Or doing the...other thing during that quest, actually. :D

back with another story.

Leaving Tenpenny Tower, I headed directly north of it, an area I hadn't fully explored yet. So I was rooting around in some old houses, and I there's some growling. So I moved to a cliff area but came to find a wall to my back and from there the dogs had me fuckin' cornered. Low on health and only a few rounds left in my only weapon with ammo... the 10mm. VATS made work of the first one, but I had to fend off the second with free aim. Five shots, a sixth, then a click. The dog was on the ground and I had triumphed, nearly dead. :lol But that last bullet saved my ass.

This game is so damned good.

Paradise Falls?

I used a couple stealth boys and picked everyones pockets, stole all of their ammo.

That way when I finally revealed myself I had a big crowd of people running at me trying to punch me. Tossed grenades into the group.

I was level 16? Plasma Rifle. Went in there, headshot the hell out of the clowns. must have cleared it so easily in less than 15 minutes? so easy. :P

I guess it depends on how good your character is. Mine is mad money.

I'm about halfway through my second playthrough, totally evil this time with Charon by my side (who looks pretty good wearing Lucas Simm's Sheriff hat). I've setup shop in Tenpenny Tower, become a big time slaver, and now have a hoard of caps, weapons and armor in my safe at home. This is about 60 hours total (20 with this new guy) and I still can't stop thinking about this game, checking this board and planning my nightly raids into the wasteland. While far from perfect, this game has gotten a hold on me stronger than any other game this year. I had thought this holiday was going to come down to a great showdown between Resistance and Gears again, but Fallout won't even let me give those a chance. Whatever the DLC is, it can't come soon enough, and if it's anything as expansive as what Shivering Isles was, I will shit my pants. Gears 2, I promise I'll get to you as soon as possible!

I went into Eulogy's Pad, got rid of him first then went up the stairs and out onto the balcomy with the sniper rifle. Took some Jet and Psycho before hand and it was awesome.

I completed the main quest last night, it kinda felt a little anti-climatic, like it was all over too quickly. I've got a save so i'm going to be adventuring and sidequesting now. I can't wait to start again though and do the complete opposite of everything i've done for this save. :lol

Shalebridge tunnels guys.... whats the deal? Is there anyway I can access all those other areas that seem to be blocked off by just a small piece of over-hanging rock?

I wanna help those cool little ants dammit!

Am I at the end? Because if so, I didn't do nearly enough exploring
I just got captured by the Enclave after finding the GECK and am looking for the president
I haven't explored nearly any of the north yet and have only done Megaton, Rivet, and Lamplight.

Yeah, you are almost done. It would be a good idea to finish all the exploring / sidequests after you
escape from Raven Rock. There is only like 1 quest after that in the main storyline.

I'm collecting Nuka Cola Quantums for a quest. I need 30 and I have 8. I've been to the factory and I've got the list of places that got the first batch. I've been to Paradise Hills where I found 5 and I've picked up 3 in the factory... something tells me that I won't be getting the rest from just the two places left on the list. I want to see that guy getting it on with the Nuka Cola chick :(

Just keep playing, they're scattered everywhere. The three places on the shipping manifest only give you about 15 Nuka-Colas iirc, so you have to search for more anyway.

When I started the quest, I had already used up 4 or 5 Quantums, and I still managed to beat it. Takes a while, though. Definitely a quest that'll stick with you throughout the game, sorry.

How do I get into
vault 87?
I'm in lamplight caverns right now, but the I can't activate the door...
There are two ways from what I've seen...

1)
Talk to MacCready again and he'll open up "Murder Pass" and you can fight your way through to the door there. I didn't go this way, though because...

2)
...he told me about a kid named Joseph who was trying to get a computer working again that led into the Vault another way. If you find Joseph and have a "medium" level of computer expertise, IIRC, you should be able to fix the PC he leads you to and go in that way.

But wait, which door? Do you mean the main gate to actually enter the caverns at the start? If that is what you mean...

...you'll need to pay a visit to Paradise Falls, first.

I'm about 8 hours(level 4) in and haven't touched the main story since leaving The Vault. I'm playing semi-evil, more of an anti-hero . I won't hesitate to help or kill depending on which benefits me the most. For example I stumbled on to this NPC(and her dog) who had set up an impromptu shop in this ruined barn. I decided to try and rob her. Mostly, I was just experimenting since in the Elder Scrolls games shop inventory is separate from personal inventory. I was surprised to see that after killing her I had my pick of all the items she was selling as well as her caps + the caps I had given her to fix all my shit. I came away with a missile launcher, Chinese assault rifle, sniper rifle, a Combat Shotgun, a crap load of ammo, and two pieces of apparel that modified speech and barter +5 respectively.

Damn neither of those options work for me... I try talking to MacCready, and he doesn't give me either option...

my science skill = 52, speech = 100

:( I want to continue but it seems I'm stuck? :(

you need to talk to a little girl - talk to princess at the door first. and then go find macready. is all.

