This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.
We could sit here and come up with a hundred instances of, "Well why didn't they intervene when..." Yeah, it's a bit silly, but it's a silly show, even in its less-absurd days (like Michael fake-firing Pam in the very first episode). Is it really that big of a deal? Allow yourself a bit of suspension of disbelief, gosh.

That is how I thought it was originally going to play out... Pam messes up, doesn't record the recitial, and then the camera crew tells her that its ok, they got the footage.

They had no reason to think anything was wrong anyway seeing as she thought she was still recording it.
I actually thought that's where the show was going
Since they show the camera crew shooting the show from the back of the stage before a commercial break.
And I knew they said would introduce the crew at some point.. so figured.. that would have been the reason

If you think that fight was ultimately about a lack of footage of CeCe's dance recital, you're in for a rude awakening.

Yeah, I think that's underestimating the systemic struggles of a long-distance relationship like that one.
if it isn't either a manger scene of jesus being born and michael scott as jesus or a last supper scene with michael as jesus it will all be a crock.

Not really as it is hardly a unique or extreme example of the situation. Things just build up and something silly triggers a big fight. Then something just as silly triggers them talking. They agree they are both under a lot of stress and need to communicate more to make it work.
On that note for the upcoming valentine's day episode
Jim and Pam share a meal with Brian the sound guy.... I like where this is going

My wife and I found it perfect. Disagreements can spiral like that very quickly.
My wife and also lived apart for three months due to work; it definitely adds a different layer of stress.
Finally watched. Erin and Pete stuff was not awful despite being a rehash of a rehash. Daryl and Dwight was snooze-worthy. Toby being so creepy was decently funny. Pam and Jim didn't deliver (m)any laughs but their fighting felt very real. As for the very end: can't judge it now. It most certainly could cause some retroactive problems. There are ways around it though. Maybe Brian's only been on the crew for a year or two. Even if that's not the case, there could be ways to turn this into something interesting, and if it gives the end of the show some much-needed momentum, that's worth fudging with form and narrative a bit.
Just got to watch it as well. The Brian reveal stuff was weird, sure, but its interesting at the very least. For that reason I like it.
As others have said, Pam addressed the crew directly, and I assume the implication is that she is particularly close with Brian - I'm assume it will be revealed that this is because he's been there for all her big moments (all the stuff with Jim, her farewell with Michael, etcetera) and she was the only person she could feel comfortable with at this time. In all the other 'why didn't they do something in this situation' scenarios, maybe the crew involved with those moments weren't that close with the characters involved, and therefore decided to stay as impartial observers - it was only this case, that Brian saw a person who he had grown close with over the years needed him, that there was a decision to 'break' the documentary for once.
I also really don't think they're going to bang each other.

^Man, I'm so hyped. Still dreading the airdate of "The Farm" seeing as it will most likely be filler.
They went back and refilmed scenes for the farm which would bring it back in line with the narrative for this season... should be interesting to see what they do.

Also there are apparently two episodes this week. Junior Salesman and Vandalism. I guess it's going to be an Office/Rock night as 30 Rock's 2-part finale is also on Thursday. (i.e. No Parks and Rec this week)

Just finished this past Thursday's episode. FINALLY this show grows some fucking balls and we get some drama with Jim and Pam for the first time in five seasons. This is the stuff I missed more than anything -- life ain't all sunshine and farts, it's about time we saw that with those two.

I guess they're just wrapping everyone up with happy endings. At this point in the year, they have about 5 episodes left to film before the series wraps... When I visited the set Last February (on my birthday, no less!), they had three episodes left in the season... they allocate one week per episode.

The fuck? This season is easily tied for worst with season 8. The show's quality was waning after season 4, but still enjoyable with Steve around. It never recovered to the barely good levels of seasons 6-7.
In my mind the only happy ending relating to Andy Bernard would be for me to not see him on screen or hear about him. Awful, awful character.

Worst thing for Andy was anger management. He was a really funny character in Stamford. So was Karen actually before she became Diet Pam. They could have easily done a whole season (or at least more than a couple episodes) in Stamford. That dynamic was really fun, and the Stamford people coming over, watered down, was the slow start of a long decline for the show.

I agree, at least somewhat. The plot of the merging offices wasn't that great for me. That said, I did enjoy Andy for a while after the move. It was only during/after S5 that he started wearing thin.

Capturing the sound in the room in general. The mics on the cast are primarily to capture their voices.
I was typing up a post defending this when I realized pretty much everyone has had them in the show. especially the "main" people like Pam. huh.
