The Official Left 4 Dead Thread

Encounters with tanks go a little easier if one person is able to lure the Tank away from wounded teammates, then the other teammate can revive them and get more guns into the fight.

Looks a little small, but that autoshotgun is a beast of a weapon.
 
Managed to get past the Car Alarm section without waking anything up. For the hell of it I stood by the stairs and shot the car. The horde swarmed in and then a Smoker got me and dragged me right into the middle of them. :lol

I am sure the Director knows when I am using the rifle and zooming in. :lol It loves throwing zombies at me while I am zoomed in so they jump in my face.

Nothing like making it to the end on Expert and having some 'tard spook the witch while we're setting up the warehouse for the final battle. :/

Oh, and good job placing the Witch right at the end, five feet away from the minigun, while we're all down to next to nothing healthwise, Director. *highfive* :lol

Oh, and is it just me or is Louis hilarious? Even when he's not saying anything, his facial expressions are gold. As a result, I'll never use him because then I couldn't see his awesomeness. :D
 
Ok guys... I can't believe I'm posting this but has anyone found the game released early anywhere? :lol I know its a bit early but I know a lot of games have been getting released early at some stores.

Even if it was released early, you couldn't play it due to it being a Steam game.

Gears 2 came out early at 7-Eleven. Early release games are usually caused by local individual retailers that screw up. X360 version of L4D is probably the best candidate for early release by retail screwing up. As for the Steam version, VALVe might game locked up 'til release day.
 
Son of Godzilla got in first, so he gets the key.

If the gamespot stupidness still works they are pretty easy to get, just took a day for me to get the codes.

Buggy, obviously, as it seems like the AI doesn't know what to do, but without adding spawn points or modifying the map in any way, the game still managed to place zombies and make it relatively playable with 0 work.

The game crashed on my 3850 AGP. I guess it just couldn't handle all the awesome. ATI makes phenomenal hw but their sw is awful. I'm hoping there are some tweaks thatat will fix the problem until ATI releases an update.
 
Anyone know if its possible to have 2 human plays and 2 A.I players in the demo? (360 version and other human is via Xbox Live)

It works in Steam, I don't see any reason it wouldn't work over Live.

Human players are even replaced by bots on the fly if they go AFK.

I have an X2 5000+ and it drops to around 25-30 FPS in VERY heavy spots, no matter what settings. I kinda find it hard to believe that he's getting over 70 at all times with an E6600. Anyway, I'm happy with the performance for this CPU.

I seriously think connection quality plays a huge factor in performance. I have a Q6600 OC, 8800GTS OC, and 4GB

4xAA
16xAF
Everything Maxed.
Never below 80fps
I don't think connection quality does, but this game does take advantage of quad cores. Check task manager while playing and you'll see it maxing out core 1-3.

Connection shouldn't have anything to do with it. The Source netcode is dependent on your framerate, not the other way around.

Okay well it did drop below 70...but only with lots and lots of molotovs in a small room.

Also, my E6600 is overclocked to 3.0GHz. My 8800GT is overclocked by about 15%.
 
I used to play CS: Condition Zero (Office was a good level for this) me against 20 knife wielding bots. It was kinda like L4D.
 
So we got to the end with a full crew and finished off the warehouse defense. We're getting ready to head to the safe room and a smoker jumps through the upstairs window and drags the straggler to the complete opposite side of the warehouse. Rather than save him, we leave him to die and shut the safe room door.

All you hear coming through the mic is screams of, "Help.. HELP!" and once he realised his fate a final, "Fuck you guys!" while his takes his last breath. Needless to say, we're in the safe room laughing our asses off. :lol
 
I wonder if human zombies can use sprays, it'd certainly have interesting results.

"I saw you pitiful humans huddling here. I could have taken one of you, but I didn't.

Moohaha!!!"

Someone needs to take Mecklenburg from The Specelist and convert it for this.
 
lol I went to ebgames.com put the game in my checkout cart did everything except give them a credit card number so I didnt even order it and they still sent my a demo code, downloading now. I did the same with COD WaW seems to work everytime.
