Seems a lot of other games media are latching on to long form video previews of games with commentary.

Tho they may not have the quality or personalities from Giant Bomb how about we have a thread for these too?

This format works tho, a gameplay vid paints a thousand words plus the editorial over the top as audio.

Course it's not going to be as good as GB but if there is more of this type of content surely it's of interest to people also?

I was going to do some HD videos like this back in March, I had a name picked out an everything.

I was going to call them 15 Minutes Of Game, which was a play on the phrase "Fifteen Minutes Of Fame" and it fit with Youtube's 15 minute cap for most uploads. Then I saw how saturated the market for these types of videos is (and I saw the name was already used), so I said "fuck it."

By the way, Giant Bomb didn't invent this type of video, they're just the best/most consistent at making ones worth watching.

It should be a more common thing. 1up did something similar with Game Nights, but it was too off the cuff, and shouldn't have been live stream only.

Game Informer's "Replay" series is really fun to watch and much more regular than GB's Quick Look Throwbacks for those interested in old games both bad and good. They even have a few "Super Replay" shows, which are full playthroughs of older games.

edit: game looks fucking awesome by the way. and reiner is kind of funny. he has made me laugh a few times. "if you like visiting a crap hole" and "hey come to this barrel" both made me laugh.

I've taken a liking to TotalBiscuit's "WTF is..." videos. His shtick gets old sometimes but he's knowledgeable, covers obscure stuff and gets hung up on weird stuff, he's a funny guy. Plus he tends to enjoy stuff that I enjoy!

well, it's got loot but no true character levels, skill trees, or inventory system. more like gauntlet than diablo. can't say i'm not a little disappointed. this is the first i've seen of the game since e3's trailers so i didn't know it wasn't a "diablo clone". oh well. i will still pick it up since it looks great, looks fun as hell in coop, and will satisfy the loot whore that i am.

Oh nonsense, some of Giant Bombs best Quick Looks are the ones where Ryan trolls Brad the whole time

But the thread title is needlessly awkward, you may as well just call it "Non-Giant Bomb Quick Look Thread", because that's pretty much what it is.
