It isn't adding AA, it's disabling the AA.
The codes remove the filter.
I tested Goldeneye and it seems like the codes improve the frame rate a tiny bit.
There was a discussion about this in Sega16 and it seems like it improves the frame rate in most games tested.
choo chooooo
Svideo is good...screw composite though. I ban composite from my recordings even!
Model 1 Genesis can do RGB!!!Composite is the reason I haven't touched a model 1 Genesis I picked up last year. NES is the only console I'll accept it on due to it being limited without modding and when paired with a comb/trap filter it's bearable thanke to the overall simpler pallette and graphics. Hard to believe RF and composite were how many of us played these systems for so many years as kids.
S-video looks great thankfully although I want to get a converter for scart to component some time in the future. Thanks to this thread I played through Star Fox 64 again and finally popped SNES SF in which I hadn't bothered to play since I picked it up months ago. That ultimately pushed me to but Zero today, time to see if the controls or as wonky as some have made them out to be.

The "normal" version initially was the gold cart. Reprints later were the standard grey cartridge. Is the only differnce between collector and normal the gold cart? I had always assumed the gold cart was just part of the first few prints of the game, not part of a collector's edition. Never knew I had one, my brother originally bought it when it came out.

I think I'm getting a N64 Everdrive next month.
The everdrive is that good eh?=OBest decision you'll ever make.
I've only played with my Everdrive 64v3 a bit, but it's quite solid, yeah. Same with my Mega Everdrive.
Still need to play with my Everdrive-N8 and Everdrive GB, tho...
Thoughts on Rocket Robot on wheels? Just bought a complete copy in excellent shape. I see reviews on YouTube are good but always like to hear gaf's opinion.

Oh I'm definitely doing the AA teaks, in fact it'll be one of the 1st/earliest things I'll do. I should be ordering it next week.it really is fun exploring the library further, and ive not even scratched the surface with DD conversions, AA tweaks etc
Apart from the somewhat average graphics, it's a really good 3d platformer with good controls, gameplay, and levels. The physics engine is the core of the game, really, and it makes for a unique experience. Very good game!
Great choice!
It's up there with Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie and Rayman 2 as the best 3D platformer of that generation.
Be aware that camera system sucks.
However the mix between platforming and puzzle game gives its own identity to the game which wasn't really matched afterwards by other games.
There is a good variety in the level design, also graphics and music are nice.
memco said:Another trick, which can be used in some games such as Doom 64, is to reset the neutral position such that down is neutral, so up is 2x speed.
webkike said:You can do this with a lot of gamecube games because the system would set to default what ever values the system was receiving at bootup; turned out to be a great way to avoid costs by having different manufactures make the controllers
Is this a special edition? No.
Do I think it's worth 5K? No.
Why do I have it listed for 5K? To make you butthurt. Because I can, it's my item after all.
I just picked this game up on a whim a couple days ago, and was about to jump in this thread and mention how much it pleasantly surprised me. Nice to see it was brought up recently. Thanks guys! Youtube reviews seemed good and it's one I've had my eye on and wanted to get. Good to know Gaf likes it.
I just ordered a Everdrive 64 from Stone Age Gamer!
Lol. I'll be testing it on like 5-10 games at 1st and maybe more. Then I'll upload that to youtube.enjoy, m'man! eagerly awaiting your impressions on the AA patching, i grabbed the pack but have been too lazy to patch em & find room for them, haha
