The "my pre order vendor f*cked my Switch release day delivery" thread

If it says "Shipping Today" and they haven't charged me, but it still says it'll be delivered today, am I screwed?

I'm passing a Best Buy on the way home, was thinking I could go and grab Zelda Wii U from there (that's what I ordered from Amazon) and then return it when the Amazon copy comes.

If even BB is sold out, I guess I'll download it and then just eat the cost to return the game to Amazon.

I just spoke with Amazon customer service regarding my order of a Switch case and Bomberman still being on "shipping today" status with no updates.

She was no help and said that we had to wait for the system to update to show tracking information. Couldn't tell me if that meant it may have shipped and just hadn't been updated in the system or if it was not going to ship on time.

Meanwhile, my Switch system, Zelda, and Pro Controller from Gamestop were shipped on time via UPS and the package was out for delivery this morning at 8:00 AM. It's now after 3:00 PM and it hasn't been delivered yet. And that's OK, but I've been using real time tracking and have watched the truck go down my street and go to every other neighborhood/complex except for mine, lol. Saw another UPS truck, a FedEX truck, and a USPS truck all come by earlier. Just a minute ago, the truck was back on my street...and now is on another road in another neighborhood,

It's like something is messing with me. I wouldn't care and would be out doing other stuff, but apparently a signature is required. Ah, system launches.

Amazon had said it was going to arrive by 8pm all morning, and now they send me an email telling me it's shipped but not due to arrive until Monday. If I can find the console at another store locally on my way home, I'm going to send Amazon's late shipment right back.

As your card has not been charged by Amazon, you won't get the system at all. They only charge when they're actively getting it ready to ship out. No charge-no system.

Just got this from Amazon:
Hello [Lyte], This is ***** from Amazon customer service.

Just to reassure you that your order has entered the shipping process and is currently being packed for delivery.

Due to the volume of packages we ship each day, it's impossible to locate and pull out a single package once an order has entered the shipping process. We are therefore unable to make any changes to an order after this point. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Your package should be leaving our fulfillment center shortly; as soon as it has, we'll send you a confirmation e-mail.

Holy shit. Guy made me wait 10 minutes for an order number look up. Then says this:

Jamar: I am seeing where this item will be shipped today for you
Me: Does that mean I'm still getting my order today?
Jamar: Yes
Me: Cool, thank you
Jamar: You are getting your item today?

I'm surprised he didn't disconnect, but still. What the fuck lmao

I ordered from amazon, says it's supposed to arrive by 8pm. It's also stuck on "preparing shipment". Fuck everything. Lol

spoke to amazon service and saying the 7th at latest? fuck off.

got 5 dollar promo credit when I complained. I don't need their 5 dollar pitty money.

When my Switch was delivered this afternoon, I was handed an additional box. It was addressed to me so I opened it. What's inside? The Legend of Zelda LE. Didn't order that. Turns out it was meant for someone else (their name was on the receipt). Contacted them thorugh facebook and they came to pick it up (I live in the Netherlands so it wasn't that far a drive). Pretty big mess-up by bol.com Hope the guy is happy with his game though.

I sent them an email about the release date delivery failure, and I just received a response offering an extra month of prime. I'm sure calling would have been more effective but I'm at work so an email was easiest.

It seemed like they were blaming UPS, which is a cop out since the shipping process didn't start on Amazon's end until 11:30 last night and was set as 2-day air.

"I have escalated this case with the carrier to make sure that these kind of experiences do not repeat in future for any of our customers."

Ask and see if it's close to your fulfillment center. All depends on that. Mine and many others who live around NYC is in Robbinsville NJ which is an hour away from all these towns so it's guaranteed to be coming tomorrow, if it doesn't come today.

if you fulfillment center is further away than that's why they're probably saying Monday due to sorting and travelling times.

Wasn't there just a thread about how good Best Buy shipping usually is, with many people actually getting their games before the street date through them? I mean no service will be perfect.

So shopto fucked up and said my delivery won't come until monday, so i paid dpd the extra to bring it tomorrow, but now they're saying it's gonna come on monday anyway despite me paying a fiver. Now they've given me the option to pick up my order in a wynsors shoe shop near me tomorrow. What the fuckkkkk.

I'm in the same boat, CS just said it's still scheduled to arrive today and offered me $20 credit. Zero confidence they really know anything

I think you need to press them to check whether or not it's been actually shipped. I basically asked the second rep if the first one lied to me and all he could muster was, "I'm sorry, I'll bring that guy up with management"

Anybody else in the Ohio area have the shipment tracking still stuck in Columbus due to "A delay due to weather or natural disaster"? I would have expected this to have only been an issue in the morning, especially since a friend of mine in Columbus said there was nothing out of the ordinary (just a little bit of snow). Amazon's shipping notifications have been like 4 hours behind the actual events though.

If it doesn't arrive by 8pm, I'm going to email Amazon and ask them what is happening. I'm at a point where I'm ready to blame them for waiting to ship the day before when packages have typically shipped two days prior.

I am in the same boat as some others I see here, where my order (just the wii u game) says shipping soon and arriving by 8pm.

I contacted customer services over chat and the representative said it should still arrive by 8pm, and I haven't gotten shipping information because it being sent from a facility nearby. Not sure whether I believe I will still receive the game today, but guess I will find out soon.

