When I was clearing the place (Not for the ghouls, just me and Mr. Burke) I ran into my room while I was being chased and he lit my enemies on fire :lol

I like the fact that I can kill everyone in their rooms and no one really cares :lol

I have a habit of hiding the bodies, or putting them all on pool tables, desks, etc.

This part is really driving me batty. I'm at
Raven Rock
and
I just got my equipment back and exited the room. The guy stops me, and then the president assures him that I'm supposed to be allowed to go to his office unimpeded. All goes well until I get to the level 2 door, and then everybody starts shooting at me. Is this supposed to happen?
I asked Kev about it, and he said he got there without being attacked... so I must be doing something wrong.

Nah its cool, happened to me and I ended the area really well off for myself. You'll be fine.

This happened to me and I was confused, too. It's meant to happen, you're not doing anything wrong. If there's a way not to get shot at it's clear certain things must factor into it beforehand or something.

Where the hell is vault 112??

its driving me crazy!. i get into the ever greens foundry building because thats where the quest arrow is pointing!, but once im in there it points the opposite direction :/

So I decided not to blow up Megaton.

But I wanna see what it looks like when you blow it so I loaded an earlier save and am all set but I have no idea how to set it off. Do I just have to walk a far enough distance away, or am I supposed to have a detonator or something?

West of that location in a garage.

I've only done the main storyline for now. I am currently at almost 0 HP and have no money, barely any ammo and am in withdrawal from some drug. :lol

I have no clue what to do at this point.

Ouch. Alright this is what you do, first just look for any dirty matress in an abandoned building if you cant afford anything. You can use the map to quick travel if you dont wanna risk it. Oh and dont be afraid to eat irradiated food. You only get a little of the stuff...and its not that dangerous. Same with the water. As far as being in withdrawal, just stick with it, you'll get through. Just dont use the same drug again until you're over it.

Really just talk to people to see whats up or to learn of new locations without wandering around.

That and VATS really helps to hurt people, even with melee attacks. Best to kinda beat the crap that cant shoot you or harm you quickly. This is just the way I play though. Havent really touched the main quest yet though. Just helping out a resident....genius....with her work. Kinda half mutated now (internally anyway) and have a sorta greenish hue...so im not sure if that was healthy.

Press Prnt screen, pics should be in your main folder.

IT CAME FROM THE BLACK LAGOON
:lol
The hell was a protector droid doing underwater?

Oh and do weapons actually hurt certain things more regardless of damage rating? Say energy weapons hurting mechanical enemies more than biological stuff?

Alright, I rented this over the weekend and I need some help. I've done a couple of quests for the main story line (I just left Rivet City) but I'm completely broke, I'm addicted to something and I'm having withdrawal symptoms, I don't even know how to pick a lock, I have no health and no stimpacks. Can anyone point to a guide so I can learn about all this shit and also where I can stay in a bed where it doesn't cost over 100 caps.

Also, when does the game get fun. It's mostly scrounging for weapons and getting my ass beat by mutants. Where can I find some good weapons and more health. Also, how can I get some money. I only pick up a couple of caps off dead enemies.

Are you playing the game like a FPS or something? This is an RPG where resources are scarce, you need to use tactics to defeat enemies efficiently and conserve resources. You are not forced to do the side quests, but you will gain a lot from doing them. You will find new weapons and armor, gain much needed experience, make money and just become more powerful and skilled overall. I would imagine that this game would be very hard for someone who just tried to move through the main quests.

Personally I have played for about 15 hours and I am level 16 right now with an arsenal of weapons, a suit of Tesla power armor and lots of money and items stored in my Megaton house. I have progressed the story to the point where I learn how to use power armor so I figure I have quite a ways to go, especially considering that I still have a lot of areas to go and explore.

Pinkerton.
Fucking. Sucks.

Went up to him and figured I'd screw around with the facial reconstruction, but of course I can't just press B to back out and cancel the whole process. Not only that, but I can't change the hair type or add facial hair without messing with presets, which screws over whatever I had going in the custom thing. Gaaah >_<

I can't get tof hgame. I feel like I played more than 10 hours this weekend. That's probably the most I've played a non-MMO over a weekend in two or three years.

This & MGS4 are making an otherwise shitty year pretty great.

Wtf i still cant find it guys!

could someone be so kind enough and take a print screen of the map with the location?

i feel stupid :(

Eh there are tons of great games that came out/are comign out between August-December.

Seriously though, are different weapon types more effective on certain enemies?

literally due west from
evergreen hills
, get out of the ravine that is
evergreen hills
and hit it west from there. check your world map and make sure you are going due west and you should hit the building.

After having put over 8 hours in the PC version I just had to quit. I should get the 360 version in this week, and I'm really happy about that :).

My pc really sucks so the perfomance was laughable, graphics wise at least. The game still ran ok. But this is a game I really want to experience with the most bells and whistles that I can. I hardly touched the main quest in my PC go, but I think I'll go the same route as far as replies/actions go. I'm still going to kill that fucking butch..lol ^_^.

I might not kill the overseer though :). We'll see.
Anyway I can't wait to get started, again!

Btw, the only main mission I did was Tranquility Lane, without having done any previous main story quests. That was fucking weird :lol

Holy shit....I just finished. Really wasn't expecting that so quick. :lol
Fucking great game; I can't wait to reload earlier saves and start a sidequestin', and then I can play evil, and then, and then...OHH, THE POSSIBILITIES!
Anyways:

Love the windpipe hole.

