Yup, the S/T is so fucking awesome. Lots of going back to old Godflesh, yet a sense of freshness to it. You should check out Heartache, which was the EP before the Jesu S/T.
Hard to believe something so fucking heavy can be so melancholic and beautiful sounding at the same time...Something only Broadrick can achieve.
Well, the post about Wrath went over a lot better than I had anticipated
I expected no reply at worst and "blah" at best haha. Those albums have been out of print for way too long. 20+ years! All I had was Nothing to Fear on a cassette I can't even play since I don't have a deck. I'm super excited to say the least and wanted to share so I'm glad that some here liked what they heard
And yeah I remember a post somewhere about that Russian Thrash band, can't remember the name either :/ I don't think it was Aspid...

Yeah it's great. I agree with Robot that is amazing how something so heavy can simultaneously be beautiful and melancholic. So many great tracks, my favourite would be Walk on Water. Shame that they didnt produce anyhting worthwhile after Silver.

I think Conqueror is a great album. Haven't heard much that came after that though.

Lifeline, Sun Down/Sun Rise, and Why Are We Not Perfect ep's are all great. Wasn't a fan of the other full length's that came after the S/T. Sun Down/Sun Rise actually sounded more like something in between the S/T and Silver.

I'm kinda torn on Ghost as whole. Imo, their new album is full of wonderful songs and it's a real solid record but everything besides their music is absolutely stupid and cringe-worthy Their image is just tacky, the over-the-top satanic content evident in both lyrical content and in, for example, their booklet imagery feels somehow redundant and cheap and now this whole dildo-stuff...... I don't know. I know that their whole image is a gimmick and all that jazz, but in my opinion they should either drop the occult content altogether or express themselves in a more esoteric fashion instead of such an in-your-face-approach. Hahaha, I feel like Sarah Palin
Nevertheless, their undisputed masterpiece is this cover: Here Comes the Sun. Usually I'm strongly against anyone covering Beatles, but this interpretation is absolutely sublime.

Both of them are equally awful. I hate marketing ploys in general, when it comes to metal music.
I would def enjoy the Sonar lineups better.....that is one fest where I wouldn't have many stage conflicts.
Whats the problem. If dudes make decent music why shouldnt they make some bank? Most of the older bands we all love here were dressed in basically gimp suits with nails on them. If Bolt thrower wants to sell bbq sauce more power to them. I wont go out of my way to buy it (unless its tasty) but why hate on dudes trying to make a living.

Nothing wrong with making money with music, or merchandise that doesn't cheapen the image. At least that's the way I see it. And I didn't say anything about hating the dudes themselves.
I don't have a problem with beers, who wouldn't want to have their own beer?
