I respect Geodefense but its too hard for me. I'm a low level player when it comes to TD games.
You know the game has a difficulty setting right? I was thought it was too hard too until I realized the default setting was 'hardcore'. :p

Received some info on Marble Blast Mobile. It's a game in development by Garage games. It's sort of a spiritual successor to Marble Blast Ultra, which I enjoyed, on the XBLA. Figured I'd pass the info along. Here are some screens too.
Oh hell yes. Ultra is one of my favorite XBLA games.

but for some stupid reason the alternative setting doesn't have a high score board, or stat collection, which makes improving strategies a bit difficult to track

I keep getting owned by large jets in flight control because helos are in my flight lines. suggestions?

Micromanage more. Whenever a helicopter appears, just send it to the helipad, they're too slow to move around anything anyway. If it looks like a yellow/red plane is going to run into one, just move it out of the way.

Also, you're drawing way too long of lines into your runways. Planes don't need an approach, they can take a 180 degree turn and just land immediately. From what i can tell, the straighter the approach line into a runway, the longer they stay there, so try and make the approach path as narrow as possible.

Flight Control = awesome! Gets insane at 50+ landings though... what are some of you guys highscores? Needs an online leaderboard for sure! :D

57 is my record so far.

my high score is 62, with the most planes on at once being 12.

btw I can't wait for marble blast on ipod touch, more ball games please :lol

Any Drop 7 impressions?

I was skeptical even after reading all the rave reviews because I'm not a huge fan of Sudoku. But I took the plunge and I'm completely addicted to this game.

Can't stand Baseball Superstars. I had far more fun with Bases Loaded on the original GameBoy. Drop7 is awesome.

Did you buy Baseball Superstars or play the lite version? I only ask because I was a little sour on the game after playing the lite version, but my brother bought the full version and it's much better. I believe the lite version is set to "easy" which makes the game too easy by showing you where the pitches will be and handling fielding automatically. When you set the game to normal it's much better. Plus, the full game is loaded with content. I just know that I wasn't feeling it initially but it has grown on me.

Also, tons of new "lite" versions for popular games have been released recently:

- Zen Bound
- Rasta Monkey
- Lights Out
- Galaga

On a side note I've really been taken with the idea that the app store should move away from total sales of a given title to total revenue of a given game sort of like movie income revenue like that payback dev suggested. The way the top 100 or top 25 lists work honestly is as a form of advertising. And if apple wants to encourage better titles ranking them based on revenue probably does a better job than that. Right now its almost impossible for any app that isn't 99 cents to get to the top of the sales list if a game that costs 6 or 7 times as much. The cheap 99 cent games would still be around. They would just be on a more level playing field for sales recognition.

Sudoku? I love Sudoku but don't see the link. Maybe this is why I hover around the 100,000 mark each time I play and am missing a whole new way of getting big scores?

Bought a $20 iTunes card and the first games I bought were Flight Control and GeoDefense (second level of medium is impossible).

Isn't there a Lite version of Drop7? I don't really understand it so it'd be nice to try it out instead of taking a risk and dropping $4.

How is Bejeweled 2? I love Bejeweled games but is the transition to the Touch for the better? Is there any other game which is similar to Bejeweled but better?

Bejeweled 2 is great and plays great in the iPod Touch. If you want a game better than bejeweled, download the lite version of ChocChocPop for FREE and give it a try.

I actually don't like the Baseball Superstars graphical update. The screenshot posted on the last page shows the main problem; when I'm batting I want to focus on the pitcher, plate and batter's box, not the entire field. They upped the resolution but zoomed the screen out way too far. Lame.

Bejeweled 2 has been my most-played game on my iPhone, with iShoot close behind.

Bejeweled absolutely destroys most App Store games from a presentation and polish perspective, too. Very slick and fun to play. The option to listen to your own music while playing is nice, too.

Nice, I got 60 last night. I can't decide if it's better to put slower planes in holding patterns or to land everything as soon as possible. I have a friend who claims to have gotten 150+ landings but he works for boeing. :lol

My most aircraft on screen was 16 so maybe I need to land them faster.

Azkend is a good Match 3 style game (but instead of switching icons to create matches, you draw a line over them, the same way Bomboozle does it), released a couple of days ago, the current price is $2,99:

Quite good art, there's different "medallions" that you gather on your journey (yeah, it has a "story").

Oh, and EVERYONE needs to buy TNA Wrestling. It's seriously great.

Really really enjoying Glyder, one of the best iPhone games I've purchased at this point. Huge world, great achievement system and controls.
I agree. It's addicting. Buying Drop 7 and TNA Wrestling for the bus ride before my baseball game today.

195. I haven't gotten anywhere close to that lately (I think since then I got 182, but I average around ~150).

If you can deal with the difficulty spikes around 50 and ~85 stuff starts spawning way less sporadically and it gets a lot easier to manage.

I'm not sure what the fuss is over essentially an fmv game.
I think it's the genre they chose, mixed with the fact that you're playing it alone on a screen probably close enough to your face.

Playing with headphones in a dark room with the screen close to me made the frights more intense I think. There's less 'jump out and say boo' and more 'I turn around to notice the dinosaur, and try to run but my legs are jelly'ish kinda deal. The woods setting in day light mixed with the audio work done with the hooded figure really work together to make something awesome.

But then again I liked Cloverfield, so that could void my opinion or something.

The video is low res in places though, which I found kind of strange.

I had a good time with it though. A bit short, but totally worth the money in my opinion. I just hope that they (unlike many other 'episodic iPhone series') can get episode 2 out in a good amount of time...

crystal defenders updated today. it now has full touch screen controls (with the option for screen turning) and revamped menus. it's now an iphone game and not an ipod ported to it.

game's still shitty though.

Anyone like Reiner Knizia board and card games? Poison just came out, looks pretty good (though single-player against the computer only):

Apparently he put out a request a while back for people to port his games to iPhone, so this is probably the first of many.

Yeah I only tried the lite version. I appreciate hearing about the wealth of content in the full version, but the basic mechanics didn't click with me, nor did the seemingly absent amount of frames displayed. Baseball Stars Color on the NGPC was the last portable baseball game I enjoyed.

Holy shit. I bought Drop7, TNA Wrestling, Tap Tap Coldplay, and Hysteria Project for the bus ride and the one one I ended up playing was Drop7 - a solid hour there and a solid hour back.

It is sooooooooooooooooo good. :O :O

Buy Drop7 NOW!