So where is Charon anyway? I haven't encountered her yet.

Also anyone know what happened to Clover after you get separated?
Charon is in
Underworld, he's working for a shop owner there. :p

If you tell Clover to scram she automatically goes back to Eulogy's pad iirc.

Yeah I've talked with Princess about everything, she didn't really give me any good options. Anyway I talked about everything with her, so I went back to Mac Cready and he has no new lines either.

:(

The game has really hit it's stride with me and I am loving Fallout 3 as an open world shooter. In this I think Bethesda has exceeded Stalker or the latest Far Cry as there is not only more to do with customizing your character but more to discover and explore.

I had no plans for my character's advancement and instead for the past twelve levels simply responded to what the game has thrown at me. When the shooting was getting tough, I upped my gun skills, when ammo was getting light I took the Scrounger feat, etc. It's created a rather well-rounded character that is starting to come into their own.

I took the moving stealth feat available at 12th level (whatever it's called) because I was sneaking out at night and it is awesome! During a long trek across the Wasteland to get to a new place I snuck completely up on a couple unaware Yao Guai and took them out with a Shiskabob. On and on I travelled and just as the sun rose I found myself at the top of a small canyon looking down into a big factory just crawling with raiders. It looked like a massive set piece but it wasn't even where I was going. I snuck in so close and started taking out guys until they were finally alerted to me. A dozen raiders later (thank you Railroad Rifle) and the game tells me I've found Evergreen Mills. Do I go in or continue with my selected quest?

It's stuff like this, stuff that pops out of nowhere that makes RPGs awesome and Fallout is doing that in spades.

Finally got my hard cover strategy guide yesterday! Spend a good two hours reading it. I hope that guides have a hardcover option from now on, my ME guide is falling apart.

Went to the Robot factory for the survival quest and it took a couple of days to clear it out. I don't think i got everything as well as I could have, but I came in to that place with 34/210 weight and came out with 865/210. Then it took a good hour to crawl back to megaton by foot lol.

Do you guys walk around with an npc or just solo it? If they die, that's it for them?

is your sneak at a 100 by this point besides the stealth perk?

I'm having the same problems as you. I just chalked it up to needing the Child at Heart Perk. :(

Yeah I thought about that as well, but this is a main quest, so it's weird.

Did you try reloading an older save yet? I might try that later..

No, not yet. I haven't been back sense then, so maybe it'll have resolved itself. I've been exploring the wastes again and getting my character up to level 20.

It's called The Nuka-Cola Challenge and is picked up in Girdershade when you talk to Sierra. Girdershade is located in the southwest corner of the map, the settlement is built under a highway.

I had something pretty interesting happen last night. I ended up running into two bandits, one with a club and another with a rifle. The rifle guy stayed at range trying to snipe me while the other guy ran at me with the club. I ended up shooting him but not killing him and I guess he realised he was out matched in that fight so he just took off and ran away towards a bandit camp. At that time I killed the rifle guy and wondered where the hell the other guy went.

When I went over towards the empty camp he started running towards me but this time he had either swapped or grabbed a Flamer. I ended up killing him as well but that just struck me as an awesome use of AI. That bandit actually went and picked up a better weapon when he realised he was outgunned.

One bad thing is that the game at a few times last night seemed to pause and freeze for a good 15-20 seconds while in vats. I thought the game had froze (which has happened to me twice so far) but it would always snap out of those freezes most of the time. Anybody else get that with the PS3 version? My PS3 isn't connected to PSN so it's not the friends list glitch.

:lol This game is awesome. So I was doing some random exploring, this wastelander ran up to me saying help these raiders strapped her with explosives. I watched her blow up as I :lol following by eating her remains for health. Then I found this raiders base with a bunch of slaves and a behemoth caged up. Killed all the raiders, got some sick loot, killed the behemot slowly while it was caged up and freed up the slaves. I expected at least a thank you however they just said whats the point of running, they will just catch us anyway. So I got pissed off and killed them. I went to do some more exploring, came upon a talon merc based. These guys pissed me off as they kept hunting me down. So I went ahead, spent like 2 hours killing all of them and finally there commandor. Btw did he has some importance since I noticed he actually had a name. Did anybody else convince the lopez guy in Rivet City to commit suicide

Well, after all my play time I can safely say I was right. This is my favorite game of the generation and maybe ever. It's absolute perfection. I love the setting, the quests, VATS, the perks, the sense of humor, the music, the challenge, the characters and the story.

I will never get rid of this game. It's a must play, must own title if I ever saw one.

With a tag like Pedobear, what exactly did you do with those children? :lol

Btw I'm reading all these quests I haven't even encountered yet. One thing I don't like about the game, not enough quests. Tenpenny Tower? Elimate the ghouls, Rivet City, steal the DOI. More quests please!!
