Blacksmith in towns or certain hammer items you can buy from that cat girl. Look for a house with a hammer logo on it for the blacksmith.

In Classic mode I had 90 homers when my sister called and killed my game. After that I turned on airplane mode and got 70-80 and haven't really tried for any higher. In Arcade mode I'm somewhere in the 30s or 40s.

Extra nugget of information gleaned from the video by offworld

Confirmed hotness.

This new feature just makes me want AudioSurf for the iPhone! We know it's coming... Just don't know when...
How is "though there's no word yet whether these are dynamically generated or just made available specifically for your music" confirmed? According to one of my dev friends the iPod stuff for 3.0 was just to control the iPod playback, not actually access the audio stream. Hopefully there's some trick around it that they'll let through but I wouldn't keep my hopes up for that happening here.

I'd be curious to hear what your impressions were on Battle Shock Fusebox.

Fastjack

Well after realising I read the description wrong and it was my job to defend the castle and not to be the dudes attacking I gave it a good shot and decided it isn't quite my kind of game. It's a good game, no doubt, slick graphics and audio but I've realised that this and Knights Onrush aren't a style of game I can get into for long periods of time on the iPhone, however I do recommend it to anyone into those castle-defence style games.

The article states that there is itunes music integration "and a new mode which lets you use your iTunes library as the backdrop for special original stages". This they have confirmed.
What they haven't confirmed is how this is to be executed in the game. I merely felt what had been confirmed was hot... Therefore... Confirmed hotness!

According to Chillingo, both Minigore and Touch KO have been submitted and will be hitting The App Store soon.

Looking forward to Minigore. Haven't been following Touch KO. Should I be?

I have no idea if this is any good...

The ngmoshow episode 01: The Great Escape
Itunes link

Rolando 2 related I presume. Downloading now.

This was so horrible that it was slightly entertaining. There were two "lol" moments...but yeah, kinda embarrassing.

Just watched it... This was so bad. Unbelievably bad. What were they thinking!? :lol

Ah just misunderstood. And yeah that is awesome.

Was WordFu ever updated with Plus+ support? I thought that happened a while back, but I don't see anything in-game or on ngmoco's web site.

Can anyone give me a list of their games that support it, or link me to a site that explains?

Has probably been updated to that like other games have. Some take advantage of 3.0 improvements now so the new versions require it.

That's true, but then I remember that there is a new API for firmware version checking. It would have been perfectly fine (with a little more effort) to have specific features for 3.0 and still be compatible with previous firmware. Alienating your loyal customers isn't a good idea. Not everyone has an iPhone, and not everyone with an iTouch is willing to shell out for the firmware update.

I keep wanting to buy bookworm but then I start reading the user reviews and it's nothing but people bitching about how limited the dictionary is. I suppose I could always pick up Scrabble instead but I'd much rather have Bookworm on my phone. Has anyone here bought Bookworm and if so are you running into any dictionary issues?

It was actually 40. Look at my average and longest home run though. WTF? I remember when that happened too. The game actually glitched out on me soon after.

Isotope: a space shooter is on sale for $0.99 down from $2.99. Really nice dual stick style shooter with some rpg esque leveling for your ship. Also if any of you guys/gals are on Twitter I have very frequent iPhone game sale updates with a focus on $0.99 sales. Also some other iPhone gaming related news @ Twitter.com/bobnmullen

I had a similar glitch on my longest homerun - was nice to get all three of the distance achievements at once. :D

By the way, The Price Is Right is 99 cents this weekend.

How is the Price is Right? Seems like it could work pretty well on the platform.

I'm tempted to grab Real Racing, I wonder how well my 3G will handle the 6 car wifi mode?

Been playing more Zenonia. Jesus you have to do ALOT of grinding. They stick you in this Cave at lvl 8 and expect you to beat it, i had to leave and grind all the way to level 14 and im still to low for it.

Anyways. We need More RPGs on the App store. Also something like Animal Crossing/Harvest Moon

Just like to say thanks to everyone who participates in this thread. Been lurking for awhile now and this thread has helped me find plenty of games.

