Winning the gold in hockey would be amazing, especially since it would breka the record for most golds in a single wintero lympics

And it would make up for the inevitably terrible closing ceremony

Most people are probably gearing up for hockey final, but first it's the most gruelling race in any Olympics: 50 km cross country, 8 km longer than the Marathon.

Probably the reason why NYTimes ranks by total medals is because we're almost guaranteed to win given that we have at least decent competitors in almost every event. Same thing happened in Bejing

Why don't you all stop with this crap? Ranking by medal count is nothing new or something only the US does to get over on other countries..

Not a fan of this choice. Should have been Bilodeau, Rochette or Virture/Moir. But meh, after how amazing these games have been, Ill live with it.

Since when? I heard it reported from 2 news outlets today that it was Hamelin. If it IS Rochette, then bravo, couldnt have picked anyone more deserving. When these games are long gone, it will be her story that sticks with me.

Cologna falling 100m before finish after slogging through 50km.. what a day for him.

Finally N-thug delivered on his braggadacio. We end up with 9 gold medals. Same as USA, or, if not, we keep our record. Win-win, in rose-tinted glasses.