Yeah Amazon fucked up. Got off Cs, it's not arriving until next week. I am gonna see if I can buy the console at Walmart with Zelda and then sell the Master edition and the Amazon switch in ebay. Fuck them.

My Amazon Switch is supposedly supposed to be here today has sat at "preparing to ship, delivered by 8pm" since yesterday. I'm not too hopeful it will get here tonight but if not at least I'll get some Amazon credit

yeah as others have said talk to them now. make sure they upgrade the shipping and give you credit. they did that with me, luckily it was my backup preorder.

Similar thing happened to me. Except there were two lines, pre-order and no pre-order. Pre-order had like 50 people in line, non-preorders had a few hundred. The best buy rep told me that the pre-order line would go in at midnight first, followed by the no pre-order line.

When it got to midnight, they let 15 in from the no-preorder line and 5 from the preorder line. They repeated this ever 20-30 minutes. I was ~20 in line in the pre-order line, and I didn't leave best buy until 1:20. Close to half of the no pre-order line had gone in by the time I was let into the store.

The worst part was, they apoligized for the pre-order line taking so long and that they were doing everything they could. But when I got inside, the pre-orders/non-preorders were just being funneled into the same line!

Last time I pre order from them.

You win, I at least got out by 1AM. I'd suggest making a formal complaint to customer service and get it on record. It sounds like a local management issue; I'm sure their HR doesn't want to piss of their best customers.

the fact that there hasn't been communication, an email or anything, is really shitty.

Yeah, this is what bugs me the most. Like I'm not really that upset it's going to be late; shit happens, whatever. But you guys can't be damned to mass e-mail your customers who are very obviously SOL in getting their Switch today just to at the very least say "Hey, it's not going to make it today, we're super sorry and we will update your order with an accurate shipping date & time as soon as we have one."?

Instead we have to reach out to a CS rep to get the runaround on how it's "still totally coming today...but it might be tomorrow I dunno sorry" and then spend all evening hoping for some sort of shipping miracle. I'm sure the CS reps would be grateful to not have to answer the same damn question from all of us today too. Sending an e-mail is a win-win for everyone here.

What are you guys saying to your reps? I keep getting "it's expected to arrive today." I don't care about the credit or free prime, I just want one day shipping.

Man what happened with Amazon? For the most part they seem to be reliable.

Mine shipped out today and is coming tomorrow. Disappointing considering I preordered it the moment they went live.

I had Amazon customer service email me confirmation that they upgraded my order to same day shipping and guaranteeing delivery today. So when they can't do that, I can hopefully get more than $5 and a month of prime.

What amazon and every other store should have done is sent out the good wednesday and asked the delivery companies to sit on the delivery until friday morning, this was done with something a few years back I forget what exactly, but it worked.

Trying to shove everything out thursday is just wrong and not going to work.

And now the UPS truck is on the other side of town, LMAO. I'm declaring this all a lost cause for today. If it comes, great....I now expect it all Monday.

Man what happened with Amazon? For the most part they seem to be reliable.

I suspect it has something to do with Nintendo. This only seems to be happening with Nintendo products, I.E. the Nintendo brand case I ordered is stuck in pre-shipment limbo and is no longer available on their site, but a Hori case is available to ship right now.

This is pretty standard for products with hard release dates like games. Amazon fucked up here. Still don't have mine and its been out for delivery (from my city) for the past 6 hours.

UPS delivered some stuff to my house, none of which were Zelda, so I guess that's that.

Will check Best Buy for a physical copy, or, if all else fails, just eat the return costs to ship the Amazon copy back and just go digital.

Still in "Now Shipping" purgatory with Amazon.

Went to Best Buy to pick up my Zelda preorder and they had a single Red/Blue controller console still sitting out on the table.

jeez Amazon is sort of trash for me at this point. so many issues with them over the past month or two

What annoys me is that I had a best buy preorder with in store pick up but I thought Amazon was more reliable with this shit. Guess not.

Great. I just got my Bomberman game for Switch, but Amazon still are preparing to ship my Nintendo Switch.

This is a total mess.

After putting me on hold to research, Amazon CS basically blamed Nintendo for not getting stock to them in time. Only offered me $5, which they doubled to $10 when pressed (one for each order since Switch and Zelda SE are seperate orders).

Not mad pervse, would only really have a chance to play it tonight until Monday, but sucks.

But people in the switch launch thread talked all kinds of shit about us being paranoid about everyone waiting until the night before to ship a few million units

Contacted Amazon CS and they said Zelda would arrive tomorrow(office is closed tomorrow, so I won't get it until Monday.) Thanks for nothing jerks. The order page still says it's arriving today / shipping soon. What a joke, did Nintendo barely send their shipment to Amazon yesterday or what the fuck.

I live in Columbus and it's been as boring a day as possible weather-wise. No precipitation, no wind... it's not even all that bright outside. If it makes you feel any better (and it probably won't), my Switch is also stuck in Columbus. It's been in town since noon and UPS informs that that's where it will stay until they get around to delivering it on Monday.

If amazon messed up on switch orders why did they reopen them today (for neon)? Was able to get one with free one day delivery.. status says "Shipping today, arrives tomm". Hmmm.. wonder if it'll get delayed like most peoples did.
