I don't know how cheap you wanna go but I wouldnt really get a cheap mic, most likely its gonna stop working after a while and you end up spending more in the future.

I've tried the gamepad on my laptop and it works pretty well. I'm not sure the aim-assist is present like on the 360 version but it's still very playable... I beat the game on advanced with no problems at all (didn't try expert with the gamepad)

Just beat all the campaigns in one sitting with Red Scarlet, StalkerU, and 3 other guys who filled in the fourth slot. I'm too tired to type.

I am really unhappy. When most of the people falls in love with a game, usually I understand why, even if I don't love that game. But in this case, I am so disappointed for every aspect of L4D (graphics, gameplay, sound), that I really don't get the point. Woo, game finally started downloading fast, so Pop and I went through all 4 campaigns with random 3rd and 4th players (StalkerU joined in on campain 2 and was there for the rest) on advanced. Took about 10 hours.
Campaign 2's finale took the longest out of everything. A few times we had a chance, but something blah would happen here or there.
I died for the end of campaign #1, but lived at the end of the others. I wish I knew where screencaps get saved, as I took a couple neat ones (like everyone getting the no damage from a Tank at the same time). I set F5, but no idea where in the steam/L4D folder they get put.
Pop and I both got FPS slowdown on two levels, at the same spot (campaign 3 finale, campaign 4 last area). I got 21 of those achievement things, so I guess that is kinda cool.
Had a lot of fun Pop, Stalker, and those that played with us. Sorry about the friendly fire (but I wasn't the one with the most for 2 of the campaigns! I'm getting better!), let's try VS mode sometime.
Now I can sleep for a bit and let my left pinky recover; shooting so much cramped the hell out of it. :lol

After playing the god awful looking, horrible controlling 360 demo several time thru. I decide to check out the PC demo to see if it looks/plays just as weak.
Only valve pulled the demo from steam since the full game launched!
Funny but after playing demo I feel like everyone else is hypnotized because this game has valve's name on it. This is a company that treats it's fanbase like crap as well. Even EA doesn't pull demos after release.

This reminds me of one memorable moment (out of many) I've had in the game. We were in a relatively pristine room with white walls (don't recall exactly what campaign) just catching a breath and plotting our next move, before The AI Director decided to throw a horde of zombies at us.. We took care of them, and the blood-splattered walls and body parts laying around after the fight created a striking before/after contrast. It looked like some serious hell had just been unleashed in that room, which had previously just looked like any innocent old room. This game has a pretty remarkable visual impact a lot of the time, with much of it affecting mood.

Right when I want to buy this game, Steam doesn't even work. Everytime I try to load it nothing happens. Anyone have any solutions?

Ah, yeah, thanks. I thought I made more, but all that came up are the end of campaign 1 when nabs was all who got away, us all getting the no damage from a Tank, and the very end of campaign 4.
Pop wanted the one from 4, so here's those 3:

Yea and if the survivors are on the ball, it's pretty much heavily in their favour. The Infected abilities are too weak against the Survivors on normal. Played a whole campaign last night. It literally takes a hunter almost a whole minute to kill someone who's at full health.Ferrio said:

I agree it takes a long time. But this isn't about trying to stop the survivors, It's about who can come out the best as the survivors. If infected killed survivors so easily, then you'd never seen 3/4 of the level, and most of the rating of how well the survivors do would be pretty pointless since it would almost always end in a wipe.
Difficulty is fine, and I see exactly why valve put it that way and I approve.
