The most unfunny man on TV

You guys equating comedians like Letterman, Jimmy Fallon and even Wayne Brady to the animal planet dude are CRAZY. This is a thread about the number one most unfunniest guy on tv, not the most hugely overrated and lackluster guy. Each one of those guys has been involved in at least one funny skit or joke, unlike animal planet dude.

Yeah, I suspect those people who named all those people either never seen Matt in full effect or they are just hijacking this thread to tell us which comedian they hate.

I don't hate Matt Gallant, it's just sad, and a bit funny in itself, to see him humiliate himself on TV like that. :)

Anyone voting for Bob Saget has apparently not seen his stand-up act. Also, he directed Dirty Work, which is pretty much in line with his real sense of humor.

I haven't seen that animal show guy buy Carson Daly is the most accurate answer so far. I don't have anything against him he just isn't funny.

Craig Killborn formerly had the crown, he was the worst professional late night talk show host I've ever seen.

Yeah Carson is painful to watch. I can't believe they don't at least put a laugh track on that show. Its just punchline...cricket, cricket, cricket.

Wanda Sykes, if we're including women, definitely gets to throw her hat in the ring.

I dunno, she's pretty hilarious in Pootie Tang, and in Curb Your Enthusiasm.

I also like Saget. He's so bad that he's good. You can tell he's genuinely smart.

Carson Daly was funny in the Josie and the Pussycats movie.

I didn't even realize his talk show was supposed to be funny though. :(

Have you ever seen Bob Saget host the show? If so, you'll see what sort of improvement Bergeron is...

Dave Coulier wasn't bad, he did some decent voice gags.

If by "some," you mean the same three over and over, then I agree ;)

My brother someitmes switches to it, it's on in the mornings in Australia on PayTV. We never laugh at it. Australias Funnies Home videos wasn't the best show, but man, that shit is just HORRIBLE.

I think Wayne Brady's 67 series of Whose Line prove the man can be funny.

I thought this thread was about Colin Quinn. (Although I guess he doesn't count, as he's not on TV anymore.)

Colin Quinn is the unfunniest person to ever make a dollar from the entertainment industry.

Sinbad is one of the not-funniest people alive. Thankfully, his TV show isn't on anymore.

We really don't have any idea if the guy from Animal Planet is funny or not. He isn't funny because of the horrible writing on that show, not because of any fault of his own. It isn't as if he could make that crap funny.

I live in Australia, but the chick that hosts the show here is terrible as well. The jokes are incredibly bad and come off really awkward and then they play those ridiculous laughing sound effects every 2 seconds of the show.

Yeah, but rom what I remember, at least the videos were funny.

The ones I've seen on the American FHVS is not funny AT ALL! Usually tryign to make the funny by the stupid voice, rather than what happens on screen. A whole bunch of them looks incredibly staged too.

Jeez, I can't believe I forgot about these guys (although somebody did mention one of them):

If I had to pick between their stupid fucking movie/Comedy Central show and Full House...that would honestly be a tough choice.

Watch the Animal Planet guy's eyes the next time he's on. There's a hopeless desperation there. The producers of the show probably have his wife and daughter locked up in a dungeon with rabid Dobermans chained five feet away.

And whoever said Wayne Brady is getting choked out. Not only is he funny, he manages to do it while Sambo-ing around in tight-ass sharkskin pants. That's fucking hardcore comedy.

:lol So true. Just listen to him the next time he says, "Goodnight everybody." He sounds like he's going to burst into tears.

talking head: Drew Carey is much like Bob Saget (although The Drew Carey show is about nine billion times better than Full House): his stand-up is a great deal funnier than his television role would have you believe. In any case, he's certainly no Animal Planet host.

it's not like that animal planet host writes his own shit and then reads it on air.

drew carey is not funny at all. stand up, talk shows or even "whose line" he absolutely sucks and laughs too much at his own jokes.

I'll give you the too much self-laughing and the general shitiness of Whose Line, but otherwise I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

Bob Saget is horrible, though... and I don't know if you've ever caught an episode of America's Funniest Home Videos lately, but they've either got new writers, or the new guy is just proving how bad Saget really is... because he's far more watchable.

That's probably because Trace Beaulieu (Dr. Forrester/Crow, MST3K) is currently on their writing staff.

Because he knows he's only bought his family another 24 hours and he's no Jack Bauer.

WTF?!

Bob Saget?

Obviously some posters here have their comedy metres broken. Or don't have one at all.

I'd say Dennis Miller...and the fact that no one mentioned it yet is proof that he's the unfunniest man. We don't expect his show to be a comedy, because none of us laugh at his crap. BUT, the fact that he laughs at his own jokes means that he's trying to make others laugh, thus, he is trying to pass himself off as a comedian but is ending up not being detected on our radars since he's so not funny.

