1 Question: HOW WILL THE LAKERS REACT TO THIS BRUTAL ASSWHOOPIN AT THE HANDS OF D-ETROIT!

LOL Sure didnt seem like that last loss affected the Pistons much.

In thw ords of Sheed, "They will not win game two"(Detroit)

Well, I actually didn't see the entire game; I had gone to see a flick with some friends (Day After Tomorrow-- eh :P), who then wanted to get a bite to eat before we disbanded. I grudgingly agreed, knowing the game was on, and not realizing how late it was. I finally get home around 11:15 and hurry to the TV to see if the game was still on. Lo and behold, there was 7:00 left in the game, and to my absolute amazement, Detroit was up by 17 at the time. The Lakers tried to extend their full-court pressure at the end to spark things, but it was ultimately futile, as Detroit kept making shot after shot. LA's pick-and-roll defense was absolutely ATROCIOUS-- of particular note was that high pick-and-roll between Hamilton and Ben Wallace late in the game, where both defenders trapped Hamilton way out at the three-point line, and Wallace rolled all the way to the basket for the dunk, with no defensive rotation from the weak side by LA. It was horrendous-- Wallace didn't even cut a straight path to the basket, he sort of just lolled around and eventually went to the rim; yet LA still didn't get there. I was shocked. That's all that really stood out to me from the little I saw, really-- oh yeah, the roleplayers were missing a TON of 3's (though they were contested for the most part) towards the end when LA was getting desperate to close the gap.

Oh yeah, one more thing:

Kobe Bryant:

45 minutes, 11 points on 4-13 shooting, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 TO's (almost as many turnovers as assists :P)

Better than Jordan, eh? Bwahahahaha.

KobeOWNED. :D

Poor Kobe-- this is only a taste of what he's gonna get when he gets off Shaq's tit. :D

like it was mentioned before me, this series could seriously be 3-0 there is no way that this laker team can beat the pistons the way they are playing now... The pistons have too much heart... that is something that no team in the western conference had, and that alone is enough to beat the Lakers

I'm not the biggest NBA fan, but I must admit, I'd like to see the Lakers lose, just so Screamin' A. Smith looks like a douche.

LOL @ "Screamin' A. Smith" :lol

Anyone else find it hysterical (and odd-- I've never seen it before with any other team) that like every LA player who has ever played for LA during their title run are in the stands right behind LA's bench every game? Ron Harper, Brian Shaw, Glen Rice, Horace Grant...it's like a big reunion lol. These has-beens need to get off the LA glory teet. :D It's just so...weird. These guys haven't played for LA in like 3+ years. :P

Horance Grant should be playing but is hurt, i havent seen Glenn Rice at all. Shaw & Harper are on the payroll.

Grant is on the team THIS year. He's on the IR though with a tear in his hip muscle. Harper and Shaw are both consultant/scouts. They WORK for the Lakers. Where the EFF do you want them to be?

Brian Shaw is a scout for the Lakers. Horace was an active player for the team this year, didn't make the playoff roster.

As a former Charlotte Hornets fan, Glen Rice can't add shit to their team right now. The poster above says that Harper is on the payroll.

I am getting UCONN flashbacks right now however.

Lakers fans, fuck off.

Enjoy it while ya can leker haterz! we are gonna turn it on NOW! BEST CUMBACK EVAAR!

I had to stop reviewing this thread for this quote. Delusional.

Great game by the D. Imagine if they pulled out game 2. I had a guy who hated Larry Brown so much that he was annoying all of us watch LA suck it down.

A fool named Chauncey is schooling them. I still want Rip to blow up but Chauncey is making a case for MVP. I know Rip got the better of this game but Chauncey was pick n rolling them to death. And imagine that this game could have been put away in the 2nd when LA was sucking it up but so was Detroit. Oh, and people shit on Larry Brown way too much for him to show up Jackson for the 2nd finals they have faced each other.

Well who the hell knew all that? I honestly had no idea about ANY of that, even Grant being an active player this year (hasn't he not played since 2001? Did he play in the 2002-03 season). So obviously it makes sense now, but not having known about these guys' roles withe the team, you can see why I thought it was very odd lol.

Grant was playing well this year but fell to a hip injury. Yeah most people have no idea Shaw & Harper are on the payroll. =-\

DAMN Q & W BEING SO CLOSE!

