I just picked this up but I'm finding it a bit choppy and disappointing. I wish iphone games had better frame rates.Flib said:Really really enjoying Glyder, one of the best iPhone games I've purchased at this point. Huge world, great achievement system and controls.

Apparently he put out a request a while back for people to port his games to iPhone, so this is probably the first of many.

I keep forgetting this thread exists.

sorry, already gone... that was fast...
Comiczeal is probably superior, they create their on proprietary space-saving/battery-saving file format before you transfer to your iPhone/Touch.Charred Greyface said:

I bought a bunch of the games on sale on touch arcades site. A lot of them I'm enjoying so far.

If you get a bunch clumped together, the best strategy is to try and eliminate the gray blocks underneath them. Depending on which blocks are eliminated, that might leave your "1" blocks standing all by themselves on more than one occasion, taking them off the grid. There's usually no way to eliminate them from dropping blocks on top.dLMN8R said:So I bought Drop7 after reading the awesome impressions here, pretty cool little game. I'm still trying to grasp the overall strategy though - mainly dealing with the '1' blocks. Every time my game ends it's because of these fricken 1's I can't get rid of.
Any tips or tricks someone wants to offer to best deal with those jackasses?

No idea how I got that, must've been luck of the draw. Ever since getting that top score I can't get above 70-ish anymore.bathala said:jesus
My problem is that I constantly get into situations like this:Flunkie said:If you get a bunch clumped together, the best strategy is to try and eliminate the gray blocks underneath them. Just avoid that, it's pretty easy to get rid of 1s and 2s, but if you keep stacking them, yes, you're pretty much screwed, but it's not due to bad designdLMN8R said:Once you get to one layer deep of low-numbers like that, you're screwed,

It's a match 3 puzzle game from an established mobile developer.
$1.99 and you get a free PC or Mac version of the game too.
Oh, what's the best way to get iTunes links for stuff? I usually e-mail them to myself...
A regular MB is more than enough even for 3d Apps, don't worryKodiak said:Question for anyone that has used the SDK or developed an application of similar fidelity to the games on iphone:
I'm looking into jumping into iphone app development (as more of a hobby than anything) and am going to need a mac of some sort to do this with. Would a basic macbook (the new one) be substantial enough for coding and testing games or would I need something more pricy like a MB Pro to get the power needed? I don't plan on making anything with a 3-D engine any time soon.
Any info on this subject would be most appreciated.

Stoney Mason said:I won't comment since I don't own it but the early impressions seem relatively decent to good on it. I'm a big sports fan so eventually I'll get around to picking it up and I'll give impressions.
alanias said:Yeah, maybe the video capture was bad but it seemed choppy somehow. Nice to have some competition for baseball superstars and this one seems to be much more RBI Baseball-esque. I will give it a shot if there is a lite version, but I don't want to double dip on baseball games just yet.
