The iPod Touch 2G seems to have more power than the iPhone 3G/iPhone/iPod Touch 1G.Draft said:For the purposes of gaming, the iPod touch is identical to the iPhone?

Surfheart said:While the PSP's screen is a lower res, it sure seems to be able to push alot nicer looking visuals than the iphone. At least the stuff I've seen on iPhone so far. There is nothing that comes close to Ridge Racers for example.
Dragnet said:Exactly. Show me one 3D game that looks even close to a PSP game. People saying iPhone has equal/more power than PSP is utter bullshit. iPhone will never be able to push a 3D GTA like PSP could.
Fuck the premium games store.

also, I just got crayon physics and it is, indeed, awesome. I love the physics based puzzlers on this thing (Enigmo, fantastic contraption)
Brought it a few days back, fun game but the level's drag on a fair bit. I have to pause to rest my thumb or hand depending on what controls I use.Costanza said:OMG

Unless once the Premium games start hitting and they perform exceptionally well on the 2G Touch compared to the iPhone, the difference hasn't really been that noteworthy given the state of the current quality of the games on the App Store. Not A Fur said:Part of this is that it doesn't have to devote any memory or processor timeslice to handshaking with cell towers etc. but yeah, it is. Damn it. I am kind of thinking about getting an iTouch on top of my iPhoneI never wanted to become one of those people...

Isn't this a case where once you've seen one you've seen 'em all?
Don't get me wrong, I love TD. Haven't bought any of these yet -- but I'm interested, is why I'm asking.![]()

Can't wait for the update. Such a pure game.

First PSP devkits appeared about 6-7months prior to launch. First 'sort-of-complete' SDK was released less then 1month before launch. The fact iPhone is 4 years younger then PSP makes the latter much more impressive IMO.dLMN8R said:Developers were probably working with the PSP for at least a year or two before the system was even released.
Dreamwriter said:Utter BS, eh? So, you are a 3D game programmer and know the exact specifics of both game systems? Demanding someone show you a 3D game is worthless, because let's see a PSP game that cost under $10 when first released, that looks as much better than the iPhone as you are talking about. That's the whole problem with the iPhone, sure it has power to spare, but for under $10, no company can afford to make a game at full PSP quality.
So anyways, here's what looks to be the best 3D on the system so far: rumored to be a game in the rumored premium app store, Need for Speed Undercover (HD YouTube video of a game system) Oh, and this footage is a month old, so it's possible by the time the game comes out it could look even better.

Ahhh, awesome. I remember playing that game a few years ago on mobile. I think it even came pre-installed with a couple of Sony Ericsson handsets, as well, when they were pushing their 3D gaming capabilities.yurinka said:Hi guys!
