I have the ''preview version''. ;)

Turned out there were problems with my 2 tracks that are to be released, something I never heard of.
Both basslines were sent out in stereo, which causes problems when it’s being pressed on vinyl.

Why is it so important for mixes to be mostly in phase and the bass being in mono?

Phase is more or less irrelevant to CD but when mastering to vinyl it's very important.

If the mix is in phase (mono), the cutter stylus will move from left to right - if the mix is out of phase (stereo) it causes the stylus to move up and down. Too much up and down movement (out-of-phase) will produce a groove that's too shallow or interrupted. This will cause the playback needle to leave the groove or jump. If the low bass is in stereo (out-of-phase) the cutter stylus might leave the surface of the record thus leaving the plate unusable.

Last night I managed to make both basslines mono, so now it should work, and my EP will hopefully be released within 1.5 weeks. (on the 5th of December if things turn out fine)

Also that Wholesick guys stuff is really good, I listen to three of them (discobella, a june/july one I found and a guyfawkes one) loads, when I get a chance ill listen to some of the stuff posted since then :lol

just found this thread. electro FTMFW. wanted some suggestions. ive been a frequent beatport visitor for quite some time and my main likes are progressive trace and electro, but after seeing some house artists live i want MOAR MOAR MOAR. saw deadmau5 live and fell in love with his music. what artists are similar to this? i dont care if its fully underground or slightly commercial.


also, gareth emery ftw. i knew i was in a good thread when i saw his name xD

yeah i have that one, nothing feels as good as the original to me. and i dont like dubstep, its weird. i also dont like crookers typically lol.

Lots of progressive trance artists have been ripping off the "8th note" sound popularized by Deadmau5. Check out - EDX, Glenn Morrison, Adam K and Soha, Morgan Page for starters.

Only ones I've seen on that list are the mau5 and Marco Carola. Not too familiar with any of the other artists aside from the big house/techno names (main arena/AG hall)... and I'm not so much into glitchy electro type stuff anymore. Laurent Garnier is the one I would personally look most forward to seeing... heard LOTS of good things about him.

hey, I have a fun assignment for any of you guys that want to play along. I need some drops for my mixtapes so I want as many people as possible to record themselves saying "TOUCH BASS" or " DJ TOUCH BASS" or "touch bass, I fucking love this shit" or whatever fun you can think of in a cool/crazy/computer voice. try to make it 2-10 seconds long.
