I think the best repesentation of the HALO universe imo is the HALO 2 Announcement Trailer. That thing still gives me shivers down my spine at how awesome it is. It was crafted so perfectly and was exactly the kind've tone I wanted out of a movie version of HALO.

After reading the synopsis and details of Alex Garland's HALO script, I was frothing at the mouth. That read like the perfect script for HALO. I'm betting the reason it got a re-write was to make it more commercially viable (eg: toning down the violence (read: awesomeness) and PG13ing it).

But seriously without giving the slightest shit about what scores it gets, I will be genuinely surprised if doesnt score as well as Bioshock. From what weve seen and everything included in the game like the forge and screens/movies Im expecting a 10.

Its going to be interesting anyway. I personally couldnt care less.

Also, you said iGN forums, not IGN forums. You're not fooling us with your shenanigans this time, Stinkles.

I expect Halo 3 scores to suffer from an undeserved Halo 2 backlash. Ultimately, it doesn't really matter. I'll love the game, or I won't, regardless of what the reviews say.

. someone was mentioning that the reviews will start to roll out on the 23th of Sept. and no review will come before that date.

Honestly I'd expect far more 360 backlash than Halo 2. By now people can appreciate that game for what it did right or wrong, but a 360 going is a pretty recent memory.

You guys should make some Banana bread like I did, it really helps you get your mind off the forthcoming release and rush of reviews.

if the game get something like 9.1 or 9.2 [anything than 9.5 ] then its chaos. and many people will get banned. and everyone will hate each other. its gona be so fun to watch :lol

Yes, I saw those threads reviewing Bioshock and Lair reviews. I like to think Halo fans are more civil.

Halo 3's review scores will cause havoc on NeoGaf not matter what they are. 10s will bring out the Halo haters and low 9s will bring out the Halo fanboys. It will be epic.
 
No matter what the review scores would be, Halo 3 will set a new bar by packing so many features in a game.

From now on, every major title worthy of being called AAA is expected to have 4 player online co-op, saved films, the ability to modify the maps, etc. The fact that in feature and gameplay department every game will be measured against the bar set by Halo, is good enough for me.

It will be interesting to see how the features factor into the different reviews. Compared to Bioshock, Halo 3 has an insane amount of features. However, will it score lower then Bioshock if just one of those features is lagging a little (campaign)?

I disagree with you pretty strongly there. Not all AAA titles are the same remember ;) I sure as hell wouldnt want 4 player co-op in Bioshock 2. But I get your point.... teh barz, they has been raized...

I wouldn't call "campaign" a feature by itself (in this context). Certain attributes of playing campaign like on-line coop, being cooperative and competitive at the same time, and in particular my favorite: The ability to approach every major battle in so many different ways, are what I call features.

I've been thinking about the practicalities involved in bringing my 360 (and monitor) with me to England, and even about the value in it, and I think I might end up leaving it home, and missing out on Halo until a few days in October, or maybe even having to wait until Christmas.

Weirdly, this feels like an 'adult' decision.
