An update for one of my favourite games has made it a bit more responsive, I feel.

So just pimping this a bit more:

Appshopper Link:

US$6.99.

Strangely, don't know if it's on sale or what, but the NZStore version (and I assume EU) is only US$1.99. I'm tempted to buy it again :lol

If it's two bucks I'll be picking it up right quick.

And it's not :(. At least not at this moment. Maybe it's coming?

Anyway, if you guys like that flash game Auditorium, there's a game that a friend of a friend helped develop called Music Flux. From what I've played it's essentially a copy of the game, gameloft style. I wish Auditorium was on the iPhone but this will have to do for just $0.99.

The music's different, instead of the same style (classical music instruments), like individual groups of an orchestra warming up, that plays a symphony when put together; in this game it's like a choir and many acoustic instruments but not quite an orchestra. At least so far. The music is honestly not of the same quality.

iSR doesn't work on my Touch anymore :(. It hangs at the Powered by Unity screen then crashes.

Wha?! That's no good.

That's bizarre. Which touch do you have? Have you tried re-installing? Version 1.004 is getting submitted tomorrow. So if worse comes to worse it should only be about a week.
A lot of the insides have been re-written. The game is, currently, the most stable it has ever been. :lol

I have a 1G. I played it twice and it worked fine now for the last couple of days it's been doing this.

are the gameloft games generally good? Castle of magic and blades of fury sound fun, but the hero of sparta demo I played was meh

I think HoS is decent enough. Castle of Magic is pretty damn good the couple of levels I played, and I'm really, really enjoying Modern Combat. Will most likely pick up their Diablo game after I finish some of the others :P

Just got review code for Gamevil's new game Hybrid...looking forward to digging in tonight. It should be out quite soon from what I understand.

My unify story:
so when I said bought up above, I was mad rushing to install it because I was catching a bus home and thought, "this'll be great for the ride home!". I barely got it synced and packed my stuff up and had to run to the bustl stop a couple blocks away and JUST made it. I booted up unify and had it crash but started my next game ok. It's basically puyo puyo but playing two games at once. Love the music.

So I was playing and got entranced trying to remember my puyo puyo strategy and I missed my stop. I looked up after I died and j had no memory of where I was. The bus stopped at a stop and I was looking around for familiar landmarks. Nope, none. I pulled the chain to stop at the next stop and got off. Luckily the sun was setting and I knew which way was west. I made my way back down the bus route and soon discovered I was further past my original target destination than that was from my origin! It took nearly an hour to walk back home.

Damn you unify!

Unify crashes on ocassion. My free mem app says I have over 50mbs free when I launch so I can't quite figure out why it's crashing other than a memory leak? Got to about level 10 or 11 this time....level 7 last time. Luckily it lets you continue on without any trouble when you fire it up again. Pretty nice. And so far, it's worth the hype you guys have given it. This and Primose are two of my new favorite puzzle games.

hmm.. well that's probably a big part of it. That's the one device I haven't had access to. So I can't really check its memory limitations. The biggest culprit is our middleware solution, it's a memory hog. Version 1.004 of iSR was made with the newest version of Unity, and they've reduced the footprint, so it should be better from here on out.

On the topic of Unify..
Anyone else have a problem withe the Open Feint window on launch? When I would keep the device in landscape mode on launch the 'Go' button is off the screen.. lol.

I've enjoyed the little I've played of it tho. Great game. :D

Yeah, I started it twice before I noticed it swapped quickly from portrait to landscape (saw the go button fly by to where my screen woudln't show). So the third time I launched it I kept it portrait. Problem solved...but a bit an oversight?

That was a good enough testimonial where I'll part with a dollar to give the game a shot.

omg unify is out? Finally!

So bought.

edit: Something overtook me and I bought Squareball while I was at the App Store. I love digital delivery, but it really is too convinient. It's crazy that it's taking so long to take over, you would think sales would shoot up if all 360 or PS3 games were digital delivery as well.

Another example being my Kindle app. Oh man.

Zenonia's follow up, Hybrid, is out. It's $5.99 and more action than rpg with less talking and exploring and more fighting and fighting. I want it but this is ridiculous so it's going on the Pandora list. Just letting yall know.

Edit: so I've put some time in Squareball and Unify.

Squareball is pretty challenging from the start. It's not that the controls are bad but the gameplay is different so it takes a while to adjust. It's top notch though and I think it's worth the price.

Unify is so, so good. I got to level 18 before making a mess. There's not too much to say, it is a great take on Puyo Pop, the style is great, the music isn't bad but after Squareball most soundtracks would be a let down, and it controls really well with what's basically the good old Touch Anywhere. Definitely worth the asking price, just remember to start it in portrait or you'll be very confused.

Robocalypse! $4.99, real time strategy. Never even heard of it, though it is a DS port.

TELL ME IF IT IS GOOD.

Also, Monkey Island got an update that supposedly fixes a bunch of stuff:

What's new

Version 1.1

Improved graphic fidelity and art smoothness:
Background and character art is sharper and anti-aliased

3GS related bugs:
Fix 3Gs crash bugs
Fix graphical tearing on 3Gs
Fix graphical flickering on 3Gs

Audio bugs:
Fix missing voices with headphones plugged and sound muted
Fix irregular volume bug on speakers
Fix irregular volume bug with headphones
Adjust transition in opening credits so it is in sync with music

Tune existing controls:
Acceleration curve for trackpad cursor implementation
Fix inconsistent double tapping timing, allow for more time
Reduce accelerometer sensitivity for triggering pause menu
Default action verb fade out at same timing than default action
Slow down timing of default action icon fade in/out
Add tutorial text to explain trackpad control and cursor settings
Add pop up text to explain trackpad control and new scheme

Hellmaze Bug:
Fixed random background misalignments

You should now feel the urge to complete the Trials….again!!!

I didn't even play it all that much because I never got around to it.

jonnybryce - digital distribution won't become the order of the day across the board (PS3/360/etc) for some time. it's getting there, but for a number of reasons it is still not gonna be your main method of purchase for console gaming. Walmart and their ilk are not too happy about a future which doesn't involve them getting a piece of the very important videogame sales $$$, so they understandably apply pressure to sony and such when talk of "high-pedigree releases" releasing over the net gets experimented with.

case in point, they were very miffed when sony released warhawk up on PSN years ago, and sony conceded by offering a boxed version with a peripheral (think it was a headset or whatever) to placate them-

it will be interesting to see how things get further edged out with PSP GO and whatever plans Nintendo's rolling out with the DSiWare, granted the mobile market is always viewed as "junior" to the higher-priced console stuff, but it is a good ground for them to get a footing with.

Gah, Robocalypse reminds me of a PC RTS that I used to love, with a band of robots with different skills. If memory serves, it took place on a scrolling map with barriers all around - a bit like Pac-Man, but with destruction and robots. Anybody know what game I'm talking about?

Too bad Robocalype's an RTS, would have been instabuy otherwise :/

I want some turn-based strategy and role games :/

"Z"?

There are another two control schemes that involve you tapping the screen instead.

As I would imagine there are, however when you use this as the first image someone sees..

it's a little off-putting. :lol

Not gaming related but wtf.. there is a Chipolte Ordering App which allows you to order and pay then just pick up and skip the line.

AWESOME lol

That is sort of the iPhone game of the forever. And it's not even a game. Pretty impressive!

I snagged Unify last night and played a long time, got to level 29 on my first go round, no idea if that's good or bad, but the game is rather fun. Wish it didn't take so long in the normal mode to ramp up to where it's difficult, but other than that I really have no complaints. Pretty great puzzle game so far.
