Haha yeah, I laughed as well.

Guys, put away your pretentious caps for a second... this is pure killer and everything I could have hoped for from such a collaboration. The first single from the Stuart Price (Jacques Lu Cont) produced Pet Shop Boys album "Electric":
Pet Shop Boys - Axis

The production is the best I've heard on a track for a REALLY long time, and it just screams fun, smooth, disco club-banger. I'm now probably more pumped for this album more than the new Daft Punk one.

New Daft Punk, Nice old school Chemical Brothers mix, Nicholas Jaar, Boards of Canada and now Pet Shop Boys.

The Tracques album has already been released! Available on Spotify, and I saw the vinyl on Juno the other day (incl. a download code).

What wat? Had no idea it was officially out! Thought it was due out June for some reason.

Welp, there goes another X dollars out of my wallet. Expensive few months!

*cough*splutter* slight avatar bias opinion incoming

It's about time they made something incredibly electronic and dance orientated. The youtube video is nice, but the full version on itunes is far more epic and thumping. Stuart Price mentions their 1986 remix album Disco as being a massive influence, as well he should, it's ace.

I'm looking for old-school drum and bass like Goldie. I know I've heard something like it before but can't remember it (Meat Beat Manifesto?). Just want more recommendations.

I'm *really* looking forward to the new PSB album. At this point, I would say even moreso than RAM:
When the Pet Shop Boys began working with Price, they made it clear that they wanted to make a "dance record". Price stated that his goal was for every track to have a "euphoric, fresh feel to it". The more dance-influenced nature of Electric was a response to the "reflective mood" of their previous album, Elysium.

Probably going to order it on vinyl, I think. Still need to get a turntable, though :/

My absolute favorite album of all time, but I think you're in the wrong thread. The only thing electronic about them is their guitars.

Miksushag: I did indeed let out a little squeal when I saw that. She's a classy little lady.

Bought a lot of 120 BPM tracks last weekend, going to try and make a slow mix soon. (not faster than 122 BPM)

It's really fun to see that the older I get, the lower my preferred BPM gets.

it's been a while guys, i've been chocka DJing most weekends. So big thanks again to you all for keeping my record box updated!

This has been absolutely destroying it for me for the last few months.
The Informations - Lion's Hand ( Cyclist Remix ).

Also if you've got nothing planned this evening ( 8pm GMT ) why not tune in and have a listen, I'll be jamming with a few mates on Ustream. There'll be plenty of beer drank and various things smoked, so expect anything really.

hopefully see some of you in the chatroom!

I saw Flume last night. He seems to do shit all live and it was an all ages so we were surrounded by twelvies but was still fun. He played his new remix of Rustie's Slasherr. To be honest it wasn't anything to write home about, best parts were the drop from the original.

A few days ago I posted that Kastle released his album, now I've listened it a few times, top quality stuff. Everyone should seriously give the Kastle album ('Kastle') a listen. So good, my favorite album so far this year (followed by Bonobo). Really worth listening.

Was coming in here now to ask for impressions on Kastle's LP! I'm going to listen to it tomorrow. Will also check out Bonobo's LP cheers.

I'm booting up Classixx - Hanging Gardens, sounds wonderful so far :)

Ooh gotta hit this up too.

It's pretty fun but kinda uneven, it has some really dope tracks and some very 'meh' ones. (currently listening for the 3rd time so I dont really have a valid opinion yet.)

I swear to god XLR8R gives every release there is a 7.5/10.

To give that Citizen EP anything higher would be ridiculous. As a whole, it's not a fantastic EP. "So Submissive" alone, though, is aces.

Also, stop reading reviews.

I wasn't specifically referring to that review, but as soon as I saw they put a new review up I was able to predict the score. As usual. Its just funny is all.

I'd give an 8 I think. Best track is actually the W&O remix imo.

I don't read reviews really. Site is good for news/info on releases.

Ah, my bad. I hope I don't seem like I'm ragging on you, man. My job lately has been making me into a stress ball, so I've been lashing out at people without realizing it.

Also, you're totally right about xlr8r. A friend of mine is a writer for them, I'll have to get some dirt on them from him.

And the thing about not reading reviews was aimed more towards everybody in the world, not really you. My favorite recent review, speaking of, is the Pitchfork review where they call Cosmin TRG's last album, Simulat, a tech-house album.

edit: mmmm, New Kanada... That Graze EP is great.
