is beloved, despite what anyone might say
Also, you guys see this? Mixmag has a vote for the greatest dance track of all time. Some good stuff on here, some tracks totally missing (Rez but no Cowgirl??? Return to Atlantis but no Horizons? Pjanoo being the only Prydz track?), and some awful awful stuff like Afrojack and Guetta.

My pick is pretty obvious ;)

That track just fucking goes on and on and on... it's great to listen two once or twice if you haven't heard it for a while, but then you're over it. It's like McDonald's in that respect.

Your taste sucks ;)

THERE'S ONLY ONE JAM AND SPOON TRACK?!? FUCKING HELL.

Songs I struggled to decide between:
Jam and Spoon - Stella (Follow Me isn't there :/)
Bizarre Inc - Playing With Knives
Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (This appears twice in the list! Also there as Cafe Del Mar - Energy 52)
Da Hool - Meet Her At The Love Parade
Booka Shade - In White Rooms
Donna Summer - I Feel Love
Gat Decor - Passion (probably gets my vote)
Jaydee - Plastic Dreams
Laurent Garnier - The Man With The Red Face (fuuuck, forgot about this)
Lil' Louis - French Kiss
Nalin & Kane - Beachball (fuck, this too)
New Order - Blue Monday (likely winner?)

But no good will come of it. I'm curious to see what will win, but it'll probably be Born Slippy or something.

Ha, what a weird selection. Gunman got my vote because UK. Any other contest and it would've been Acperience.

I laughed at 'Love Simulation', especially since it's the PvD mix anyway

This is the best dance song of all time btw:

Agent Sumo - Snakecharmer

Ain't a dancefloor it can't move.

Also, this

I have to log in with Facebook to cast a vote? Eh screw that.

I've also been jamming out to Cafe del Mar radio on Last.fm. It's pretty chill and relaxing, especially when I use it on my 360 and get those awesome photos of Ibiza beaches and sunsets on my 50" TV.

Jacques Greene - Concealer is such a dark, rnb soaked ep. First song is good, the rest are total bangers.

Jacques Greene - Ready is akin to his usual more poppy stuff, but also more progressive. A different style from the above. Really exciting to see what hes doing next.

Cole Co - Can't Stop is a good ep, but after one listen doesn't have the sheer power of the followup. Which is fine. Growth is good.

Shed - The Killer. Can't judge till I listen more, but its a very unique, industrial dirty dance record. Barely dance.

Bicep just keeps shining for me. On 313/Winter. Definitely more laid back than their music up to this point. $tripper is a MONSTER track too.

Have been on repeat since it was posted. Fucking amazing.

EDIT:
I've been sorting my collection off and on this whole year, and earlier i posted a bunch of artists for a user that was looking for nu disco tips.
Well, i'm almost done sorting out the most and i figured i could share the artists that somewhat fit the genre.
These artists are a collection of Nu Disco, "Indie Dance", Disco House and Deep House.
Hope y'all appreciate it.

EDIT 2:
Aww, i thought that if i put the list into code, a minimize/maximize button would appear.
My list became a long ass post, so i decided to put the artist list in a pastebin link instead.
http://pastebin.com/jVCbM6P2

Gimme a couple of weeks and i'll sort it out into different genres instead. In the meantime, check out the artists listed!

New Clicks & Whistles is pretty fun, "Fumando" kind of reminds me of Eprom's "Regis Chillbin".

Fumando / Southern Slaw

Liked their 2 Much Higher EP on Symbols too, even though it sounded like it a Machinedrum copy.

Aeroplane - In Her Eyes (Tiger & Woods Remix)
Lorenz Rhode - Superficial Robots (Jimmy Edgar Remix)

Star Slinger - Jet Jam Mixtape #2
1. BONDAX - I GOT THAT
2. CHRIS E. PANTS - PASS IT AROUND
3. PERSEUS - SEYCHELLES
4. STAR SLINGER - 4 CHRIST SAKE
5. LOL BOYS - CHANGES (STAR SLINGER REMIX)
6. SWEATER BEATS - MLLN DLLR
7. DISCLOSURE - LATCH (T WILLIAMS CLUB EDIT)
8. ELLE VARNER - REFILL
9. DIAFRIX - HELICOPTER (STAR SLINGER REMIX)
10. BONDAX - YOU'RE SO (STAR SLINGER REFIX)
11. KW GRIFF - BRING IN THE KATZ
12. DESTINY'S CHILD - SAY MY NAME (CYRIL HAHN REMIX)
13. MILLION DOLLAR MANO - LADY
14. JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE - THE END OF TIME (FEAT. BEYONCE) (BRENMAR REMIX)
15. STAR SLINGER - TAKE THIS UP

edit: Also plugging this, crosspost from POP GAF

Charli XCX's Super Ultra Mixtape is out today!

04 “Dance 4 U” (Prod. Sinjin Hawke)

"Making it was an intense experience for me coz I basically wrote the whole thing whilst I was driving around in a car in Poland. I was only there for two days so everything is totally raw. All the songs are about love. Sometimes it’s stupid love and sometimes it’s heartbreaking love. It’s about being confused. In particular, GLOW is a really emotional song for me. I think I had my first proper breakdown when I wrote that song. I cried a lot.

I cried a lot whilst making this mixtape, which is funny because some of the songs seem quite light-hearted and a bit… I dunno… Gangster. To me they’re all sad songs in some way though. Some songs were inspired by moments in movies – like DANCE 4 U was inspired by the opening scene of Planet Terror, where Rose McGowan does the pole dance. I think that’s a really sad and desperate scene. It makes me cry when I watch it.

I guess that’s all just personal shit though. I don’t want people to be sad when they listen to SUPER ULTA… I want them to be happy, and I want them to dance. No one dances in this town anymore."

I fell in love with that new Chrissy Muderbot deep track at the beginning of the SS tape so I showed it to a few producer friends on FB. They done fell in love and are gonna make some deep ghetto this weekend. ;)

So, I'm a bit new to all things electro so much that I don't even know if that I listen to qualifies.

Basically, this is awesome and I'm looking for more artists in the same genre.

Any recommendations?

I consider those genres to be electronic. What genres does this thread exactly encompass. Electronic music is just a giant overarching umbrella category. I've felt the general tastes of the general posters in here always differed a bit from my own.

This brings up a question I've been meaning to ask everyone in here. Would it be okay if I started my own dedicated DnB/Jungle/Breakbeat thread? I was also thinking about making another one for NuJazz/Electroswing/Downtemp. I'm asking because I don't want to divide this thread up.

Here's the thread

...And sure you could try but good look getting any sort of response, that's too specific

Holy christ that thread is beautiful.

Not sure what is so specific about that thread idea... guess I should add 2-step and liquid too. But really that genre is pretty diverse between all its artists. The scene is incredible mature at this point.
