I saw the episodes he was in and even knowing that he was Jan's assistant I don't remember Hunter at all. this show has had everyone on it and like one out of twenty are memorable.

remember that time jack black and jessica alba played themselves

Amazing times :( 1, 2, 3, and halfway through 4 were were the best comedy tv I've ever seen.
I agree, it's my favorite TV series. Even the other episodes before Michael's departure were good.
I don't get people who don't like the first season. All six episodes are excellent.
While I feel they're not quite up to par with the rest, I still enjoy the first season. I'll never forget that basketball game, haha. Gets me every time.

I still remember the lyrics to his song... And this is from memory, not google:

She took me by the hand
Made me a man

That one night (one night!)
She made everything all right.

That one night all right oh yeah.

Jim and Pam sat and listened to the cd he stole during dinner party. They had frozen yogurt in their car. This show used to have so much charm :(

My ex had that song as her ringtone. I could never forget those lyrics if I tried. :lol

Damn, I didn't think this show could go even further off the rails, but it proved me wrong.

All the Brian stuff is so lame. How could any of the writers think this storyline is a good idea?

You guys remember "Branch Wars" and "Basketball"? Those were good times

:'(

Diversity Day!

Dwight: Shalom, I'd like to apply for a loan.
Pam: That's nice, Dwight.
Dwight: OK, do me. Something stereotypical so I can get it really quick.
Pamy: OK, I like your food.
Dwight: Uh, Outback Steakhouse, I'm Australian, mate!
Michael: Pam, come on, "I like your food," no, come on, stir the pot. Stir the melting pot, Pam! Let's do it, let's get ugly, let's get real.
Pam: OK, if I have to do this, based on stereotypes that are totally untrue, that I do not agree with, you would maybe not be a very good driver

Dwight: Oh Man, Am I a woman?!

Sheesh guys who gives a crap. It's just some drama. He's crushing on her, she's got him pretty solidly friendzoned. There's not going to be any "affair." You'd think this show fucked your moms.

As someone who hasn't been watching but is really mystified by all these posts, can anyone fill me in on what's going on with Pam and this Brian person? Many thanks to the person who does :P

This is the final season and we're just now starting to see the documentary crew. The boom operator, Brian, developed a friendship with Pam over the years, but now it's clear he has feelings for her.

wow, so they went there...lol

you guys were right, I guess I just never believe the writers would sink low enough to force feed us a story line that would never work on the hardcore viewer, who lets face it are the only ones who are still watching at this point just to finish off the series. but they went there.

that 2nd episode tonight was just so damn painful, not only because of Brian, but because I thought the first episode was great. to have them go from a rare good episode back 2 back with one of the shittiest ones of the season let alone the series was terrible.

i guess i can't shit on the whole brian being the scranton strangler story line cause they've sunk low enough, and i was wrong about the love triangle. oh man, it's just so weird with so few episodes left where they are going, this show is at a point where i'm yearning for some ryan kelly reappearance.

Yeah, 1 and 2 are my all time top tier seasons. 3 was downhill for me but still at least felt like The Office. After that, I still enjoyed it but it wasn't one of my favorite shows ever anymore.

They're going there guys. They're going to go there.

Judging by the upcoming episode descriptions:

They are so not going there. Jim and Pam have lunch with him next episode. They are just making up an excuse to end the documentary (getting too close to everyone so it is changing their behaviour)

I'm happy enough to think the office ended in season 4 after the dinner party. It was a bit of a strange way to go out, but Pam and Jim listening to the CD in the car just felt right.

The spin-offs that came after dealing with the side characters have been much more hit and miss.

A lot of you probably know I am an accomplished song parody writer. I have done things like “Mad Men in Heaven” and “Total Eclipse of the Simpsons”.

But I’m not going to be doing that today. I’m going to be doing something I wrote specifically for The Office.

It was early morning yesterday
Just before the show
And though the series lost its way
I couldn’t help but shout out “NO!”

Goodbye, Office. It’s been nice.
Hope those paychecks are the right price.
Hate to see you sink so low
They should have cancelled you
Two years
A-GO!

YEARS AGO!

Office! Office! Office!
Office is going away.

See ya! It’s cancelled here!
See ya, Office! See YA!

I don't think Pam is going to have an affair, but it's still a stupid, contrived, out of nowhere plot that shows how far this show has fallen creatively.

Well if you read that spoiler text up there (not really much of a spoiler), I sort of like it actually. Bringing the documentary-ness of it into the significance of the finale, giving it a good reason for why they stop filming.

I'll stick with it and see how it plays out, I just think they're being too heavy-handed with it too quickly. Should have been a more gradual development.

