FERAL GHOUL SWARM nothing like fighting 20 at once :D

Last... week of the... month? I'm so sad now. Why did you do this to me?

The Vault (Fallout wiki) suggests that it has an "early March" target. I'm so sad.
Honestly, the time frame is a guess. Bethesda hasn't said anything beyond March, but if it was sooner they probably would have said more by now.

The Pitt looks and sounds awesome but I think I'm gonna hold off till the Broken Steel DLC is released and the level cap is raised.

Bethesda Softworks has announced that The Pitt, the second downloadable expansion for the PC and Xbox 360 versions of Fallout 3, will be released on 24th March.

As previously announced, The Pitt will share the same price point as January's Operation: Anchorage: 800 Microsoft Points (GBP 6.80 / EUR 9.60).

Sounds better than initial impressions of Anchorage, still waiting to get all 3 at once, so I can level up from 20 to 30 using them.

Well, there's another reason for me to hold off on Pitt, that's when I leave for Miami for WMC...

Now there's a date, March 24th :)

whats with this patch tho, no updates on bugs or vats issues? or are we prolly getting a post pitt release patch soon after?

im using fallout Wanderers Edition and it kinda masks it abit (cept the 2/3 sec vats delay) and I know to avoid the accuracy perks on this playthrough

Any other good sites for downloading some mods, Fallout 3 Nexus is giving me a whopping 10kB/s which makes downloading the smallest stuff take forever.

Same here. I've stopped playing until the level cap is raised. I've basically discovered almost everything on the map (just wandering around, without guides or anything). I'm at level 20, maxed out weapons, armor, etc. I'm about halfway through the main quest. The last few things on the map, the final parts of the main quest, and the DLC is on hold until I can get my hands on Broken Steel.

Being that i own the pc version, is the DLC on the pc version, and if so where can i get it? is it free, is it worth it?> is it worth buying it before completing the game once?
will it screw up my mods?

I just recently started my second evil karma play through. And WOW is it so much easier at the beginning. If you start with a high enough explosives to blow up megaton you are set up perfectly. I even capped Roy Phillips at the gate first time I saw him and picked up his weapon.

Compared to my first play through, which was a fucking pitched battle for 5 hours before I got the resources to stock up, this is a cake walk.

Negative karma is the way to go. :D

I've had a nasty thought - what if the raising of the level cap isn't just turned on once you download the DLC? What if you have to earn it first by finishing the mainquest? They could say that all the
radiation in the Jefferson Memorial
caused you to mutate. They'd give you a perk for completing the mission which would then unlock the level cap to 30.

I doubt they'd do it this way, but if they did it would keep with the story of the game.

For the people worried about wasting XP. Do you have like literally hundreds of saves?

What Im going to do is just play the DLC now for fun then when the 3rd pack comes out Im going to reload from a save just after or before I hit lvl 20 then play through everything again that I played since I hit lvl 20. Including the first 2 DLC packs.

Not an ideal scenario but I dont want to wait another 2months before I can play more Fallout.

Anyone think the PS3 will get at least the last DLC. I just about got my 1st platinum trophy and I am debating where to get rid of the game.

Same here. I got my platinum, and I'm in complete Fallout 3 withdrawl. Hopefully they will at the very least release a "GOTY Edition" with that content.

Holy crap where and why did that happen? I've been attacked by five or six tops.

And also that picture quality is amazing. I played on the 360, and it looked good, but on your PC it's like a whole other level. That Bethesda made a truly open world game that looks that good up close is rather amazing.

Can someone please explain the Fallout 3 mod manager for me?

I'm trying to install the HD textures pack and the enhanced blood effects pack, in addition to better night skies and a few others.

I thought that, via Package Manager, you can just add the archived (.zip, .7z or whatever) folder and it would install it into the game? But nothing really seems that different, so I have no idea if it's working. Thanks!

Me too. I played a bit yesterday. I am really trying to draw out the last few quests for a reason to keep the game longer.

Reposting for new page!

The mod manager launches ESP and ESM files, which shall be copied into the main Fallout 3 directory. As for textures, you need to follow the instrucions packaged with them and place them into their respective folders.

Got a link to the HD texture pack, btw?

So what's the purpose of the Package Manager? From the website for FOMM, it sounded like you should be able to install mods just by adding the archive folder through there...just a little confusing.

YEah, but I think that's for content files like .esp and .esm files. Textures needs to be copied to their respective folders as far as I know.

"ZombieSupaStar" knows best, though. So maybe you'll just PM him and wait for his reply.

the pitt is looking great, I can't wait :)

how does the pitt work? You get to fast travel to pittsburgh? or is it a simulation.

Looks good either way.

look a few pages back there are some previews of it, its not a simulation, you take a "train" to get there

With FOMM I'd just install the stuff 'manually', copy the files into the correct directory, and just use it to order the mods (needed for some). Wonder if they'll make an .omod type system for it.

Can anyone tell me what this runs like on a MacBook Pro (unibody) in CrossOver? I'm thinking about trying it out but no way am I laying down the bones on the abandonware PS3 version.

Are there any mods out there that make animations/movement more fluid? I would play in 3rd person mode more, but the difference between FP and 3P is night and day with vanilla settings. :/

You do realize you can manipulate the camera in 3rd person so it kind of looks like Gears of War from shoulder view.

I do. It's still jarring. The main character moves like a tank and feels a bit floaty, unfortunately. :(

I would prefer to play in 3rd person since I don't get motion sickness that way, but the animation is totally throwing me off.
