Can't be much more groundbreaking than a halloween breakcore set featuring some pop and some disgusting electronic music?

This is the set

Surprisingly, though rather appropriately, this recording starts of with a few of the tracks from the Tekken Tag 2 soundtrack (in case you haven't heard it, its pretty damn good), there's even a track from SFxTK! Who'd have thought anything good would emerge from that? There's some Lady Gaga at 7 minutes in. R Kelly gets involved at 11 minutes, for some reason I play La Roux at 13 minutes, followed by some of the bonus stage music from Minna no Rhythm Tengoku.

Oh and... there's lots of drum and bass, and jungle, and gabba, and whatnot interspersed.

Even some Pulp!

So, Hot Since '82 is coming to Melbourne soon. Now I think of it, I've heard some oh his tracks but had never heard the name. Anyone have any info on him?

Also, Hot Toddy is coming up. Kinda pumped. Not to mention Todd Terje as well! Woo!

I fucking love Melbourne's Spring/Summer. Puts the rest of the year to shame as far as tours go. The fact I get to see someone like Terje for only $30 is beyond ridiculous(ly awesome).

Can't see it at work, but man, I love me some Silicone Soul. Their 2005(?) Essential Mix is perfection. Even better is that they uploaded the mix themselves to their soundcloud without all the Radio 1 markers and direct feed/better bitrate.

Is that EP out now or soon?

I saw them do a set earlier this year. Wasn't as good as I thought they'd be (given their EM) but it wasn't horrible.

Their productions are far better. There's a killer Maceo Plex (or Maetrik?) remix of Jazzercise which I love, too.

Yeh, Silicone Soul are definitely better suited as producers more than DJs. Most of the Soma stable are, like Christian Smith, Funk D'Void etc. They do occassionally deliver killer sets though, it's just obvious they're better at programming beats than mixing and syncing.

I've only heard one song by Maetrik, Snorkel I think it's called and it was one of my favourites from a couple of years back. Will definitely check out that 3AM mix.

EDIT: DAMN, tune! They sure don't make them like that any more. Or maybe they do and I'm looking in the wrong places.

Scottish techno ftw btw.

Did you know Maetrik is the alter ego of Maceo Plex? And I noticed today that he's doing work with Danny Daze under the name Jupiter Jazz.

Danny Daze would have to be one of the highlights this year as far as live sets go. Absolutely astounding. Gave a fair few Superpitcher tracks a go, too :)

I think its the other way around, he was Maetrik before Plex but same thing really.

Apparently Im going to some rave on saturdy that has Bassline, Psy Trance and Hard Techno listed. Bit scared.. might hide in the room playing Jungle.

Dude, it's thanks you and this thread that I found one of the best prog house tunes ever. You know the one I mean. Never heard of Maceo Plex though.

Hey everyone, we're very sad to announce that the Boiler Room NYC session at the W Hotels Worldwide this Thursday is officially cancelled. Manhattan remains mostly without power and the storm just caused too much damage for us to pull this back together in time. Hope to have news of a rescheduled event for you soon. There's a Ben UFO b2b Jackmaster b2b One man 3 hour mix just gone up via Boileroom tv. Can't link as I'm on my phone.

Best thing about the diplo mix was the owl story lol. R l grimes was good if only for R U Ready. Someone needs to nick that off a djs laptop and spread it to the world..