A lot of you probably don't know I am an accomplished insult do person on here. I have insulted such insults as "You Put The P In Gene Pool" and "Your Mother Is Twice the Man You Are."

But today I am doing something different!

Today, I can say to you,

Your Song Is Not Funny!

maybe it is funny i don't know

You guys know when The Office got really good? After Steve Carell left. This Brian guy is the best thing to happen to the show since he left. Real turn around here.

Brain pls

I called it. Turrible. Anyways, I hope Pam cheats. Brian is the greatest boom guy of all time. BOOM!

But what about the new boom guy who was doing the sound for the last scene with Pam and Brian?

Have to say that was some good technical work. Will he get feelings too? What if it is a girl who develops feelings for Jim? Or Brian?

How will Brian react to the new boom guy recording him? So many potential great stories, so little time left. I wish they had started this five years ago.

Awful.

If anything, these two episodes have garnered the most discussion in this thread in a very long time. So... Mission accomplished?

I kind of felt like they were trying to turn Jim into an asshole, kind of stupid. They already ruined Andy by doing that to his character.

I loved the first episode, and seeing Eric was a great surprise. Too bad he didn't have more screen time. It was also cool seeing guys from current and past joe schmo shows.

But god damn, that second episode was so terrible. There was literally nothing that made me laugh. I can't believe the Brian shit, what are they thinking?

Brian being the Scranton Strangler would save this story.

This is oddly true. Now that they've turned that corner they may as well go full speed into crazy territory. The finale or penultimate episode should just be a straight up action story with Jim rushing to save Pam.

"Really makes you appreciate what's important in life."

cuts to jim playing playstation instead of calling his wife

this show has still got it

As I've said before, the show to me ended when Michael left. All of this is just filler and I don't count any of it when I think of the Office.

But this Brian angle is just ridiculously stupid.

lol the show was bad even before Michael left. I'm enjoying this season...I think its better than it has been the last few years.

And I don't mind the Brian angle as much as you guys do. You all complain about how Jim and Pam is boring and blah blah blah yet now they are trying to introduce some tension and conflict in their relationship and yet everyone is still complaining. Obviously things will work out between them because they are the core of the show but at least it's not juts the same old. Hell look how much you guys have been talking about it so they are doing something right.

And in addition to creating conflict between Jim and Pam, Brian allows to documentary team to come to life... and it's a thread that needs to be visited. Who are these guys sitting here and video taping all this shit? Why? What is the end product going to look and and who is it for? These are all things I'm sure they wanted to explore and seeing the show is going to end, what better time to do it than now?

And then there's the big complaint, why is the documentary team only getting involved now? Easy answer - Brian obviously is interested in Pam, and know knows that Jim and Pam's relationship has hit a rough patch, so this is the time for him swoop in.

I wonder where they plan on going with this. I really hope it's not another one of those "Pam at school gets hit on by a classmate but it never goes anywhere because Jim swoops in and proposes" thing.

I'd rather it just be a great friends thing with Jim and Pam helping him out and not the "Brian is in love with Pam like Jim was and is going to tell her later" thing we're all afraid of.

They really should have started this years ago. Integrated the crew into the show more often. How often have we seen the cast acknowledge the camera crew? (Not counting talking heads as that's them talking to the camera, not the person holding it.) The earliest I can remember is in season 4 when they showed the secret footage they had of Jim and Pam dating, that one time Oscar almost knocked the camera guy over when Dwight pulled a fire drill, Michael asking them to let him know when it airs and in the season premiere when Pam asks if they were ever going to have enough footage.

Season 2 the camera guy got Pam's attention when Dwight was eating a candy bar that Angela got him.

I don't get people who don't like the first season. All six episodes are excellent.

I remember criticism for it being to much of a carbon copy of the original. But yeah, S1 was awesome.

Basketball is still one of my favorite episodes. Dwight in the anime shirt+facemask
Amy Adams as 'Hot Girl'
Diversity Day's Chris Rock bit and Michaels craziness

You know what? I've willingly sat through some utterly awful television (The V remake, FlashForward, 4/5-era Fringe, The Lowdown, and the last few series of The Office), but that last shot might just be the straw that's taken a sledgehammer to my spine.

I don't care that there's only a handful of episodes left before it's all over, right now, I think I'm done.

This was the earliest instance. During the fire drill, the camera guy was definitely knocked down (not just almost).

Flash, this Brian thing has been extremely rushed and handled very poorly. The season had so much time to handle this properly, instead of being filled with pointless, unfunny scenes. It's also too similar to the Cathy storyline that just happened last season.
