I'm cheap and I'm still buying it. The ridiculous price points of these games have taken my impulse buying to unprecedented levels.

grab has a nice feature that ea doesnt. like when you want to write a number in but not for real you can put in a little number (both do this) but grab you can do the little number in three different colors. so what i do on the hard ones is the ones i dont know you can do the little number in one color and then pick a different color and try to work it out a little to see if im on the right track. you can only do the ea little numbers in one color so you cant do that.

also grab has another nice feature. say you have a box and its either a 1 or a 4 so with the little numbers you put that in and same with the box above it. then you find out that the bottom box is a 1 when you make that change the other box will get rid of the little one and leave the little 4. it makes you go through the puzzles faster.

i bought grab first and missed some of the things it did that ea doesnt plus its cheaper. also while you can grab puzzles for grab it has puzzles in it so you dont have to but its an option. also grab has a feature where you can email a friend with the time you finished a puzzle and they can try it (provided they have the game) its a neat feature that if i knew someone else into sudoku i would use :/

so they are both good but i lean towards sudoku grab

Its got 1000's of unique symmetrical puzzles in various sizes and difficulties, and also features tonnes of Picross (we call it Tenpenki) and Kakuro puzzles too.

I'm in the same place. Used to check the Appstore and TA like an addict for my next hit, but I'm feeling pretty jaded by the platform now. I was finding I was buying games and just hardly playing them.
Having said that, I'm pretty keen to grab classic Doom which should be hitting the store pretty soon.

Wow really? that's a shame it seemed to be a really polished game.
 
I've been playing Hook Champ a whole bunch. Fun little dynamic. I found it a tad boring at first, but once you level up your hook and rope, the swinging gets a whole lot more fun.

Good recommendation, Rolento.

yourreferring to Galactic Keep by Gilded Skull Games. The dev told me it'd scheduled for 2010 so it's a ways off yet unfortunetely. I'm keeping up with him for info as soon as he is ready to release it
 
Guys is Dungeon Hunter worth 6.99! I was thinking about getting it, because I was going the get Torchlight, but my computer sucks... I know I need a new PC, but I can't this year, but is is really worth 6.99! Also does the control scheme get in the way!
 
I don't know if it's been mentioned, but Defender Chronicles is easily my favorite tower defense game on the iPhone. It's $2.99 and has gotten some really extensive updates recently.

I always see fieldrunners cited but Defender Chronicles easily puts it to shame.

Very much so. Both control schemes work fine, I prefer the touch to move scheme just because it only requites one hand. The game is a great little hack and slash.

Dunno about $6.99 but it's my fave iPhone game and it was the reason I was so excited about Torchlight, but it might suck a bit playing Torchlight first and then playing DH because Torchlight is obviously so much better.
 
Goddamn Eliss. I worked my fingers to the bone finishing level 14 and almost threw the phone out the window during level 15. FUCK THIS GAME

Skullpogo; is it possible to get further than Level 5 in classic mode?

I'm currently ranked no. 11 worldwide with 74k...but I never got past level 5.

I second this. Defender Chronicles is my favorite TD game on the iPhone by far.
 
Defender Chronicles is great, but hard as shit!

I just bought Mr. Bounce yesterday ($0.99), it's a bit like breakout with some peggle thrown in. The soundtrack alone is worth the $1.

My only complaint is that there is a pretty severe lack of balancing between the elf and the warrior. She's much more useful than he is as a hero, but it's really not a big deal.

The latest update removes several of the items from the in-game store that you would normally be able to buy with your in-game gold and makes them only available to you for the level if you pay in real cash.

Not only that, but the update erases ALL progress you've made in the game.

They basically completely ruined the game.

That's an automatic 2 star review from me. Scrabble used to be the worst offender, with this ear-shattering intro music thing when you started it up that couldn't be disabled or muted. So annoying.

EDGE developer Mobigame is finally returning to the App Store with a follow-up title. Their launch title EDGE was critically acclaimed, though, had some nagging legal battles that resulted in its removal from the App Store for many months. EDGE finally did return to the App Store in October, and the developer has been working on their next game.

Mobigame's David Papazian explained to us that after taking 2 years to create EDGE, they wanted to "take a breath" with a smaller game. The game was inspired by some old wooden puzzle toys but this one is said to be impossible to have built in real life. The game is a fully multi-touch game, and Papazian reports that "sometimes you will need all your fingers to solve the 120 puzzles we created."

This could be really cool! Stick with the video... It starts off slow, but then by the end shows the depths of this game mechanic. Plus it's from the guys who made edge, so they already have my moneyz for this!
 
So outside of a dungeon hunter discount I can't think of any games I'm looking forward to on the iphone currently, though I expect something to pop up eventually...

I hope ravensword is as good as it looks since a portable Oblivion type game would rock.

I'll pick up Edge, but as always I wait for discount on anything above $3 >_<

Yeah Scrabble was total bullshit. Girlfriend and I play hotseat at restaurants when we're waiting for food, and it's really awkward to fire it up and have the sound draw stares :/

It's a rhythm game, and looks like a very simple one, in the first couple of songs you just press on one spot when the pattern appears through a pipe. But when you complete a song you open a new stage and then there's suddenly two pipes and it becomes much harder to keep up with. Eyes darting cross the screen.

I'd fear for my sanity if there's three pipes on later stages.

And the visuals are something else, like a strange dream made of sugar and pixels.

Pretty much, earned a 1-star badge from me on the French store. Phone is on mute every time I step out of my house (I hate phone rings, loud music or other electronic sounds from others in the subway, there's no way I'm going to subject others to that), not respecting the mute status is not acceptable for a game, especially since Apple made that the default behavior (or something) with OS 3.0.

Bought this a few days back, but haven't jumped into it yet. Still playing through Hook Champ

The intro cinematic was impressive though!

Can't wait to jump in. I love old adventure games, and this is one that slipped under my radar way back when.
