I totally agree.bjork said:We need a huge "best of" post with the top games for each genre, it seems like a lot of questions are recurring in here like "what's the best racing game" etc. I don't know enough of the games to do it myself, but I'm sure someone here does.

Can anyone recommend some spouse-friendly local multiplayer games? We currently have Trivial Pursuit, Flight Control & Rock Band.
Cheers!
I'm really temped, but how are the controls? All the vids out there on it are kind of old, and I can't really get a feel for the game from them. Or I should say how Ultima Underworld is it since that's what I'm hoping for.Peronthious said:I went ahead and bought Necromancer Rising and have put a couple hours into it. The game is, without a doubt, awesome. The issues mentioned in the iTunes reviews are certainly there - rare loot drops, not a lot of gold drops, damn hard - but if you're into old school dungeon crawlers ala ultima underworld it's $5 well spent.
The game is currently on sale for $5 from $7.

Enjoyed this on PSP and iPhone ScummVM already, but nice to see an upgraded native version out for me to finally finish this.Sloane said:As already posted in the Official Thread, Broken Sword: The Director's Cut is now available in the US. Some gameplay footage.
Edit: Seems to be out in the UK, too. £3.99.
Any big differences between this and Flick Rugby (which I've bought).Mario said:Our iPhone label, PikPok, just released another title in the Flick Kick series - Flick Kick Field Goal. This is personally my favourite of the 3 Flick Kick games so far (not sure why given they are all fairly similar).
Jos is currently pretty busy on a business course this week, but will likely drop a download code or two for it on GAF and/or the PikPokGames Twitter feed over the next couple of weeks. Chances are we will do a price special leading up to the SuperBowl, so keep an eye out for that if you have a 99c or bust policy (it is currently $1.99).
I'm guessing sarcasm?toythatkills said:Doodle Jump is shocking?

This game is the reason that, when I see this thread has been posted in, I get excited. I will buy this game again quicker than you can say 'It's up'.

Mario said:Thanks for picking up Flick Kick Rugby.
The differences between that and Flick Kick Field Goal are mainly cosmetic (graphics, menus, music, loading screen quotes) with some minor adjustments to wind effects, as opposed to Flick Kick Aussie Rules which has both different kicking and scoring mechanics. Unless you have a specific hankering for American Football, you are probably fine with just Rugby.
Played a few missions, that game's a solid strategy game á la oldschool CnC. I enjoyed it.Diablohead said:Warfare Incorporated is at 59p right now, I forgot all about this game but it's a RTS which looks kind of like C&C

Trundle (free, seems alright)

Air Hockey (free today)

GuerillaBob ($3)
Guerrilla Bob may be what Minigore was supposed to be all along. Trundle reminds me of some XNA game that some people liked. Air Hockey probably sucks, has Open Feint and is free for today only. Check em.
Mario said:Quick update on Bird Strike
- just went on sale for 99c (normally $1.99) until the end of this week
- dev team is close to finishing the requested Endless Mode, as well as adding some new props and pickups. We should be submitting that next Tuesday, so if Apple keeps up their quick turnarounds on approvals that build should be live before the end of next week
toythatkills said:Does it offer much more than Doodle Jump? I'm not sure I really need more than one game in that genre so convince me!

Product info is available here http://www.pikpokgames.com/birdstrike/
If you already have Doodle Jump, I'd suggest waiting until next week when the Endless Mode is in and hopefully somebody can offer some impressions and a comparison (though the price special will be over by then).

Apart from a few rare threads asking about upcoming Android games, not yet.magicaltrevor said:So I've got an Android phone (HTC Hero) instead of an iPhone and I quite like it. Lots of great free games and Apps in the Store and new stuff on a daily basis.
Is there an Android Gaming thread on GAF?
Okay, boughtwhatevermort said:I think that it already offers a great deal more, actually. The challenges that exist at the moment feel more like puzzles, sometimes, and there's a real reliance on memory as well to get the highest scores. Doodle Jump is far more mindless than Bird Strike, and, whilst it's an easy comparison for people to make between the two - they both exist as part of the 'Vertical Progression' Genre, it's actually pretty sloppy. Doodle Jump is pretty good fun; Bird Strike is a much, much better game.
