The Nintendo Conspiracy Theory.

Yeah some guy from the IGN forum also found out that when you type www.nintendoon.com it redirects you to the fake "NintendoOn video" story on the Cube IGN channel.

Why is that fan-made video would be one of the top stories on IGN is beyond me. Again, a trick to fool us?

someone did a check on the nintendoon.com and guess who regged the url :)

Aime, Reginald F

i'm not shitting you, I did a look up on the address myself and it's true :P someone just HAS to be bullshitting me.

I'll feed you fucking crazies:

you can put in any name you want when you register a domain... could be someone pulling a big prank

no i mean the website was linked to an personal address and when you look up the address it's a guy called Reginald living there. but yeah, i think it could be a prank, a well thought one at that.

Whether something mindblowing is revealed the 19th.. or nothing at all.. this is one of those things that will go down in GA history. Thursdayton.

I'm trying to convince myself it's all bullshit.. every rational fiber of my being is convinced of that. The foundation for it all just seems shaky to the point of being almost non-existent, with more sources jumping on this bandwagon solely to fuck with people.

But then.. there is just that part of me that wants to believe it.

It reminds me of the broken saints stuff before gamecube.. which consequently turned out to be all bullshit.

Word has it a secret alcove can be found deeper within the creature which houses the precious Nintendo Revolution. But gaining access to the Shangri-la of tomorrow’s video game generation is to remain an electronic dream.
Tomorrow is commonly used in reference to the future, but hey, maybe it's more than a metaphor this time? The article was posted today..

:lol me too.. i wish nintendo would do something like that, but when i was reading some threads on other forums about it i was thinking "DAMN those people are crazy, i don't want to be like them!"...

It does seem like Nintendo were just fooling about in the press conference. Long puppy thing with that stupid girl, foolish Electroplankton DJ, Miyamoto making sex joke, light-hearted BANTER between Iwata and Reggie... WAS IT ALL A HOAX?

I think it would have to be. I doubt a single Nintendo website is registered in his name. That's definitely no part of his job. I mean I suppose it's possible that he sits and tinkers with their websites, while their webmaster works on sales and marketing, but not likely.

Some dude called Aries posted this *before* E3 apparently.

"Another thing I forgot to mention was on the backward compatibility;
apparently the Nintendo’s new console will be able to play the games
from past consoles such as GC, N64, SNES, and yes NES. I believe this
feature shall intrigue many people out there and could possibly lead to
what I call “New Classics” so look forward to that. For now I have to
seriously catch some shut eye E3 will be here soon enough.” -Aries

“I’m not going to give out the secret. It’s going to be very fun; wait
until E3. Nintendo is going to roll out a trojan horse: something that
looks innocent and weak and them bam, it will be unveiled. Just don’t
make up your mind on the first day of E3.

My credibility will be proven on May 19th. I have already given you a
hint about what will happen in the next few weeks. Pay close attention
to some of the Nintendo related stories that will begin to pop up. So
far, many have already been reported. Pay attention. And on the 19th,
don’t automatically try to write me off. There is a big suprise in
store for everyone. I’ve said that 100 times, but I can’t stress it
enough.” -Aries

"While the Aries and Nintendo main site rumors are interesting, everyone is talking about the latest Revolution Mock-Up Video. (What's funny is that IGN was the only main site to host it... coincidence?) If you have yet to see this masterpiece, below is a link to the video:
Mock-Up Video From IGN

Initially, many people were astounded by the professionalism that went in to creating such an amazing video; the huge Mario Castle created out of thousands of tiny Mario castles alone was a technical feat only a skilled professional could pull off. Eventually, however, it was brushed off as a fake and merely a cool watch for Nintendo fans to hopelessly ponder. But is there more to the video than most people think?

Just this last week, Nintendo of America's vice president of corporate affairs, Perrin Kaplan released a few details before the actual E3 conference stating that the console would be “very, very sleek.” While this may be a coincidence, does it not seem odd that in this Mock-Up video appears the words “the most sleek”?

Today at the Nintendo Press Conference was something even more astonishing. Reggie Fils-Aime mentioned multiple times that we all need to think with our “Right Brain”. A comment such as this isn’t very common, but for some reason also appears in the video as the name of the headset: “The Brain”."

It would be an effective move. Tomorrow, the real "revolution"? It would blow people's minds..

