeah, that Wrath shit is great, Blackheim.

Yeah it's great. I agree with Robot that is amazing how something so heavy can simultaneously be beautiful and melancholic. So many great tracks, my favourite would be Walk on Water. Shame that they didnt produce anyhting worthwhile after Silver.

Obviously slightly NSFW.
This gave me a chuckle...
...eventhough they're T-shirt sizes.
As if I needed more reasons to hate them.

Yeah, I think that's quite a poor idea. Something like that may fit Rammstein a bit better.
It's a tight race between two bands.....you should be able to guess which ones.
Voting closes at 5pm EST.
So tell me, which marketing ploy is worse, bands who make sex toys or bands who make beers?

NPR has posted a preview of the Maryland Deathfest: The Movie III which features the beginning of the Dragged into Sunlight set - http://www.npr.org/blogs/allsongs/2013/04/25/179050192/embrace-the-darkness-dragged-into-sunlight-live-at-maryland-deathfest
Both of them are equally awful. I hate marketing ploys in general, when it comes to metal music.
Whats the problem. If dudes make decent music why shouldnt they make some bank? Most of the older bands we all love here were dressed in basically gimp suits with nails on them. If Bolt thrower wants to sell bbq sauce more power to them. I wont go out of my way to buy it (unless its tasty) but why hate on dudes trying to make a living.

Nothing wrong with making money with music, or merchandise that doesn't cheapen the image. At least that's the way I see it. And I didn't say anything about hating the dudes themselves.
So I don't know why but I keep listening to that new Megadeth song.
I'm starting to....like it. It just gets so catchy. The hook stays stuck in my head.
Fuck.

Unsurprising result, but thanks for doing the poll. Could you post the full results?
And, as a result of this 100% unscientific poll which anyone is free to argue over,
MetalGaf's favorite band is:
Opeth