Dennis Miller is one of the funniest guys alive, whether you agree with his politics or not (since his material is typically infused with political discussion). You must not be suh-mart enough to get it. ;) :D There is no way that a sane person can watch his last stand-up special and not find it funny. Simply impossible. :p

I can separate my feelings regarding a comedian's political opinions from my estimation of how funny they are. I can enjoy both Miller and Maher despite the fact that I disagree with both on several issues, because both are hysterical. :)

Well, some people find something like, say, eating feces as funny, but it's not my type of humour. I'd have to drop down 100 IQ points AND have my nipples jacked up to a car battery to find his stuff funny.

Honestly, just share with us a funny quip on his part...it's time for you to redeem yourself Loki, for such comments.

So you are telling me you actually laughed out loud to one of Miller's "jokes"?! What's wrong with you?!

Seriously, post something you found funny.

As far as Bob Saget goes...just listen to his stand up.

Huh? You might not like his material, but it's in no way puerile or lowbrow.

I don't remember specific jokes, but I do remember that I was laughing my ass off. I don't really see how anyone couldn't, unless they were so caught up in their politics that they couldn't have a laugh. I hate people like that-- people who can't laugh at things they hold deep convictions about. I'm a Christian, but I can laugh at God/Jesus jokes provided that they're, you know, actually funny and not malicious. I don't quite understand people who can't do the same when it concerns their pet causes. People shouldn't be that invested in their politics, and that uptight. If it's mean-spirited, that's a different story, but most comedians aren't, and so I can usually laugh at any sort of material if it's humorous. :)

I'm not saying that you don't enjoy his comedy for these reasons, but I've heard people state as much before, and I find it amusing. People in general should lighten up. :)

Lighten up, I agree...but dumb down? I won't.

How is his material "dumb"? If you want to look at things that way, Chris Rock's stuff is "dumb", yet still hysterical (particularly "Bigger, Badder, Blacker"; his last standup special was shite imo). Something doesn't have to be particularly intelligent/insightful for it to be funny imo-- it can simply be a novel take on mundane happenings. :)

Hey, I'm giving you a chance to show me, maybe I'm wrong. Well, gotta go to work, but when I come back, I'll try to have an example of how his "humour" is dumb, and you can do the opposite...

Secondly, I'm not a huge ran of racist humour as well. I lived in Red Deer, pretty much know all the jokes regarding Jews, Blacks, etc. I think it's horrible, no matter how veiled people try to make it.

Eh...when that follows this big paragraph, though:

I'm just saying. ;)

In all seriousness, I don't like Dennis Miller, but it's got little to do with politics (although I disagree with much of what he says, there are a few things that I do identify with) -- I just think his style of humor -- observational with emphasis on referencing the arcane -- isn't particularly funny.

It's a tough three-way between Jimmy (I can't make it through a skit without laughing at myself) Fallon, Drew (I suck at acting, period) Carey, and the entire cast of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour.

You said something like, "What's the big deal with virgins? They're OK, but at some point I'm gonna want a finger jammed up my ass." Not only was that utterly vile, it also made no sense. Care to clarify it for us?

Dennis Miller:
Hey, take it easy, Cha-Cha! Can't a guy can't even invoke the image of a Lee Press-On nail slithering into his unwashed, hairy cornhole for comedic effect these days without some little dame twisting her hemp granny thong into a macrame straightjacket? [Laughs.] It's called a prostate, sugar. And in my version of heaven, there's a slut with fingers the size of Ron Jeremy's schlong giving me the deep tickle – twenty-four-seven. OK?

I like how one of Dennis Miller's fans had to ask to explain a joke...but Dennis was too f*cking retarded to explain it.

Now, THAT is funny!

So that explanation where it says "Dennis Miller:" wasn't said by him, but rather a fan? Sounds like his stuff to me. :p And I even find that little bit pretty funny (though nowhere near as funny as his special). :D

Hah, good point. :D Still, what I meant was that the friends/acquaintances of mine who have voiced their disdain for Dennis Miller are pretty far to the left in general, and many have made specific mention of the fact that they disagree with his politics, and that this apparently colors their entire view of his comedy. It's just a mentality I can't relate to-- I'll laugh at anything, myself, provided it's not malicious, as I said. :)

Fair enough. :) I shouldn't have said that "I don't see how anyone couldn't (enjoy his comedy) unless they were turned off by his politics", because that's too sweeping a generalization; his style is very unique, to be certain, and I can see how it would turn some people off. It's just that, in my personal experience with Miller-haters, their politics seemed to preclude them from enjoying his comedy for what it is, and explicit statements to that effect were made. I dunno...I enjoy all styles of comedy, really. :)

Yeah, I understand. I'm sure the majority of Dennis' haters are so inclined due to politics, so you're probably right generally speaking, anyway.

The first part was a fan's question. He had to ask Miller to explain a "joke" because it made absolutely NO SENSE.

The second part was Miller's reply, which didn't address the question, and was equally retarded as his first comment.

I'm more conservative than Miller, politics have nothing to do with his retardedisms.

I don't want to derail the thread, I'll leave it at that. I mentioned a person, and proved how unfunny he was...I don't think that the thread starter can ask for anything more.
