I dug up awesome VLC streams for BBC1/2/3 [far better than any stream on various illegal streaming sites that i found so far] . Hopefully it will last until the Sunday.

Can someone tell me, do they air practice sessions on regular BBC chanells, or do they leave that for the "red button"?

Awesome banner.

Joined F1 race manager, gone for a total Lotus team (because it leaves me with 14mil in the bank), now here's hoping their reliability isn't an issue this year. Wanted Di Resta, but that leaves me 1mil in the red.

I don't think I'll decide on my line up until Friday practice, I haven't followed testing much and have no idea on the real pace of the cars this year. Pretty sure on my fuel however.

Looks good. Since it's checkered, I thought I'd make a quick and nasty adjustment (hence the hat and logo) but I think yours is fine as it is.

Every session is streamed live on the BBC Sport site too.

If you know how to use proxies that might be the better option. You'd probably be able to switch between the different streams and view the driver tracker.

Even with proxies i think i need to apply some TV licence code. Can anyone PM me with details [proxy info and licence info]? Does iplayer support HD streams?

Ditto. I'd love it if using Header Modifier for firefox and setting up a X-Forwarded-For for a UK address would allow streaming to work.

That's amazing. I've always wanted to see an F1 car on that track. I hope we get onboard footage.

It's a shame that Australia has world-class driver tracks, but that they lack the infrastructure to host an F1 GP.

Bathurst and Phillip Island would both make for amazing GP's otherwise.

Are there any decent sport torrent sites that upload F1 races? Now they're being broadcast in HD I'd rather be able to download them then rely on the iPlayer (which is sometimes dodgy, and I don't always want to stream 3 hours of HD during my peak internet times)

Looks fantastic.

What should I put under standings and heading? I was going to use these for the OP. Maybe one of them should be Calendar?

I have no idea? :p
So Calendar instead of Heading?
Having Calender and Tracks seems kinda redundant thou. Guess i'll remove Tracks then

And standings is supposed to be current championship standings i assume

...I'm assuming you mean a specific part of Australia? :p

Well Bathurst is in NSW and Phillip Island is in VIC and while both are great tracks and driver favourites, they aren't up to spec for F1. It's impossible to move in Phillip Island when Moto GP is on.

Where would you want the Aus GP if they shaft Albert Park?

Sounds good.

Standings will be updated in every preview, but going into the season there wouldn't be any standings yet.

Adelaide was a street circuit yeah? Did the lose it for a reason or was it just that were out-bid? I'd love to see another Adelaide GP. I was too young to ever go in person, but it was a great track from the videos I've watched of it.

EDIT: I'm right in thinking that the track used for the V8 Supercars has seen significant changes since it's F1 days am I not?

The Vic government just offered Bernie more money.

As for the track, it is currently used by V8Supercars in a shorter form, but the full length track would be easy to use if decided.

Oh, I see. I enjoy the track a lot in the V8 season. Always seems to make for a interesting race.

Hamilton seems to have taken a swing at Red Bull after Horner's comments about him not tolerating another barren year.

"Red Bull are not a manufacturer, they are a drinks company," he told The Guardian. "It's a drinks company versus McLaren/Ferrari history. I don't know what their plan is.

Yeah, it did in F1 too. One of the rare street circuits that had a sweeping corner, and some proper overtaking spots. Albert Park is a good track, no doubt, but I grew up with the Adelaide GP being the only one shown on TV, and I have great memories of that race. The year I moved to Adelaide, Vic stole the race! :D

I don't like Horner, he can never tell the truth (or does a very bad job at lying, take it either way).

Domenicalli & Alonso are the best combination. Their accents are brilliant, always makes my weekend :p

It's bizarre. I feel like I like a lot about RBR but in reality, I'm just glad that someone like Webber has an awesome car. They're good at what they do technically but personality/PR-wise I can't stand them.

Gonna be very interesting what happens this year (with Webber) now that they've signed Vettel up for a massive contract. I'd love to see less controversy (driver-wise) and a more even backing from the team... but it's probably not going to happen. If not, I'd just love to see them squirm when they fuck up and get Mark offside again.

eh, don't hate on that man. while he is the team principal for RBR, it's quite obvious he doesn't have the final word in quite a lot of team matters.
Newey and Mateschitz do and Vettel is their boy.

Have you guys seen the footage of Helmut Marko laying blame on Webber after his collision with Vettel?
He's keeps going on about how he should have just let Vettel pass because Hamilton was a looming threat, and that Vettal was being held up. The journo then says 'if that was the case then did the team at any point communicate that to Webber?' and he stands there is silence for about 10 seconds before saying it wasn't managed particularly well.

I feel the the same as Shaneus, I quite like the team but after last year I just want their management team to piss off. They seem spineless.

Ecclestone to meet with New York mayor

Bernie Ecclestone will be meeting with New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg this weekend to discuss the possibility of a future race in the American state. The site currently under consideration is located on Staten Island, with the plans for a 5.8-km (3.6-mile) circuit in Liberty State Park released in May last year.

Ecclestone's decision to visit the site over the next few days means that he will miss the season-opening race in Melbourne. However, Australian Grand Prix Chairman Ron Walker is remaining upbeat about the future of the event, and is confident that the F1 supremo will remain supportive.

"It doesn't mean to say Bernie's lost interest (in our race)," Walker explained to local Australian reporters. "It's about business in New York. Mayor Bloomberg is pretty keen to get a race at Staten Island."

Whats the weather prediction for the race weekend?

Last year was fun with the rain and damp track.

Edit:
Cloudy, high teens to low 20s. Looks likes it'll stay dry.
