After more than 175 hours in the game and all DLCs I'm finally Fallout-fatigued. I guess after so many hours in a single player experience I shouldn't be surprised.. Overall a fantastic gaming experience.
So, I hope the developer aren't focusing too much on more DLC but are well into working on the next game, because even I as a big fan can't imagine buying more DLC for this game now.
Wow, have to love how fucking bug riddled The Pitt is. I'm in the Steelyard collecting ingots and every time I try walking on the factory roof I fall straight through the geometry. Save/environment reloading did nothing so I'm currently redownloading the content. This shit better not persist.
I had this same problem... though I was able to get to the left to fall and land on that ledge to get those ingiots. Seriously if I didn't follow a visual walkthrough I wouldn't have found them all. That "fall through the roof" crap really got me annoyed...
on the X360 version, does installing Fallout 3 to the hard drive make it run any better? my game freezes all the time and im wondering will that make it any better ?

They've already said that they'll release the followup DLC to Broken Steel at appropriate intervals on the PSN. Makes sense to give people the chance to buy and digest a single piece of DLC before releasing the next.
I'd love to have had it all at the same time as the other platforms but at least we're getting it all, which hasn't been the case with all deals like this. I'm waiting for the GOTY edition anyway (Hoping they do a new guide for it as well).
Are either Anchorage or the Pitt worth downloading? I started playing again recently, and played through Point Lookout and playing through Broken Steel and they're pretty good so far, so are the other two up to the same standard. Or should I just wait until Zeta and see how that is. Not sure if I would actually buy any of these though, got like 4k MS points from the Coke deal a few months back :lol

I had to time that jump just right... under normal circumstances you'd just go to the back-left of the roof and "fall off" but jumping made you go just a little bit higher and when I landed I had 1 bar of health...
Decided to go back to Point Lookout to get more XP and the Bog Walker achievement and ran into the Blackhall Manor quest. Wow that was pretty fucking intense! Even with a stat of 100 in small guns :lol . So I decide I give the guy the book and
I'm playing good right? So he goes down into his fucking cellar, he has a dead swampfolk dude lying there, and he's doing some voodoo shit on this guy. I talk to him and say some shit about wtf are you doing. He says get out, I just couldn't let that guy sit there. Fucking blew his brains out, no negative karma. Sweet. Fucking freaks!

Also, you can give the book to Obadiah, get the caps, then kill him for no karma loss. Now you can take the book to Dunwich and destroy it, but you'll get no reward save for peace of mind.
After Zeta, I think Beth is done. At least for a long time. They've got Elder Scrolls V in development, not to mention other projects. All DLC combined, there's close to 30 hours - minimum - of gameplay for ~$40. I can't wait for whoever's holding out for the GOTY edition. They're going to be literally bombarded with shit to do.

That is going to be one to keep an eye on. From the sounds of it Obsidian was eager to do it, meaning they're going to pack this fucking thing with all they've got. 2010...
Getting constant crashes/freezing now, had a few when playing the Point Lookout stuff, but nothing too serious. In the underground section of a Broken Steel mission and it's just constantly freezing, tried turning off pretty much every mod, removed the OC on my GPU and CPU to check if it was that, and I disabled HDR and bloom and still no solution. It's a complete pain, and I imagine the people on my friends list hate me for signing in and out every 30 seconds.
I tried downloading the Unofficial Fallout 3 patch and that hasn't solved it either. Think I'll reinstall the game later and see if that solves anything.

A clean install always helps. I've done it twice with this so far. It was weird because I played Point Lookout without a hitch, then I crash three times within hour back in the wasteland.
Sorry if it's a stupid question but is there even a point to not hit the head or Torso every time in V.A.T.S mode unless the & is absurdly low. I tried shooting a soldier in the arm thinking he would not be able to use it but after dropping his gun he just picked up another one and continued shooting as if nothing happened. The fact that the dmg output is so low makes it seem useless.

* Crippling the head will reduce overall accuracy and perception of the target. If inflicted upon the player, the screen will intermittently get fuzzy and a ring will be heard through the speakers, loosely simulating the effects of a concussion.
* Crippling the torso will result in the target flinching far more often from shots than normal. This can also affect the player throwing off aim and stopping your attacks momentarily.
* Crippling an arm will result in any weapon reliant on that arm for holding to be dropped, and will also drastically reduce accuracy. This is particularly evident when the player uses a scoped weapon such as a Sniper Rifle. The weapon itself is not destroyed, and they will likely just pick it back up again.
* Crippling a leg will result in impaired mobility. Creatures who rely on leaping attacks (e.g. deathclaws) will no longer be able to use them.
* Crippling the held weapon will ruin it and make it unusable, and/or send it flying out of the target's hand. Although the condition is zero and it can't be used, it can still be collected and repaired, or used for repairs. The player's weapon may be damaged by enemy fire as well. If the player's weapon CND reaches 0, it will be unequipped as opposed to flying out of the player's hands. If it is an explosive ordinance (like a frag grenade), it will explode, dealing its damage to the target holding it (and any others nearby). Grenades can be targeted by V.A.T.S. while in the air after being thrown as well; As long as the game isn't updated. The 1.4 update (or later) removes the ability to target "en-route" grenades and missiles.
* Some enemies have alternate targets: Robots, ants, and others have special targetable parts that when crippled will push them into a frenzied state, where they no longer discern between friend and foe and attack anything.
Going to have to check this out. I didn't make anything my first play through. This time I'm trying to do all the stuff I missed the first time, including using all the schematics.