Just beat it. Fantastic title, but rather short main story line. I was surprised to be honest. I'll definitely start side questing tomorrow night.

Is there an ETA on the SDK tools? I can't wait to get me some user mods.

Does Steve Meister still post here ?

If so, what's the feeling at Bethesda right now ? Are you guys all happy knowing that you pulled off what most people thought you couldn't ?

I'm not Steve, but I work there :) Everyone is thrilled at the response. As things came together in development, we knew it was shaping up to be something special, but it's awesome to see it confirmed by all the people playing and enjoying it. I'm always terrified of impressions threads, but the response has been tremendous so far. I love reading this thread and sharing the funny comments onto people in the office (thank you Chiggs).

Was just clearing out the Fire Ant subway tunnels and got some key from a corpse and his recording. I clamber out of the subway and find myself at the next station over from Gray Ditch and down the platform is a firefight ensuing. So I go into sneak mode and shuffle over.

What do I find? A crazy looking Brotherhood of Steel dude fighting a bunch of super mutants.

I pull out my hunting rifle in hopes of sniping and slowing these guys so they don't kill the knight in power armor. I target the right arms of 3 super mutants and bam, bam, bam, I disable 2 of them -- both tearing the limb right off their torsos and causing them to flip head over heels in their death dance. I duck out of sight and recover some AP, then jump out from behind a pillar and put all my AP into 56% headshots. 2 out of the 3 hits connect and the mutant flies back violently from the 2nd shot and crumples when he hits a garbage can.

To my left, I notice that a mutant has rushed my position and is now shooting fiercely with his hunting rifle. I switch over to my well-maintained Chinese assault rifle and pump 3 full volleys (9 rounds) into his torso. Not all of them connected and he's still standing, although the critical hit has crippled his torso (what does that do, anyway?)...

Without any AP points left, I decide to go full auto on his ass in real-time and he drops soon thereafter.

After the carnage, I mop up, grab a bunch of hunting rifle rounds and do some repairs.

Then I'm recruited by the Brotherhood guy in power armor to go rescue someone in a nearby building. Save. Exit. Time to eat dinner.

Awesome fucking game.

You burned out. Fallout has never been a game to hold your hand. Even with no health, no money, and addiction, there are still dozens of ways to rebuild. To get your health up, damn the rads and drink some sink water. For cash, either steal, or gather junk until you can afford weapons or ammo, and then kill some mole rats for cash until you get back on your feet. Doctors can cure addiction, but you have to stop using.

Is there a way to control the camera in the pc version so I can see the front of my character?

If you've got a mouse wheel, you can just click that in, hold it and spin the mouse around to the angle you want.

I'm really disappointed in how similar the game is to Oblivion. I never really kept up on the game but I figured they'd be using a new engine but I guess I was wrong. I still am enjoying the hell out of the game (like I did with Oblivion) but I was kind of hoping for something more refreshing in terms of game play.

I
just got done with that little 70's simulation, I loved the part where you had to kill all of the town's people. The last guy I had left was running down some stairs, I swung my knife, cut off his leg and watched in amazement as he flew down the stairs, only to have his head break off as he hit the wall!

Sadly, this is only a rent, but at this rate, I am definitely buying it!

Yeah, same thing happened to me, only change the save and exit part with "paladin gets blown the shit up by flaming car" on the way to rescue the kid.

Restarted a new character after learning that I'd wasted a fuckton of money on repairs when I could be repairing things on my own.

Made my character this time be much more of an ass. Going to play him rude and crude and he'll shoot off your face (unless there's a good reward for what yer offerin'!).

Already have 500 caps and I haven't done any of
Moira's quests
yet. I can smell the dough now!

I walked up behind a fire fight, and one raider was firing down at some guys next to the river. I got within feet of him and emptied a clip into the back of his head. His head tore off and made it almost across the river.

I love you Bethesda.

My first experience with a decapitation was a mole rat's face rolling a good 100 yards down a hill.

I couldn't stop laughing :lol

To be honest, I'm not really digging this game. When I first saw videos for it and read previews of the game, I was thinking it would be like The Road made into a video game. Well, it's not. It is Oblivion with guns.

Now don't get me wrong. I like Oblivion, but I was hoping Fallout 3 would be something different. I still haven't beaten Oblivion and I don't know if I have time to beat two games that are so similar. Not when there are so many great games that just came out or are coming out soon.

For those of you worried that this game is too similar to Oblivion, I'm sorry to tell you that you're right. It is, for better or worse.

I foolishly bought Oblivion and I hated the fuck out of it. On the contrary I'm enjoying the fuck out of FallOut3.

To each his own.

It doesn't sound like you've played the original Fallout games. It feels far more like they did than it does Oblivion. If you were expecting something other than Fallout shifted into a first person perspective it's little wonder you are disappointed.

I'm one of the people that got bored of Oblivion after a few hours. I'm on my second play through of FO3 and I've got at least one more to go when I'm done with this one.

You're right. I never played the other Fallout games. All I can compare this game to is Oblivion, and they are really similar. Same type of dialog, same type of quests, same type of graphics, etc etc.

Man, I can't get enough of this game. Walking up to Rivet City for the first time at night was amazing. I love the combat, and I love having Jericho as an ally. He covers me while I sneak in close and decapitate suckers with a shotgun blast. Slow motion decapitations in VATS never get old. EVER. I had to force myself to quit for the evening. It's 10:30 and I haven't even eaten dinner yet.
