Anyone play LEGO Worlds? Curious how it is on the Switch.

Draw distance is probably the biggest issue. Last time I played it there were some frame rate issues, but there's been a patch since which is supposed to have helped. Haven't tried it since the patch myself. I personally think it's fine, but there are some less forgiving folks who weren't too happy.

YMMV, I guess.

Is Pianta Park from Super Mario Sunshine the obvious but not actually correct answer? :p

800px-SMS_GB_Pinnapark.png

You were right, but the name was Pinna Park ;). The obvious and yes, the actually correct answer ;-)

Enjoy the game!

For those interested and like Nindie games, the game also has a mini easter egg called "8 Seconds of Nindies" that is hidden during the game. If you find it, the GamePad will play a 8 second song from a Nindie game and the player has to guess between 3 options. There are 35 Nindie games and 3 categories (Nindies on Wii U, Spanish Nindies (Ñindies) and Switch Nindies) and games like Little Inferno, Toki Tori 2+, Nihilumbra, Elliot Quest, Yooka-Laylee or Thimbleweed Park!
Maybe one day I do a contest related to this easter egg if people are interested ;-)

Oh, thanks for the giveaway! I look a bit awkward saying it now, hahah.

But bah, my Super Mario Sunshine memories have failed me! Perhaps I'm due for a replay.

That's a neat feature, I'll definitely check it out. Out of curiosity, was permission for the Nindie game songs difficult to get, or is everyone mostly cool about sharing between games (So long as it's a smaller Easter egg like what you described)?

It wasnt that difficult, but it depends also of musicians and who has the right of the music in my case, but the Nindie community is really open to help each other I would say. People that participated were also curious and found the idea of the cameo really original, so that help as well ;-)

Enjoy the game!

So I've never played a Shantae game (although I did like both of the MSF games on 3DS so I know WayForward makes typically pretty good games) so I wanted to give Half Genie Hero a try.

What I'm worried about is is it particularly short for its price point ($37 AUD for main game + Risky DLC)?

Zonic

Gives all the fucks
Perhaps wait for a sale, Pirate's Curse has been on sale numerous times, & some argue that's the better game over Half Genie Hero (which is still slowly getting new content).

Oxenfree
Stardew Valley
Yono
Unboxed

Those are the four games I am struggling with on what to buy next.

I have legit become addicted to Stardew Valley. I've played it at east a dozen hours this weekend, and have actively had to limit myself. If you liked any of the older harvest moon's, it is like a better version of those, in my opinion.

I never played a single Harvest Moon and pretty much hated Animal Crossing.

HM and AC are very different games. Animal Crossing is about relaxing and doing whatever. Harvest Moon keeps you pretty busy with maintaining your farm to make money and getting your "chores" done with often-minimal time to drop by town and socialize since days are like 15 minutes long.

In the case of Stardew Valley, you have more freedom to do things other than farm, but the heavy time constraint is still there. You can pretty much get away with having a tiny farm and focusing on fishing, gathering, mining+combat, or whatever aspect of the game you enjoy most, but at its core the game wants you to maintain an at least semi-productive farm.

As someone who loves AC and has a love/hate relationship with HM, I'm actually rather enjoying SDV just because of all the extra stuff you can do when farming gets tedious.

Woah, I just got back from a long road trip and a couple too many at the bar and I'm seeing Tiny Barbarian DX on the eshop for $40.89 Canadian. Am I hallucinating or is this game amazing?!?

I was browsing random games on the store and looked at Tiny Barbarian pics and was like looks like something I'd play! Then saw the price and went hmmmm lol. Not to be one of those ALL INDIE GAMES ARE ONLY WORTH INDIE PRICES etc people, I just wasn't expecting that.

Figured it must be also getting a retail release, makes more sense now.

I think the reason for that price is because it's also a retail title. O

I picked up Yono even though I'm not sure it looks too great. I'm a sucker for cute things and elephants though. So whether the game is great or not, i'll at least have cute elephants on my switch.

Hi guys,

Thinking of going all digital on my switch. Currently have Mario kart and Zelda on cartridge and I'm wondering if I sell my physical copies will I still be able to carry on my save game if I purchase digital providing it's the same region game.

First week in a while I'm not compelled to buy anything. Hope more Nintendo Arcade Archives are on the way soon, thought it would be a weekly thing starting with Mario Bros.

I did notice Elliott Quest is listed as out next week on the Japanese e-shop. I really enjoyed the Wii U version but stopped, I think i was near a glitched part that was awaiting a patch and never went back, so I wouldn't mind double-dipping if this comes to North America.

"if" :D

you mean when^^ (which is probably next week because why would a western indie debut in Japan)

I picked up Yono even though I'm not sure it looks too great. I'm a sucker for cute things and elephants though. So whether the game is great or not, i'll at least have cute elephants on my switch.

I've just this minute finished it and wasn't impressed with the game. The game is very short and, apart from from one puzzle, very easy, especially if you're used to block puzzles in the likes of Zelda and Pokemon.

I played the game exclusively using off screen play and there seemed to be performance issues. It looked like there were a few framerate dips here and there.

Had the game been a cheaper price I think it would be easier to recommend but there are far better eShop titles out there at the moment, some of which are priced cheaper and offer a better experience.

It's not all bad. The game does a charm to it. Yono looks great, especially in some of the costumes you can buy, and some of the dialogue is quite humorous, as well.

I was looking forward to this after seeing it in the Nindie showcase. It's a shame it didn't turn out as well as I would have liked.
