don't worry! just make everything in the mods persistent!, that will only give us 3 gig save games! HUUUUUURR DERRRRRRRRRPPP!

I'm convinced the Beth QA just farts around all day thinking, "Eh, the modders will fix it."

Hmm, there's a new quest that takes place in
Megaton
, I wonder how that will work for the folks who
blew it up
.

Hopefully they just dont get the quest. That Moira ghoul bullshit was the height of player coddling.

fucckin fuck yeah.

Im back in DC baby. This time, Im never leaving.

Same here. I downloaded it, jumped back into my game and I was like "Holy fuck, I missed this shithole." I haven't played it in months but now that I know I can just play all the way through to 30, I don't know that I'll ever stop. I ended up downloading Anchorage and The Pitt immediately, just to have more places to find.

And then I ran across this Roach King dude in the middle of nowhere? Fucking nuts. I missed this game.

Ok Im really in a bind here.

I need some opinions on something. When Bethesday say it will take the same amount of time to get from 20 -> 30e as it did to get to get from lvl 1 -> 20, do you guys buy that?

My problem is I have completely clocked the map. Explored everywhere, and found pretty much everything. So I know I have to replay some shit, thats cool. So I figured I would reload just after I hit lvl 20 and play from there.

The thing is though I have played for soooooo long after that point and just done so much, that playing this now trying to disregard everything I have done just feels kinda stupid. IM thinking maybe that claim about getting to lvl 30 was just an exaggeration and maybe I dont have to load such an early save.

What say anyone? I need to be told what to do. I just dont want to find myself not being able to to hit 30, but maybe even worse will be hitting 30 way before clocking the map to the point that Im at now...

Me too. I'm just going to go through the new content and see where I'm at, but yeah I guess there is a possibility we could be stranded at like level 27 with not much to do but kill raiders.

On that note I wonder how much XP is given for "completing" the game proper now?

There is always the possibility of new DLC packs, like the one that was talked about to be bundled with the Broken Steel disc release in the future.

Well its a fact that just playing through the new stuff wont get you to 30. So hopefully you have at least some wasteland exploring to do.

I am sort of in the same bind. I guess I am going to have to go into all those locations I marked on the map. I hit 20 several hours before beating the game.

Don't bother downloading the Broken Steel pack right now if you have the PC version. I've downloaded it twice now and the files are corrupt. I checked gamefaqs and it appears that everyone is having this problem.

Has it pwned any game saves on 360 or anything? I agree about the getting to level 30 thing, I was expecting 100,00 exp for level 30! 3k=4k per level is OK I guess! I just finished Tranquility Line last night! I put the game on Hard. Goddam O_O it sometimes takes 5 shots to kill some enemies! I'm level 18 and half now I shouldn't get to high to fast right, or should I just put it down to normal?? I get about 40exp per enemy

I dont really understand what youre saying there.

Could you be a little clearer? You saying it doesnt take as long to lvl up as you thought?

i would love LOVE to buy one of these DLCs. LOVE TO.

but the game still won't launch. not a single solution for fixing the various crash issues have worked. no one on the official forums knows why.

so basically i have a broken game sitting on my hard drive and 40 bucks down the drain :\

Damn. I feel for you.

So WTF is going on? Have Bethesda, Microsoft even said anything? What fucking annoying thing.

Apparently new achievemens arent updating gamerscore.

Anyone here have that problem? Im still trying to decide which save to load so I havent unlocked anytyhing yet.

I was thinking level 30 would be 100k exp, not 66k, and also with me getting 40exp per enemy, would I get to level 30 to fast, I have 14 quest or so left, including side quests!

I've purchased every one of the PC version DLC packs (with this most recent one not working whatsoever) and every time I have to do the file move trick to get them to work properly. I think its fucking ridiculous that they haven't even attempted to fix this issue. But at least I am able to play the game. That sucks dude

Bougth.

Oh man how I love buying xbox live addons while on work knowing that as soon as I arrive home and turn the console on it will start downloading while I prepare my lunch. Only on Xbox360©.

38 minutes to left!

Apparently some people are having problems with the 360 DLC and achievements. Would someone remind me what Microsoft quality control and content screening is for again?

I'm not worried about achievements. Thanks.

i had no issues getting a regular achievement after loading the DLC

the problem is not the achievement, its apparently the gamerscore doesnt get added to your GS from those achievements.

No biggie, but annoying.

For those folks that have already explored 100% of the map, I kind of feel sorry for you, but it really is your fault. You all knew that the level cap was going to be increased. Playing through the entire game at the cap was and is a waste of experience. This is more the developers fault then yours though. The level cap should have never been that low in the first place.

Personally, I have a few side quests left to complete
Head of State
Oasis
The Superhuman Gambit
Trouble on the Homefront
Agatha's Song
Stealing Independence

not to mention I haven't played through Operation Anchorage or The Pitt which I already purchased.
Still haven't found 100 map locations or collected all the bobble heads.

