Just left Bunker... Watched Fred P. spin for 4 hours. Prosumer was supposed to get on the decks at 1, but Fred was absolutely SLAYING it that there was no way he could get off and allow Prosumer on. I have seen dozens of big name DJs, but Fred P knows how to work a crowd better than anyone out there. I am so fortunate to have to seen him tonight, but so fucking sad that I will never know a single song he played tonight.

edit: I'm sorry to geek out like this, but I have literally never seen a DJ like him tonight. It was effortless, so seemingly easy, it seemed like he never even cued up the tracks before dropping it in. At one point, I walked up to him to ask what song he was playing (it was this ridiculous track with the most insane clap I had ever heard) and he couldn't even tell me what it was. He just waved his hands at his decks and said, "I don't... it's just... you know, it's happening," and then shook my hand. <3 This is why I love fucking house music. And just when I thought I knew how to put together a peak time set, I learned I was extremely wrong.

Sounds like it was a special night. Fred P is a superb DJ and producer. His RA podcast was probably the best of 2010, track it down if you haven't got it.

Ahaha. We've all been like that (in my case, more often than not... I'm not going to mention how many posts I've just clicked the "X" on because of self-censoring).

Hey, did I tell you guys about this track I heard last weekend? Not at Robert Babicz, but at Silicone Soul. But wasn't played by them... was one of the other acts in another area. I'm pretty much in love with this track. At least, that squelchy filter that hits that lead synth around 3:00 min (though it's only 10-15 sec in this clip, given it's not the full track):
Rebel - Hearing Voices

If you can find the full song to listen to (or buy) you'll know what I mean. Such a great track!

Anyone know anything about the label Super freq and the guys that Dj under it?
Got an invite to a night of there's in June but I have no idea who any of the Djs are or what they play.
Mr C was one of them I think, his fb picture weirded me out and I haven't looked anything else up since.

"Superfreq E'special ft Mr.C / Adultnapper / Alexi Delano / Luke vB"

Eprom - Regis Chillbin/Machinedrum Remix Fun little single. The original is sparse and nothing fancy, and Machinedrum just takes it into a completely different direction. Highly recommended.
this just reminded me i wanted to post this:
machinedrum @ coachella 2012

it's a crowd recording, but goddamn his set was great. he ended with the above track and then 'alarma'.

also i've been on a BoC kick lately and my brain reminded me this exists:

kona triangle - signs and wonders
kona triangle - long mountain
kona triangle - mango rubicon

the short, dirty and 90% accurate way to describe it would be "if boards of canada got happy and collab'd with flying lotus."

shit's great.

Any party where Adultnapper is mixing it up should be mandatory.
One of the best techno sets I ever heard is from him. (midweek techno Adultnapper @ Mr Fontes B-day party 2008)

Adultnapper does an excellent job. Mr. C is WEIRD, but he's a lot a lot a lot of fun, and I don't care for Alexi Delano at all (any more). Expect lots of tech-house and techno goodies, should be a fun time! I was just reading about the event and it seems to be in a really cool space, so check it out and let us know.

edit: Holy fuck at that Disclosure remix!

edit: So, BNJMN just released a free EP under his new side project, Singing Statues. Definitely not at all what I expected from him, but someone will probably enjoy it. Reminds me a lot of Do Make Say Think or Tortoise, very poppy-post rock.

Cheers for the info :) We are going now as I thought what the hell!

Edit: i should probably read the new responses before rushing to post eh?

Yeah, this song is pretty ridiculous. God damn.

edit: HAHA. That Fantastic Mr. Fox song led me to this track by Julio Bashmore, Au Seve, with this hilarious description:

"Fast cars, money, but no record label to truly call my own? This ends today...
Hi, I'm Julio Bashmore.
Somehow I have found time between jet-setting around the globe, becoming a voice for the people via my Radio One show and generally living the high life to bring you a brand new label, Broadwalk Records.
Today heralds a new era in the Julio Bashmore chronicles, with a sound that shall echo through the ages..."

The song is pretty weak, too.

also: Last Magpie - Pilau Rice
Has this been talked about? Aaliyah - Try Again (Redlight Booty) DOPE.
and: Dusky - Flo Jam The break in the middle is amazing.

I should add I know less than nothing about techno (as far as im aware) so It could all be wasted on me but the venue sounds pretty awesome and its cheap so its not hard to agree to go.

My lord, that new Kahn single is absolutely fantastic. Part 2 is such a gorgeous tune, he straight up owns that vocal sample.

Joelseph, see Mykki Blanco is getting some press/play. Where's the thread? "Join My Militia" has got some interesting production.

Aiming for this summer it appears....

One of the best techno sets I ever heard is from him. (midweek techno Adultnapper @ Mr Fontes B-day party 2008)

I've seen Adultnapper at Electric Zoo one year and the poor guy got stuck with an opening slot, playing in a tent to nobody. I wasn't a fan of what he played but I stayed and listened just because I felt bad. :(

Silicone Soul dropped their Soma20 remixes. Well worth listening to for recent talent in deep and tech-house. The remixes of Right On, Right On are awesome, especially Matt Tolfrey's jackin' version.

Saw Silicone Soul live a week and a bit ago. From what I remember, they were pretty awesome! But only one of the dudes did the majority of the playing, the other guy just seemed trashed.

Also, can't check from work but wasn't one of those remixes by Maetrik/Maceo Plex? Filthy as all hell. Love it.