I find the dart gun, shishkebab and nuka cola grenades are the best. the railway rifle is pretty neat too.
the shishkebab does a ton of damage especially if you get the pyro perk
the dart gun you only need one of since it will cripple regardless of its condition.

I feel sorry for everyone that's not playing this game on Very Hard. I can't revert back to Normal, it's too easy. Aiming for the head all of the time gets pretty boring too.
where you go back to vault 101. I talked to the overseer and convinced him to open the damn thing, and then Amata kicks me out lol. I can't believe it. Talk about being betrayed. Do I ever see any of them again or do they stay down there the rest of the game getting ready?
As for normal being too easy, maybe I am playing it wrong, but the first few levels were harsh. Running out of ammo, running back to megaton to sleep in the bed all the time, and this is while trying to get headshots I'm 12 now, but there is still some stuff that can give me a run for my money.

So, one thing in the game that always weirded me out a bit...
out of all the vaults you uncover, why is 101 the only one which still has a semi-thriving human population? Why have all the other vaults either home to crazed mutants, or the people have killed each other off? It would have been cool seeing another vault with survivors in it
Gonna re-up. I played one character all the way through during the holidays last year PS3 version.
I'm going to buy the 360 version tonight, I think.
Not looking through this entire thread what is considered a challenging but useful build.
My PS3 character had small guns, sneak, lockpick, repair and whatever went over went into energy weapons. That character was a breeze...I don't want that again.

Because voice actors are expensive and something like Vault City would harsh their "VISION" for the Capital Wasteland. They did mention a control vault (similar to Vault 8/Vault City) in the game though so maybe we'll see it in Fallout 4. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Vault_76
Today I learned a lesson in facing some of the tougher enemies in the game for the first time.
So I was trying to travel to the RobCo. area to find some more Mole Rats for the optional quest for the Wasteland Survival Guide. I spend 20 minutes exploring and killing scads of RoboBrains until I finally hit the VAPL-84 Power Station. I see a truck and see what I thought was a Mole Rat.... unfortunately I met my first Yao Guai. I had heard stories about them and promptly greeted it with a missile to the face. I stared in amazement as it shook it off and kept coming, but at least it was was crippled. 2 shotgun blasts and Dogmeat's help finally put it down. I headed immediately to the facility (met Tinker Joe but his stupid robot didn't like me, WTF?), killed Rats with the Repellent Stick and Fast-Traveled to Megaton to unload. So I Fast-Travel back after updating the quest ... WHY WAS THERE A FRIGGIN' DEATHCLAW 20 FEET AWAY?
Of course, it seemed to notice me before I could shoot it. There was a gated area next to me, but I was afraid I wouldn't close the gates in time. I quickly backed away and shot a missile at it and it just seemed pissed hardly slowed down. Shot a second after the 5-second reload out of V.A.T.S but it only glanced it. Laser Rifle'd it twice and it still was coming... then Dogmeat wanted to be a hero and rushed it. I panicked and switched to a Combat Shotgun and pelted it 6 times out of V.A.T.S to finally off it before Dogmeat died. Good Lord those suckers are huge.
But the capper was Anchorage Memorial. Went there
to clear the area so I could easily do the WSG Mirelurk quest
and found the place was effing HUGE underground. I spent like an hour minutes killing Mirelurks (goddamn Mirelurk Hunter), searching for swag and raiding bodies. I learn the semi-hilarious story of the place and get to an Office area with a huge hole in the ground. I tell Dogmeat to stay and kill a few Mirelurks. I venture deeper into the underground pool and suddenly see a large enemy with outstretched arms. I'm like "WTF an underground Deathclaw? What is it?".
Now I'm guessing it was the newness combined with the fact I don't like underground areas, but for some reason I completely flip out. I didn't even bother with missiles, I go for my newly-created Nuka Grenade. I toss the sucker and the resulting explosion was something out of Die Hard it was so beautiful ... yet he was still alive. He shot some blue thing at me (which did nothing) and I responded by sending Dogmeat and four more shotgun blasts. Upon it exploding into pieces I finished my descent into insanity and shouted, "What? WHAT HAPPENED???? Don't start nothing you can't finish!!! Trying to roll up on me with your arms all outstretched like you're gonna raise the roof, and now look at you! You all in pieces!! You the King of SHIT!!!"
... needless to say I soon turned the game off and will not touch it until Saturday night at the earliest. I need to play some BioShock or a nice, normal JRPG about kids shooting themselves in the head... Good Lord.
