A bunch of Gameloft titles are suppose to be free for 2 hours each day this week to celebrate their 10th anniversary, no idea what and when but I guess it's worth keeping an eye out for some freebies.

Gameloft have more then 10 games out on the app store so I wonder if the free titles will be the 10 worst ones :P

Ferrari GT: Evolution free at the moment:
http://itunes.apple.com/app/ferrari-gt-evolution/id299180582?mt=8

They are announcing their free games when available at http://twitter.com/gameloft

Already own it but a shame if people missed it, at the time it was great but it's still a fun racer today against the other, better titles out there.

Oh I fixed my online wifi issues of dropping out every 30 minutes so I took a dive into IMO again to test it, game is much better when you don't have to reconnect and hope you didn't die by mobs every 30 minutes :P

Slow ass grind is slow but I like it, will probably just play it for a bit each night so I can level up. They need to sell some exp boosters in the cash store long as it's not expensive. com2us also updated the framerate to 30fps instead of the very odd 15fps the game had form being a mobile game port, easier on the eyes now.

What server are you on and whats your name?

I was wondering if there was any talks of a new model iPod Touch soon, and I kinda want to get one since Cave is supporting it and will seem to do so in the future, but I don't want to buy one and have a better model released like two weeks later.
Even though I hate apple, but the same story went for my 360 so it's worth it.

New iPhone: June/July
New iPod Touch: September

Just like every year. Current iPod Touches are very adequate machines, though.

Thanks to wondermega, I got 180 the other day and I'm having a lot of fun with it.

It's kind of like Puzzle Bobble in that you shoot coloured circles at other ones to match them up but in this game each circle has two colours instead of one and you can tap a circle to flip it over to the other colour whenever you want. This definitely makes the game for me since you can either just match up colours as they come or, as I do, flip over all the colours you can then wait as long as possible so you can clear clear loads of colours in one go and get loads of points.
There are three modes but they are all basically the same thing (Endless mode, a timed mode where you have to get a many points as you can in 90 seconds and something called drop attack where you get points depending on how many lines you add I think. I don't really understand that one) but in games like this I only ever play endless anyway.
Unlike the other games I have like Plants vs Zombies, 180 is a great little time waster that I found myself playing for a minute or two whenever I was bored or waiting for something to download on my computer. I'd definitely take a look at it if you like other colour matching games like this.

Thanks for the info! Well I can wait 4 months, I just don't want the next Cave release to only work only on the latest iPod released and feel like I've wasted my money. (This looks like it happened for EspGaluda II.)

The server which starts with Wada, not sure of it's full name. Landos side and currently slowly grinding through lv 12 :lol

The RE5 clone is out now, zombie invasion, going to wait for feedback before I dip.

Zombie Infection is now out. It really is a RE5 rip-off, but its quite fun.

I recommend moving the shoot button the left of the screen, so you can move the camera and shoot at the same time. Very handy.

I don't know if its worth £4 yet, but I'll keep going.

Konami aiming at PSP quality for iPhone/iPod Touch version of Pro Evolution Soccer

http://www.games.konami-europe.com/blog.do

But where would we start? First, study the game on all platforms, then concentrate on portable devices and touch screen features, then start a tough pre-production phase. It was decided not to "port" the game from any existing version; we wanted the iPhone/iPod touch game to be its own special one.

The good news for us was that we could use previous PES games for reference. And we quickly agreed that we should target the quality of the PSP versions. Firstly because we thought graphics on the PSP looked fabulous, secondly because of the iPhone's processing speed and display capacities being potentially comparable to those of a "small" PSP.

Looks like the Paris studio is developing it.

I know gameloft have done well last year with these sort of games but this one now feels a bit poor, I hate how stiff the characters move, they should look into improving animation at this point.

Just got a new iPod Touch! Two questions:

  1. What would be the best "traditional" game to try out? I don't care for puzzle games, but would like something like a platformer, action/adventure, 3rd person shooter, etc. I have and love GTA: Chinatown Wars for the DS, but might get it for the Touch as I always carry it with me. Also I don't mind paying for a good game.

  2. What is a good sleeve-like case? I prefer to handle the device naked, so I want something I can quickly slide the Touch into and out of.

Good question..I'd like to know this too.

Dunno if you'd consider it "traditional", but I'd suggest Espgaluda II. It's a vertical shooter by CAVE and there's a trial version as well.

I have one of these, and I love it:
http://fruitshop.com.tw/en/Products/iPhone3GS_Leather.html
It's very thin, but protective, with responsive buttons. And the little piece of leather on the back makes it more sophisticated looking.

If you want to keep it naked, which I've gone back to doing, get a Wrapsol. Very good quality scratch protector for both the front and back, and gives the back a very awesome matte finish look.

I have this case http://www.amazon.com/Sena-Ultra-Pouch-touch-Black/dp/B00139E1QQ which I find is great for what you want.

Let me know when you play. I just created a character on that server.

Is IMO a full game or are you limited to "x" level like you were in that other MMO game? Can you "enjoy" it without buying anything from their store?

No idea wether this is good or not, giving it a try..

It's not bad. Ironically it plays a lot more like Klonoa than the actual Klonoa GBA games.

It's a full game, you can play up to level 50 (level cap) but if you don't buy the £1.79 starter kit DLC you won't get access to both auction house's which means you are limited to 1 on 1 trades if you want to buy stuff from others.

There is other store content like revive hearts and shit but they are not really needed, you get a bunch of them with the starter kit anyway.

Pocket Legends is the more dungeon based MMO which limits you to level 13 before buying new areas, both are great portable games but expect lots of grinding with IMO, it's a korean game to it's heart.

Move to the UK, I grabbed it on my lunch break ;)

Do any other publishers do this 'Happy Hour' thing? I've had an Itouch forever but I've only started using the app store heavily since I got an Iphone.

Edit: Also, it's weird that Tumiki Fighters and Noiz 2 Sa are 59p each and Rrootage is free. What I find weirder is that three separate companies have released them and they're not under the Kenta Cho / ABA Games banner. Still, grabbed all 3.

I also prefer using it naked. I use the Sena Ultraslim Case.

http://www.senacases.com/apple/ipod-touch-cases-2nd-gen/ultra-slim-pouch-sleeve/

I had one for a 1st gen touch and now a 3rd gen. I'm pretty happy with it. Keeps the thinness of the device. Just be careful with dirt. Also doubles as a "coaster" when I put the iPod on a table or whatever.

I leave it in the case, headphone jack exposed, and control the music via the Voice Control + headphone/mic combination so you don't have to use the screen.

Anyone playing 100 rogues? Any advice on that one? I seem to get killed or I die of hunger pretty fast. Will I be able to sell stuff or buy that meat for survival?

Who told you it was a game?

Anyway I find it to be a fun enough little time waster.

I read the descriptions of the episodes and gathered it was some kind of point and click adventure. Oh well. Only cost a buck.

Also, up to challenge 11 in squareball. This game is completely nuts :lol
