Speculation isn't the problem, but it seems that twitter rumors are almost being treated as primary sources. Especially when a bunch of accounts try to cash in on this investors meeting.

Well to be fair, those sources are literally all we have to go on. Sure, some healthy skepticism is wise, but lending some credence to fairly trustworthy folks who are posting things when we have fuck all else to go on is a "no harm no foul" in my eyes.

Other folks trying to "cash in" is just part of the internet now. I think GAF is pretty good at establishing the difference between "me toos" and fairly reliable sources.
 
If you choose to believe Emily's tweets, it would seem that the plan is for a public reveal announcement this week, with Nintendo obviously being prepared to answer an onslaught of questions from investors next week.

Which, I mean, is pretty much what everyone is expecting, but it isn't like Emily has been publicly saying "this week for sure" like 90 percent of this forum. It's incredibly safe to call, but it is still the first time she's given any specific timeframe since "October".

Emily's tweet probably shouldn't MAKE anyone believe, but I'll choose to take solace that she isn't saying "nah, it's November/January, bad luck ya fuddy-duddies"

I mean how can anybody not think we're getting NX news this week? Emily is not even the only person saying this. We have Drake and Neal saying this too. Plus, there have been a few other places already saying it.

If anything shouldn't this get a new thread? Atleast people don't hate this guy.

One way of reading the tweets is: some info this week. Investor meeting as the sole source (?) next week. Potentially other info another week. Whether this is me reading into things too much, I don't know.

Agreed with both posts. Imo, no one knows Jack shit and they're all acting like they do. It's all speculation. Even I speculated nothing will happen until after paper Mario. If that works then I guess I instantly become an insider.
 
Well, it's posible that this week they "only" announce the date of the direct, which could be aired next week. Thinking about it, I don't know which kind of announcement would be better: a Mega64 video, as they did with a couple of E3s, or a subtle tease that only invites to syntonize their Twitch and YouTube channels on a certain day/time.

I'm leaning towards the former. The memes could be glorious.

That's true; if the NX is as it's rumored to be it does seem like it would get not only people from that market but also developers from the 3ds.

It's pretty weird, I get that NX topics have a tendency to get out of control and need to be locked at a certain point, but it is kind of frustrating that Emily Rogers threads are locked basically as soon as a mod sees one exists.

But as long as a containment topic exists somewhere, it doesn't really matter too much to me. Just kinda weird.
