Edmonton's milkshake attracts no boys.
So many good Canadian bands.. They should have made this closing ceremonies a huge candian indie rock concert.

I'm actually surprised they don't do this. I always thought bands like Arcade Fire and Stars had pretty big international appeal...it's not like these 3 people are any bigger/more marketable than them.

Would they actually agree to do something like the Olympics?

Even if they didn't do something cool and indie, someone like Hot Hot Heat would be pretty cool.

It sucks for the players of two teams: Colorado and Detroit. They're the only ones playing tomorrow. Fucking insane imo.

Hell, if they're going to get some smaller music talent to do it, get Josh Ramsay from Marianna Trench!

He's a BC native and that guy has vocal talent pouring out of his ass.

Orrrr just had Barenaked Ladies play "Who Needs Sleep?" in honor of massive partying going on in Vancouver tonight.

I'm pretty sure they would, who would turn down an invite to the Olympics. they'd probably write a few new songs for the occasion too... Indie bands do that cause their popularity is actually based on talent.

It was a fun winter games, despite all of NBC's failures. Proud of the USA athletes.

And congratulations to Canada, who did a great job hosting and competing, and of course for winning gold today in the event that they cared so much about.

Way to go Canada:D

I hate pissing all over volunteers because I have given many years of my life to grassroots sports organizations.

But these Games had WAY TOO MANY volunteers who offered no contribution other than a polite smile. Most of the ones I talked to didn't know the venue or area to which they were posted. Some had no idea what their role was. Too many chefs in the kitchen at events. I'm not sure whether that's the problem of the volunteers - who were, after all, not being paid - or VANOC, for not training and organizing them all properly.

I would, however, like to thank the Arena Staff, Police and Security forces, and Transit Staff who were onsite during the games. You guys ran the show.