..and that's pretty much why nothing will happen. Nintendo doing something like that is just too unlikely; I don't care how much they want to change their image.

It is inescapably noticeable at this point that the Nintendo religion is more active and interesting than any of the content they deliver. Congratulations!

Because we're waiting for them to actually deliver it?

Someone should photoshop that Futurama clip that has the Church of Trek on it.

The Church of Nintendo
The Church of Reggie
The Church of Revolution

Take your pick.

I find this stuff pretty damn funny to be honest.

It's usually Nintendo who has the balls to release things like Virtual Boy, DS, etc. So, you never know. You never know.

Nintendo's answer to Sony and Microsoft Press Conference, a sign thrown together last night??!!! :( :)
Actually, that image is clearly from a teleprompter from LAST years E3 Nintendo Conference. Iwata said those exact words.

I hate nintendo fansites. I hate nintendo fans. I hate the way they think nintendo is magical. I hate the way EVEN AFTER gamecube, they still think nintendo is magical. I hate when nintendo fanboys who've been let down cry and whine about how much nintendo sucks.

Fuck 'kiddy games', its the nintendo fanboys give nintendo a bad image.

That's kind of neat; I hope that Aries guy is right. I think all but the most hardcore Nintendo-hating gamers are just dying for Nintendo to come out with a big innovation, god knows we don't need PS3, PS3 Jr., and PS3 Baby.

Nintendo vs Ron Hubbard?

I'm not putting too much into these crazy-ass rumours, but I do remember reading this before the press conference.

You have a point, theres something magical Nintendo games give to their fans

I don't even know who this Aries dude is, but I looked at the GameFAQs board and they're claiming he also predicted wireless controllers, SSB Online, Square producing a Revolution game, and an exclusive Sonic game for GC. :lol

He did! I don't know about the Sonic thing though.

"I was suprised to hear that Square Soft has a game in development for the Revolution. It will be at E3 as well as some other next gen titles for the PS3."

"A new Super Smash Bros. Melee is in the works as well.
This game will demonstrate the online functions of the Revolution.
Nintendo has added many new things into the game, included a deeper
combat system. Many more special moves are included as well as some
very cool suprises. The levels will include some destructible
environments, and the characters will be fully customizable. Want to
play as Mario in his 80’s outfit? Or would you prefer the 90’s look?
It’s your choice. The most innovative part of the game is the different
modes. In previous games, you were allowed to play in giant mode, metal
mode, small mode, etc. That has changed. You will be able to choose to
play in a “Paper” mode (a la Paper Mario), a cel shaded mode (Wind
Waker), or Viewtiful Joe-esque mode. "

"The controller will be wireless; he’s right about that. As you also know, the Xbox 360’s controllers will be wireless as well. Where do you think they got this idea? That’s why Nintendo is still trying to determine what to show at E3. From what I’ve heard, they will show the design of the system as well as games. I’ll tell you about the software later though"

He/She/alien/future teller from Big,, did before E3......

I don't understand the benefit of Nintendo doing a surprise Thursday announcement when most of the eyes of the media and gamers were on them at their press conference. Sure, it would be neat for them to be able to say "LOL PUNKED YOU" but logistically speaking it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

There are five components to the Rev. TV, console, controllers, internet, and a fifth that remains a mystery. Maybe the fifth component is the creative component or the right side of our brain running wild as Reggie put it. They also mention the right side of the brain a couple of times. Plus there was a diagram shown that had the first four components on the left and the right was left blank. I guess the Revolution will have something to do with creating our own games or a community created game. If anything I think creating on the users part will play a large part on the Rev.

......

I don't know who "Aries" is, but I'm really, REALLY damn sick of hearing about some guy at some other board prognosticating about Nintendo. He's like the fucking John Titor of E3, and it's getting old. Next thing you know, he'll be predicting a new Zelda game for an IBM 5100.

It's funny how everyone thought the guy/girl was bullshitting but EVERYTHING came out to be true, WEEKS before E3 came. Why not believe him/her now? Thursdayton here we come :lol

You should lock this thread too.

Yes, he did mention Sonic:

April 26th, 2005 at 7:36 pm

There is not a Sonic game in development for the Revolution. It is an exclusive Gamecube game. This one is totally seperate from Shadow the Hedgehog, which will be multi console (and should hit the PSP as well).
