I'm sorry, I never played Boom Blox so I don't know if they work in the same way. I'm just a programmer, so I don't know if they had this game as reference (I never saw it mentioned anywhere).

In Jungle Bloxx you should break the rocks strategicly to place the round gem in the altar. If it falls in the altar you win. If it falls in the floor you loose.

In every level you can be awarded with gold, silver or bronze medal depending the number of pieces you destroyed to clear the level (less rocks = better performance).

There are severall special types of rocks. They react in different way when you explode them: fire rock burns the colliding ones, the ice rock breaks when collides with another moving rock, the thunder rocks are linked in groups so when you break one you break all the rocks of the group, etc.

There are items, too. To stop the time, to make the gem bigger, etc.

And there are match 3 minigames.

That sounds exactly like Boom Blox. Sold.

Is the only way to play Scrabble online through Facebook? That's one of the main reasons I want the game, but I know none of my idiot friends play Scrabble

As I recall, the play options for EA's Scrabble app are "Local", "Connect via Facebook", or "Multiplayer WiFi" (haven't used this option, but I believe it's just ad-hoc, iPhone to iPhone). So, I believe the answer to your question is "yes".

You're right - I just checked on my phone.

However, Foob, you can play random facebookers. They don't have to be your "facebook friends."

Oh, really? That's pretty great, then. Guess I'll go for it.

Narrowed it down to Scrabble and Star Defense, and then I realized I only wanted Star Defense for Plus+

So I saw a few people mention crazy penguin catapult 2 a couple pages ago. Is it worth it if you've already bought the first one?

Errr.... yeah, maybe I should have come here before getting Mass Effect... ah well, at least having fun with Rolando... looking forward to reading through the thread and trying out some of these recommendations.

OMG, Plushed looks really really awesome.

BlackSmithGames recently announced their first iPhone and iPod Touch game called Plushed. They describe it as a platformer with unique gameplay.

What happens when the fairytale world of a cute little girl turns into a cursed kingdom where she is queen? Her favorite plushie sets out to save her, of course. Guiding her loyal plush through several haunted meadows and creepy castles, you must use your wits to bring down the Evil voodoo mouse and his army of wacky minions! It' simple; get to the castle, save the princess. You've seen it before, but not like this. PLUSHED! The adventures of the reluctant bunny knight

The game is said to include over 20 different characters and 9 large levels and 3 world bosses. Plushed is also said to have been designed specifically for the iPhone and iPod Touch and uses the touch controls and accelerometer for gameplay.

Control different items with your finger or by shaking your iPhone to attract enemies, defeat level bosses, to solve tasks and to do many other exciting things.

While it's hard to tell much of the gameplay itself based on screenshots alone, the artwork alone looks great and we have high hopes for the game itself.

Also, you can follow the devs on twitter to help drive down the launch price.

HOW THE FUCK :O

edit: nvm it doesn't look all that great in motion

:lol

I think it looks good in motion it's just not a flowy action game, but a slower shooter. The graphics are still nice, especially when the camera zooms in (0:41 seconds) vs being pulled back.

I appreciate a game that puts effort into graphics. Really interested in this.

Also, Plush looks effing amazing. Wherever the price falls, day 1. (Unless it sucks like Mass Effect. I HATE that I bought that game. Attempt to play and hit a action button and the game completely pauses for 3 seconds. Fuck Mass Effect!!!!!)

Damn. I bought Mass Effect but haven't gotten around to it yet. And all this negative feedback doesn't make me want to dive back in.

Does anyone know what you get when you beat the game? In the options it says there's something for Mass Effect 2 when you beat the game.

I would've paid $7 for Plushed based on the artwork alone. It has a Soul Bubbles vibe to the graphical "feel."

Harbor Master, The Creeps, and LatKin have been keeping me occupied. All very good games (as everyone already knows with The Creeps).

Still waiting for MiniGore. But given the dev doesn't expect to submit until the 25th and the current constipation of Apple's acceptance process (I've read it's currently up to three weeks to get sign-off on just updates), this could be awhile.

Plushed looks awesome, definitely interested in it.

They've got a pretty neat marketing idea with the Twitter followers = price drop thing too. Smart way to build hype and word of mouth for their game.

Anyone see this:

Kolonists

http://www.getifun.com/kolonists/index01.html

It's a Catan ripoff without the dice. Sounds interesting for two bucks.

Gotta give this one a so so review so far. It's a decent game, but it's hindered by one big omgwtf problem: no save or autosave option. If you exit the game for whatever reason (including crashzors, which I've had three times so far), you'll have to start over. Hopefully they'll patch it up.

If they can fix the issues and toss in multiplayer it'll be a must-have.

Just been playing Lilt Line and I love it! Such a simple idea that plays like a dream on the iPhone. I can imagine some of the later levels being crazy. I love the stylish presentation and the music is bad ass.

I really like this game as well... You're not going to find many rhythm games with a dubstep soundtrack. The only real negative I can say about the game is that it is very short. You will fly through it! I just hope it is supported with extra content. Checking the developer's website... There doesn't seem to be any signs of that any time soon.

Must.Eat.Birds released, $0,99 for a limited time.

I'm having fun with it, you shoot "Nomsters" at birds (with parachutes) with a slingshot (touch controls, so you drag your Nomster, aim and release), so that you can eat them before they eat your cake. Might become a bit repetitive, but for $0,99 it's worth trying out if you like the look:

Omg. I need self discipline. I keep buying games. And I don't need more games, I have plenty of these pick up and play games.

But I am buying this the second I finish typing this. I love the style.

Thanks for the heads up.

edit: Quick impressions. Fun and stylish slingshot game. It's very charming. I found it cool that you can eat yourself to grow bigger as well as sling in a wide variety of angles, I was surprised that I was able to sling sideways to get a bird I missed. Charming fun for 99cents. I like the music.

Based on the above post, its price (59p come on! a can of coke costs more!) and the game style I just bought Must.Eat.Birds.

It's really fun and I can see it becoming very addictive due to its simplicity and ultra cuteness. It plays really well and is incredibly smooth to boot. iPhone really is a fantastic platform for games like this which are instantly playable and just as engaging as any console title (I know that sounds crazy but back to basics gaming is fucking cool). They are videogames, yay!

Last update on Kolonists, they do indeed plan to address the issues I mentioned. From their site:

Q: Do you have any updates coming?
A: We are releasing a minor update very soon adding auto save game feature and game statistics. Also we are planning on-line multiplayer and more single player features, so stay tuned for updates.
I'll post with info and screenshots when it happens. Should be a good buy then.

The App Store can be a drug. :(

And the 'oh it's only 99c' mentality doesn't help. Next thing you know, it's 50 x 0.99... lol.

I just went and bought Scrabble, just because.

Anyway, why does my Scrabble:

Look so much better than your Scrabble?:

Is this how the board game looks in the US?

I understand the Euro version has different languages to play in, but lacks FaceBook, and it seems the dictionary option. I can just keep submitting bogus words it seems, until I get one. I guess that's for the better, for the fun of it. In multiplayer can you challenge words, or does it simply not let you place wrong words?

I think im almost done with ME. (On the third planet)

it sucks up battery alot. Real quick compared to stuff like Rolando/Hero of Sparta
