No. I'm convinced that Gamer Fuel has Parasites in it. First one tastes horrible. Any beyond that suddenly become good. And you suddenly have the idea that you need to kill the prime minister of Malaysia....

Well first question first, how the hell did i miss this thread?

Second, nice job on op and its great that you will keep it up to date. Oh, also did they explain the scope bit in the description of covenant weapons?

Would you, kindly?

Your answer lies within the monster that is the op.
And just to elaborate, I lifted that from this exchange in the Lars Bakken interview:

IGN AU: On to a more specific question. Armour permutations - how much have you revealed at this point? How many pieces are in the game?

Lars Bakken: I can't talk about how many total pieces we have. There are obviously a lot more than we've revealed. We revealed two of them at the last press event - the helmets and the shoulder pads and the chest permutations, but there's a lot more. And there's a bunch that we wouldn't even talk about even if we were talking about them, because there are some hidden ones that we want fans to find.

IGN AU: How do they actually find it? Is it linked to multiplayer or single player?

Lars Bakken: It's linked to the entire game, and the way it's unlocked is through milestones that you hit, with achievements. It's linked to a point total basically, in your achievements.

IGN AU: Through single player and multiplayer.

Lars Bakken: Yep, for both, it's combined.

Pretty cool! Because the armour is linked to achievements somewhat, you can actually wear your achievements.

That's a good reason to get the "Finish Halo 3 on Legendary" cod piece; when I get owned online at least people can at least tell that I'm not totally inept.

Shit, I forgot about the Halo 3 slurpee cups. Are they good like the Halo 2 ones were? (I still have a couple of those laying around) Also how many of them are there? I'm retarded and will have to get them all.

Yeah you might only get called a homo one or two times.

There's no rationale online, they'd probably ask "WTF IZ THAT, NEWB ARMR w/ XTRA SHEELDS?"

I liked the Halo 2 cups better. 32oz of awesome. I still have to get all three of these though.

:lol m0dus...did you post that in the 2500 junior member thread? That would be perfect there.

Whoa, already this thread doubled the official Heavenly Sword thread! If threads are any indication of consumer excitement...Halo 3 and Killzone 2 are gonna do very very well.

I'm not a consistent player, so I have my really good days and really bad days. It will be nice to show I'm decent when I'm doing really bad.

Even though half of the posts in this thread are about how many posts this thread will get, the other half are an indication of a tsunami that's about to pound the low lying coastal areas of the gaming world.

My problem is that I'm fantastic at single player games, but boy do I suck at multiplayer. :lol

Single player is Multiplayer now. And Multiplayer is Multiplayer.

I'll hold you, in case I just blew your mind.

Halo 3 shipping without single player confirmed. Full points knocked off of EGM review because of price point.

That's odd because I always though Campaign was a great way to get into Halo and learn the game before you head into multiplayer. Campaign on Legendary certainly does help in Halo:CE. Not so much in Halo 2 since it can be so cheap.

wtf isnt this thread over 1k yet? come on people, lets start an arguement about something...
Give it time, I'm sure the discussion will pick right up after some media is released (1up has more tomorrow).

I dunno, Halo 2 Legendary probably taught a lot of people how to use the Plasma Pistol combo...
since it was the only thing that fucking worked.

That and whoring any power weapons you could find. There were FRGs aplenty in the Arbiter's first level and Sniper Rifles were easy to come by in the Chief's first 4 levels.

The only time I needed the PP was in cargo bay #2 in the first level. I could make do with the other weapons in all of the other levels.

I was exaggerating, but yeah, the PP was one of 2 "easy" ways to do the cargo bay (the other involved a big crate, geometry clipping bugs, and a turret). I can't even imagine doing it solely with BR or the sissy Magnums laying in that previous hallway. I almost never play the Arbiter's levels anymore (but I do love the cutscenes), so I don't really have a whole lot of practice in them. I distinctly remember dual needling on Gravemind though.

Don't remind me of that level. Its quite possibly the worst idea in all of gaming to start you off with a useless Needler. I'm usually dying repeatedly in the initial starting room just because Grunts and Brutes come at you with PPs, Needlers and Carbines. I usually have to pull off some clever shit to reach a Carbine and then hide in the "bleachers" of the room and basically Carbine-snipe all the enemies.

You are WRONG!!!!

So last summer at Bible Camp I pretty much proved or whatever that since Halo was made by Bungie and Bungie was made by God, Halo is a gift from God, Randal!

i swear to christ the 25th can't come soon enough.

Anyone know whether the legendary comes with a standard case inside it? or a collector's tin?

Or what.

As stoopid as it may sound, knowing this will determine whether I get the legendary AND a standard, or just a legendary.

The OP has all the information you're looking for.

EDIT: nevermind, I thought it had that information. To my knowledge it comes with a standard case, not the collector's tin.

that's what I thought, but I wanted to be 100% sure before Sept 25.

I'll find out soon enough

I can't fucking wait for this game.

I was pretty much up in the air what version I was going to get - Collectors or Legendary, but the OP pretty much cemented that I'm gonna just go for Collectors, Legendary has nothing I want except the storyboard and I'm not going to buy that blindly.

I sure hope the actual collectors tin feels heartier than the tin in stores now (feels mega cheap peh.) and what is actually holding the discs.. I wish they would release more info on the extras we are paying for and whats actually in them (as in a vid or pictures of unpacking of the ACTUAL product.. but I know those will come soon).

I just don't want to open the CE and find a gears of war like piece of fucking paper with the game on it. I'd rather have a regular 360 case with the game inside, hell, with the standard game case inside, for convenience.

bleh, anyway, I'm very very excited. This game is going to be amazing. and as much as I say it probably can't/won't get GOTY.. all the new shit they are doing (meta game, 4p co op, forge, etc) makes me believe it has a STRONG chance.

It comes in a regular case, but the cover art is different from the standard edition:

Limited is only edition with metal case. All versions of game have different covers for their plastic case and manuals.

Regular - plastic case, game and manual.

Limited - metal box, with custom interior to store Halo 3 disc, 360 executable disc (with AV calibration tool, mini game and so on), and hard cover Bestiarum.

Legendary - Helmet plinth contains two plastic cases - one with game disc (Legendary cover art) and the other with 360 executable (see above) and bonus DVD stored inside. has its own cover art also.

All three mauals have different cover art.
