It just means there is probably going to be a 2-3 year cross gen period for all Nintendo games. Probably smart from a financial point of view. But I was really hoping to see what Nintendo would do with the new tech. My excitement levels have dramatically dropped, at least in the near future

Biggest takeaway here is that they don't guarantee full BC (same as with PS5).

The market is in a completely different place now than it was then, and the Switch caters to a wider market because it is portable. Not really a fair comparison.