Many of the basketball fans here knew that, apparently. Time to take the Jordan lenses off, Loko.

Loki does not even watch current games. He just posts here to bash Kobe and defend MJ's legacy. I thought this was common knowledge lol

As a fellow Kobe hater, can Loki take a hint and get the fuck out of this topic? Please dude. MJ doesn't need YOU to defend his legacy.

don't worry loki. I'll send you a videotape. And then you can watch it in ten years and be like "OH yeah, Horace really WAS on the team afterall." and tell all the Lebron groupies how great Kobe was. ;)

let me just add that the Lakers are giving me an ulcer. I guess that just goes to show how big of a fan i am, but fuck if i don't get stomach aches when the team plays this shitty.

SnaQ's whinning is getting out of hand. He still complaining about touches when he was dropping passes left and right in the 2nd half. Not too mention having guys like Prince & Lindsey beating him out on rebounds all night long. SnaQ needs to shoulder most of the blame. Also, B. Russel is on the bench, i had no idea.

Shaq whines about needing vets in the game after Luke Walton (a fucking ROOKIE) saved our asses in game 2?

Screamin A Smith is annoying. People complain about Stewart Scott but seriously...it's kinda like my newfound appreciation of Regan after these past couple of years. Somebody tell him to STFU. I like the way that Greg Anthony and others don't just let smith walk over them.

BTW, to ESPN: your analysts don't have to yell at each other to get our attention. Fire him, after you take care of Walton.

:(

You guys are mean. ;)

Umm, no. I have NEVER known who the freaking SCOUTS were for a team, even during Chicago's run. Sorry. As for Grant, how many games did he play this year? I also didn't watch many games prior to January, as I was swamped with schoolwork.

lol

I don't watch every game, but I watch 90+% of the playoff games, and most of the regular season games of the teams I like to watch play: LA, Sac, Dallas, Minnessota, Indiana.

Mean, the whole lot of you. :(

<skulks away>

If it makes you feel any better, I was wondering why old ass Grant was walking the sideline. They did mention it in the broadcast how he played earlier this year tho. Either way, don't worry...Kotxxx knows the 'ball' boys....hahahahaha...uh...no.

Hey, us Laker fans are ornery as fuck right now (and with good reason!). You're dealing with a bunch of pregnant women right now. Don't play with fire, Loki. DO NOT PLAY WITH FIRE!

just got back from a long day of work and...damn, i'm impressed. i'm still not convinced that the pistons will win the series but they've managed to revive my interest in this series and i'll probably stay interested for the rest of the series now.

<sarcasm> it's a conspiracy! david stern set this up to make sure there'll be 7-game series and guarantee good ratings! </sarcasm>

Winners of game 3 have gone on to win 27 of the last 31 times (which I'm sure you've all heard...hope the stat is accurate, it's something like that.)

Something to think about Lakers fans. =)

And Shaq is holding Kobe back from true Jordanness.

Is Shaq a free agent?

The Lakers needs to drop Shaq and pick up a T-Mac/Iverson type of player.

The lakers need another great guard of forward to be Kobe's Scottie Pippen.

- Only 7 teams had ever come back from a 2-0 deficit to win a 7 game series and this Lakers team did it in the SA series. If any team can come back to shock Detroit and their bandwagon fans, it's LA...

The lakers need another great guard of forward to be Kobe's Scottie Pippen.

They need some ATHLETIC bigs and some guards who can play defense (Kobe is gone)

In the playoffs it seems the Lakers NEED one of their bums to have one of those magical games to have a chance.

A+++ to Pistons! I still love Corliss.

If they got T-Mac, then Kobe would be the Pippen of the group.

It's sad to think of the basketball knowledge that people out there think THEY have. Without Shaq, Kobe would be shit. They can't trade Shaq. If anyone goes anywhere, it will be Kobe. And news flash, they won't have a Shaq or a PIPPEN on their team. Once Kobe moves on, it's over. Forget about it.

Without Shaq, Kobe would be shit

Why do people keep saying this? The guy averaged 40 fucking points for 9 games and 30 plus for more with Shaq out of the lineup. Without Kobe to spoonfeed him points off the drive, Shaq would be shit.

Who are the Pistons doubling and tripling in this series? Here's a clue, it's not fucking Shaq....

If they got T-Mac, then Kobe would be the Pippen of the group

Looks like you don't watch today's NBA either lol
