So it seems the YouTube app is now universal? Patch notes says its optimised for IPhone 5 and iPad.
Meh. Anyway to get YouTube videos to play in the app by default?
Does it by itself already.
Click a YouTube clip on Safari, it'll open the app.
So it does; I was testing by navigating to Youtube and clicking a link manually.
I guess I'm going to have to start using Safari again also.
Home + sleep until it forces shutdown.Halp.
My Ipad 3 is stuck in a "can't save emails in the cloud without some bull shit activated" dialog, giving me "cancel" or "menu/options/whatever the menu is called in English" options.
No matter how many times I hit one of the options, the dialogue menu stays. I can`t even turn it off, because the slider isn't working with this menu "on top" of the virtual screen
Home + sleep until it forces shutdown.
Well there's also a way force quit an app, which is achieved by doing it kinda like you described.Oooooh, nice.
I tried to hold each button down individually, not together. Yeah, besides an ipod shuffle I have no Apple products. Well, two shuffles, buying another one was about the same price as getting a replacement charger after the metal rod was bent.
I've had plenty of iPad cases but I find that the simple Apple Smart Case is pretty good in terms of offering complete protection in a thin case while also including the foldable cover.

Wow, I can't believe existing games look that much better.anandtech's ipad 4 review:

I was shocked to see that the screen seems to definitely be better than the ipad 3.

iTunes cards? Can you purchase apps/games with these or am I looking for a different gift card?
For some reason my dad wants to buy an iPad, does the new one use the same screen protectors as 3rd Gen? Don't see too many 4th Gen ones on eBay.
EDIT: Also will smart covers from 3rd Gen work or no? I don't know much about iPads!
What's best program for converting DVD to iPad compatible files? Prefer good image quality and sound then small sized files
I'd recommend Handbrake

http://www.macrumors.com/2012/12/14...one-5-for-127-fourth-generation-ipad-for-399/Walmart has dropped prices on both the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S, with the 16 GB iPhone 5 now on sale for just $127 and the iPhone 4S coming in at $47.
In addition, Walmart is now selling the latest fourth-generation 16 GB Wi-Fi iPad for just $399, a $100 discount from standard pricing. And beginning on Monday, Walmart will also include a $30 iTunes gift card bonus with iPad purchases.
Despite the iPhone 5 having launched in the United States less than three months ago, retailers are offering aggressive discounts on the devices to attract holiday shoppers. RadioShack is currently offering all iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S models at $50 discounts from their regular prices, and also offering email coupons for $10 credit on future purchases for every $50 spent during the holiday shopping season. RadioShack also offers price matching through its Mobile Low Price Guarantee, suggesting that it is likely to match Walmart's discounted pricing upon request.
I'm thinking about getting my wife an iPad for Christmas but I'm a little lost on the details since I haven't really been keeping up with them. Right now I'm leaning towards the 32GB 4th gen model. Any thoughts or advice? Also, where is the best place to buy one? What about insurance?
Thanks for the help, it's very much appreciated. Is it worth buying it from somewhere like Best Buy for the protection plan or should I go for some third party insurance? That's the one thing I'm still fairly unsure on.I owned a 32gb 3rd gen, and replaced it with a 32gb 4th gen when they were released.
- Definitely get a 4th gen. In my experience the battery life is better, and apparently the faster processor will handle late gen software whereas its predecessor won't
- Don't get a 16gb because you will fill it immediately. I didn't realize how many photos I would end up storing (the screen is beautiful) so I'm a few gb away from my limit.
- Don't get a Mini. The screen pales in comparison despite the fact that it's super comfortable to hold
In short, you're headed in the right direction. They're pretty much the same price everywhere, so if you see local shops selling them for $20 off just take the deal. Not sure how stock is meeting holiday demand though so you may want to move quickly.

My GF surprised me with one for christmas and I need some protection. Smart case or just the cover?
Smart Case or other cases. The Smart Cover is half-assed now.

Why the hell is the app store a piece of shit. Got my mom an iPad 2 and are trying to find free games. I can't seem to find an "all game" sort or "free games" sort. Just new and noteworthy and featured. And a bunch of extremely vague genre links at the bottom. Help please.
Il check that when I get back home Ty!On the App Store on your ipad go to top charts then there is a categories link in the top left hand corner. Chose games > all games and then you will see the top paid games and top free games.

Augh.
I had told my mother on multiple occasions that I did not want a tablet. I mean, I do want one; it's just not something I want someone else to purchase for me and pick the make and model and so on and so forth.
And then, of course, she gets me an ASUS TF300T for Christmas. I was actually pleasantly surprised, except when I asked on GAF I was informed that Android tablets have app issues. Bleh.
So now I'm torn between seeing if I can return it for an iPad Mini or a refurbished iPad 3. I'm torn because on the one hand, I do want to take it with me and carry it around and the mini seems more conducive for that, but on the other hand I would like the larger screen for ... almost everything else.
(I'm not sure if this is the right topic for this, but I'd rather not make an OT topic that I would have to moderate. If there is a better topic for this question, direct me there. :x)
as someone with both an ipad 3 and an ipad mini, i don't think you want the larger screen as much as you think you do. it's almost never an issue except for things like the korg synth which have lots of tiny dials all over the screen. another thing i keep the ipad 3 around for is PDFs/zinio magazines, which are much easier to read without zooming in, though that's a function of the resolution rather than the screen size. in any case, i now use the mini 10 times as much as i do the 3.
whichever way you go i would recommend trading in that asus transformer, though. it's pretty good as android tablets go, but the support for full-size tablet apps is still incredibly limited. i love my nexus 7 but i really don't know what i'd do with a 10-inch android tablet. the ipad, on the other hand, is a pretty transformative thing to have around.
