Has it been patched now?

Been playing it for quite some time now and I haven't encountered any bugs yet and it plays great in my opinion. No problems at all and it looks good.

Never played the 360 version so can't compare it to that one but I played the PC version for over 60 hours.

I'm playing the PS3 version and I think i've stumbled into a bug. I'm doing the head of state mission got as far a taking the slaves back to the Lincoln Memorial. The slavers were down to 4 members last time i looked and the leader is dead. Thing is theres no slavers at the memorial so the slaves go to kill the rest and no-one is there, they just hang around inside the memorial saying the slavers are out there somewhere. I've waited 48hrs+ and nothing has changed. Is this a bug or are they waiting for the rest of the slavers to turn up at the memorial after initially going to the temple of the union?

Hey guys I am getting back into Fallout 3, and I was wondering do people still fall to their death in Megaton?I know they patch it just making sure.

To the best of my knowledge, that was patched in one of the first updates. Shouldn't be a problem anymore.

Christ, I finally got 1.6 installed after using some weird Windows boot option. Now to throw the mods back on and get to Point Lookout eventually...

Question about leveling up in the 360. I started playing the game after buying it launch day lol.

I know you get significantly more points by playing the higher difficulties, if I play it on Normal / Hard will I be able to reach the Level 20 cap / 30 cap in the DLC. Or can I get there by playing on easy / very easy.

I'm having trouble with groups of super mutants so I've been altering the difficulty as I go along.

Any exp glitches that haven't been patched?

I read about a speech challenge one in Big town but I heard that was patched.

The Sandman glitch is back in the point lookout dlc. Easy way to rack up exp

hmmm I was hoping to get to the DLC after I was completely finished the main game. Does this have to do with the Sandman Perk?

Edit:

ah I found it, cool thx.

I thought I fucking stopped the Super Mutants from getting into Big Town. I mean, I shot the only Super Mutants that invaded for five minutes. So I leave Big Town and go do things for a while. Then I'm all "maybe I should go check in with Red on the whole android thing" and I get back and all that is there is a fucking Raider. WHAT THE FUCK? Then I read online that I missed out on a Lucky 8 Ball? WTF is this shit?

Is there any way to get those people back in there? Did the Super Mutants take them to Germantown again or something? Or are they fucked?

When I did the quest (using the Small Arms option) there were a 3 waves of mutants, and after the final wave I got a forced dialog with the townspeople in which they thanked me for saving the town. Also, Three Dog frequently talked about me saving the town on GNR. If you didn't get that, you probably didn't complete the quest.

If you play on Normal, you should be able to reach the level cap before completing all the DLC. I hit 20 before finishing the main quest and hit 30 before finishing Broken Steel. And I don't have The Pitt or Point Lookout.

You can always eventually get the XP so I should not worry about it too much. You will always find some enemies outside, and the game probably has enough scrap metal to hit the cap on that alone.

I found a funny story today. If you walk to vault 87 the way you are not supposed to the door is [INACCESSIBLE], you did pretty fast though with about 400 rads per second at 85% resist.

Anyone know of any issues with using a memory card to transfer FO3 game saves from one HDD to another HDD on the 360? I have RRoD and must return my HDD to Best Buy as part of their replacement plan. I figure I'll pop the drive on a friend's working Xbox to save what I need on a card, but I know from reading Microsoft's FAQs that "not all items are transferable"....

I think that refers to certain marketplace items, not game saves but I can't guarantee that.

That's pretty much what I figured, but I thought I would ask here. I'll just re-DL all my XBLA games and add-ons once I get the new hardware. There's a handful of game saves that it would KILL me to lose, namely FO3 and my PMCE high score.

I had that problem, too. For me, the slavers were waiting out in the direction of the front door of the Union. I wandered in that direction for a minute or so, saw markings on my radar - it was the raiders, and once I 'found' them, they started attacking.

I've played it and didn't really run into any problems. A few freezes here and there but nothing major (think 4 total). From what I've read all the versions have bugs that vary across each platform. I was locked out of the radio building but I think that can happen regardless of the platform you play it on.

Just waiting for the DLC now!

That's weird. I know there is a bug with meeting up with the slaves at the metro, but it sounds as if you already started the battle with the slavers.

Did you search all around all the sides of the memorial?

Thanks for the answers guys!

I went back to the town after saving everyone and never noticed a message to fight off some Super Mutants. There were some there and I took care of them (and my first huge radscorpion - tough ass), but I don't think I even went back to the town to chat to anyone. I walked up and down the road a bit looking for more mutants to kill and none showed up. I took off.
I went back there yesterday and the entire town is empty. I was completely stunned. I went back to the police station thinking that maybe they were stupid enough to get kidnapped again and no one was there.
I guess the town got wiped out. Sucks if I missed something but.......... oh well.

Awesome game though. I'm 46 hours into it and I haven't touched the left side of the map.

I got this off steam this past weekend for $25. I'm only 3 hours into it, but I can already tell this is going to be one of the best games I've ever played. It looks unbelievable at 1920x1080, though I had to turn anti-aliasing off and crank down the anisotropic filtering to get a good frame rate on my rig. It still looks really awesome and the first time I came up out of the vault and got a full view of the capital wasteland, I was blown away. It could very well be the best draw-distance I've ever seen in a game.

broken steel becomes activated as soon as you download it but the missions wont show up until you beat the main game

the other 3 are available as soon as you download. you'll get a message about a radio signal for each I believe.