So I have plenty left to do to make it to Level 30.

perk list follows, not sure if its considered a spoiler I can remove tag if not

Lv. 22:
Deep Sleep - Get the well rested bonus in any bed
Puppies! - new Dogmeat everytime he dies
Quantum Chemist - Every 10 Nuka colas you acquire are automatically converted into a Quantum

Lv. 24
Devils Highway - Karma is instantly set to Very Evil
Escalator to Heaven - Karma to Very Good
Karmic Rebalance - Karma to Neutral
No Weakness - All SPECIAL stats less than 5 become 5

Lv. 26
Nerves of steel - Faster AP regen
Rad tolerance - no effects from minor rad poisoning
Warmonger - All custom weapon schematics added to your inventory

Lv. 28
Party Boy - No alcohol withdrawal
Rad Absorption - Rad level decreases automatically over time

Lv. 30
Almost Perfect - All SPECIAL stats become 9 (Not sure if this will lower your 10's?)
Nuclear Anamoly - At 20 HP or less you explode and do insane damage to everything around you, including your allies

I think I will make an Intelligence 1 Character :lol and find skillbooks. I will also pick up all those cool high level original perks like Ninja, Paralyzing palm etc that I missed out on as these perks suck!

Lv. 22:
Deep Sleep - I guess this is an ok perk, but do you still get a Karma Loss for sleeping in someone else's bed?
Puppies! - Dogmeat is pretty much worthless.
Quantum Chemist - Um..I don't really use Nuka Cola very often. I guess this will help people trying to complete the Nuka Cola Challenge.

Lv. 24
Devils Highway - All these Karma perks are interesting, but only really worth doing if you get the achievements you want. Raising and lowering Karma isn't that difficult.
Escalator to Heaven -
Karmic Rebalance -
No Weakness - Most of my Stats are above 5 already.

Lv. 26
Nerves of steel - This is probably the best perk out of the bunch.
Rad tolerance - was Radiation ever a problem?
Warmonger - I think I have most of the schematics if not all of them.

Lv. 28
Party Boy - I never used alcohol in the game, is there a real benefit?
Rad Absorption - I guess this is ok, but once again when was RAdiation ever a problem?

Lv. 30
Almost Perfect - This is nice as long as it doesn't lower your stats..nothing a bobble head won't fix...
Nuclear Anamoly - Not sure the point of this...

I think I will make an Intelligence 1 Character :lol and find skillbooks. I will also pick up all those cool high level original perks like Ninja, Paralyzing palm etc that I missed out on

MEH..thoughts above..

The perks look like they're designed for people that fucked up the first time through. :lol

So is it true that this DLC changes the ending of the game? I made sure to keep a save file for my level 20 character right before I began the final quest.

Haven't played since I beat it, really. But now I can't wait to jump back into my 360 2008 GOTY. :D

from gamespot forum -

"All 10's stay the same. If any SPECIAL stat is below 9, it will become 9. If you already have a Bobblehead for the stat, it will not boost it to 10."

This means that bizarrely, the way to attain a maxed character (10 in all SPECIAL) is to NOT pick up the bobbleheads until getting this perk.

in a way its kind of cool, it means if you start a new character you can make the one you want (rather than min/maxing)

I guess the bright side to these medicore perks is that you'll be able to pick up the perks you weren't able to before. You really will be pratically invincible by level 30.

Its not like the game was hard anyway. Its just more coddling.

Useless perks. I dont understand how developers can be so dumb sometimes. I couldnt be more serious in that statement too.

Like you said, at least we still have access to the earlier perks.

Goddamn they fail so hard.

No kidding. I don't know what the point of a certification process is when it appears that they did not even test the content to see if it worked at all. Bethesda deserves alot of the blame, but I take issue with a certification process that fails to catch even the most obvious of bugs

People are reporting that it's back up in some regions, and that the newly patched file is around 750MB's, which is a lot more than the original file.

The bugtesters @ Bethesda are fucking awful. Their games always have a shit load of bugs, the patches don't really fix much of them, they actually create more bugs and the DLC is buggy too.

I need to play Fallout 3 in a window or else it will crash every few minutes...
It has more bugs than Oblivion and that already had lot's of bugs. They even imported bugs from Oblivion into Fallout, like the disappearing objects...

Ok, I bought it but quickly canceled when I heard about the achievement glitch. Whenever I go to re-download it again, the file is still approximately 620 MB. 360 version, btw.

Has it been fixed on the NA marketplace yet? And if it has, will that MB file update or am I stuck with the glitched one because I bought it?

I doubt it.

All this problems are tempting me to wait for a retail release of broken steel, It's only like 20 days till the release ofthe first two