I'm so damn addicted to drop 7 because of you guys recommending it.

99c is the right price for The Price is Right.

Holy crap at the ugly-ass tiling of the wall on the left. You'd think Capcom would do something better than that..
I believe the iphone can do much better with some effort but this is a port from japanese mobile phones, so when you think of it this game is rather impressive for a regular mobile phone.

like RE: D its a beefed up port. in some regards it already looks better than their previous effort - character models have more detail ( i hope they've fixed leon's face), bigger environments and more animations. i think in terms of the environment i'd say RE: D looks better and this is mostly because it's really pretty easy to nail a airport with its clean smooth surfaces (although ive got to admit i think it looks pretty sweet in RE: D anyways), while in this everything is alot more complicated and they seem to be following the muddy artstyle that RE4 had, which doesn't really translate over to weaker device which isn't able to show detailed enviroments.

i do agree i'd like to see capcom make a re game designed purely for the iphones hardware.

so is RE4 the entire game? wow

i really doubt it. i bet it takes something from every locale and throws it together, or did they somewhere it's the full game and i'm just not seeing it? full port though would be wow indeed.

I highly doubt it's a full port. Most of these mobile versions are indeed remixed smaller versions of the full game.

Although the mobile edition of RE4 has been out for a few years now there is a complete lack of information so we don't really know. Wikipedia say that the game is divided into sections such as "Village", "Ravene", "Fortress" and "Subterranian Tunnel" but that's about it. I do hope that it lasts a few hours. My biggest complaint about RE: Degeneration is that it's pretty short. Maybe I'm have the wrong mentality considering these games only cost a few quid, but I'd prefer they'd last longer than 1 or 2 hours : (.

Defender Chronicles got a nice update and it's doing a 99 cent sale this weekend.

New in 1.2

• New map: Tarnwood.
• Ultimate artifact: Legendary Sword Thal Asel.
• A new enemy worthy of your newfound power.
• New potion system.
• New building: magic store (unlocked after Tarnwood).
• 3 new potions: Elixir of Forgetfulness (reset skill), Elixir of Humility (reset hero’s level), Healing Potion.
• Level 2 trade shop access with a bunch of new items.
• New secret at Great Library: 2 new in-game soundtracks
• Updated info in Bestiaries (both Orc & Human)
• Higher initial live and gold for Novice difficulty
• Removed item enhancements for Spirit & Cavalry (except Crown). We’ll restore these once the associated features are in.
• Item info will show which heroes are capable to equip it (a new hero will be added in 1.3). We are adding the info now so it can help you to figure out which items you want to keep.
• Added back Auto-flip
• Adjusted (again) EXP system: linear growth of EXP requirement to allow high level hero and you can get more EXP from longer map.
• Morale skill now gives extra token.
• Added EXP and level gained in Log Book.
• More detailed info for hero (touch the Hero portrait).

Anyone else get the feeling you can't trust the info on the App store? A few examples:

- Real Racing & Rolando 2 are currently listed as the #99 and #100 best selling games. I suspect they aren't actually in the top 100

- Warpack Grunts previously had hundreds of reviews and avg score of 2. Now all the sudden it has less than 20 reviews, avg score of 4.

The list updates constantly throughout the day. It is highly doubtful they are manipulating it in the way you are suggesting. Apple uses a rolling average on the sales. While I don't agree with the system they have mostly because it's not using revenue and instead using total unit sales there is nothing to suggest they are gaming the list.

And Warpack Grunts has 311 reviews. The latest update version has 17 reviews. They do this for every game when it receives an update. You're seeing shadows in the dark.

For Warpack, an update will reset the ratings but I think there is still an overall, or did you mean the overall rating?

Real Racing in the UK is doing very well, it's usually around #25 - #60 but rolando 2 is ATM not in our top 100, Rolando 1 is.

I understand though, sometimes it feels like apple play around a little bit.