... I'm guessing said content isn't on PS3 yet. Looks like they pushed the date back.

Obviously upgrade your hacking skills and if you are one guess shy, then quit out and go back in. Look for letter combinations based on 2 guesses to see any patterns. Hacking didn't get very difficult for me until later in the game partly because I grew up playing adventure games and my mind is sorta used to this thing.

Also if you want to cheat, here's a link w/ all the locations (you can go to the places with the most):
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Terminal

Basically if you want to do it quickly, it's a fools errand because you can just get it by organically going through the game if you check the computers in each area.
Thanks for the help. I'm actually rather good at hacking. It's pretty easy since they tell you how many letters are correct in any answer. If you go for a word that ends in -ing and there is say only one correct letter, you can automatically omit all words ending in -ing.

I am mainly interested in locations. Thanks a bunch! I'm on my second playthrough, and don't seem to be close to getting fifty hacks, for some reason, so I figured I needed some help.

... i just fought my 1st Fire Ant, and FA Warrior...

I'm fighting it and I'm like this:

"Whoa Fire Ant .. hmm cripple it... backing up... ok it's armor's a bit tough but why do people fear it? I'm wasting it with my Hunting Rifle... ok missed a shot, this guy is nothing lemme use my pistol... hmm it's kinda hunched up what's it doing OH MY FUCKING GOD I CAN SEE FOREVER!!!"

... Good Lord.

Finally disarmed the bomb. Thoughts on House upgrades:

My First Infirmary - SWEET.
My First Jukebox - Ultra Mega lame
My First Laboratory- Pretty good
My First Nuka-Cola Machine - Decent
My First Workbench - eh.

Of all the House themes (Raider, Wasteland Explorer, Vault, Science, Pre-War and Love Machine) Pre-War looks like the best just from the sheer amount of food/junk you get. Yikes!

Man I got back to Grayditch for the first time in a while and I ran up to those fuckers with a sledgehammer...

Well that's my problem. I employ no melee weapons at all, just guns, rifles, grenades, and of course a Fatman with a certain enemies' name on it. I'll make a Shishkebab or grab the Vampire's Edge (told by a GAFfer about it) sometime I guess.

Thoughts on House Themes?

Love and Science give you skill books I believe.

Yes, but I figure at Level 8 my Science is decent at 55.

True but you'll probably end up with more money than you'll ever so its a decent way to burn excess cash for something good.

True.

Holy crap 1740 caps for some of the items? I only have 1159... and I'm wearing a Barter +5 outfit!

1459 for Science? Can't even afford it...

I just played the evergreen mills scenario a few times then wondered why I let the raiders kill the behemoth when I could get xp, so I started again and only realized that I was level 20 and could not get xp after I was done killing them all again, then i quit without saving to post this...

I made stacks of caps repairing up assault rifles and chinese assault rifles from loot. Those raiders keep me in business!

I haven't got a house theme yet though, I just have the infirmary and lab. Is there a list of what comes with the themes anywhere? I did not know that they came with items.

anyone buy fallout 3 on steam for 50% off last week?

here's a little background, my computer is pretty new, the pc specs are: core i7 920 oc'd to 3.66, 6 gb ddr3 ram, gtx 260, etc

i downloaded and installed the game, when i go to start a new game, the game always crashes on the start of a new game, anyone have similar experiences with the game

i've bought crysis, l4d, witcher, and mirror's edge of steam w/out a hitch, what's up with this buggy pos??

All I can say is check your cache integrity and stuff with steam. Sorry!

I love Fallout 3, but making money is so hard! Also, how do I enable my repair skills? What is the minimum I have to put in the stat repair (If there is any :lol)

It's not that bad, armour and weapons are the real currency. It all adds up I guess.

Just had a great day in the wastelands. Finished the replicated man and found a dead trader by a supermutant camp. Got a mini nuke schematic and an office outfit.

I've ended up with over 80,000 caps. You just have to be dilligent about picking up stuff. I've ended up slow walking for 20 minutes or more in some cases just to get more stuff back to a place to sell it. It's also imperative that you pick up most/all weapons and build your repair skill early in order to be able to combine weapons into fully repaired items, which sell for more. There is also a perk you can pick up which gives you more caps for items. Choose this as soon as you can. I'll never be able to spend all I've accumulated....:lol

Hey I am going to try getting back into this game because I really want to love it. I am about level 15 and close to the end of the story. I really want to get Point Lookout, but I was thinking that I should also get Broken Steel to remove the level cap.

I was just wondering if it makes a difference if I buy Broken Steel before I finish the main quest? I know it lets you keep playing after, so I wasn't sure if it changed the ending in some way? Should I just finish the main quest before buying either DLC's?

I am asking so I can avoid spoilers. Thanks.

I loaded the Steam version last week and had no problems whatsoever. I finished it and most side quests today and had a blast (on very hard). Completed it in like 35h. Even on very hard I found it too easy in the end btw, some of the weapons are just too powerful. Even though I had a great time, I definitly wont buy the DLC. 50 bucks for all the dlc is simply too much money for some added content I think.

i finally figured out the problem, i guess the game has some issues with the Asus Xonar sound card, i downloaded the beta drivers and now the game works
