A source close to the show on Tuesday told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) B.J. Penn recently shut down a taping and interview session for the series and no longer wants involved in the project.

Penn was apparently unhappy with how he was portrayed in last week’s debut of the series, which hypes a Jan. 31 UFC 94 main event fight between the Hawaiian fighter and UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre.

Aww, BJ throws a tantrum because he doesn't like how he's being portrayed on the show.

Poor baby!

I think it's funny this came out today, it reminded me to watch the show tonight. Publicity stunt for even better ratings? Penn gave an interview before the show aired anticipating this is the kinda stuff they'd highlight, so I doubt he was overly shocked.

Honestly though, they did kinda make Penn look like a dick (not that he has a problem doing it on his own) while portraying GSP as king shit of fuck mountain. But it just makes the lead in to the fight all the more fun, imo.

There is some truth to the sterotypes and of course the UFC is going to market toward that. I always personally thought that's what BJ was going for. A bit of the bad boy image though not to a level of an Ortiz.

aaand the show opens with BJ whining about how he was portrayed last week. :lol
bj calling gsp a little bitch for tappin from strikes is awesome. :lol

and bj opening the show complaining about last week just makes me think that press release was a publicity stunt even more

My picks for the main card. This is an awesome card because so many fighters I like are fighting on it.

Really difficult to pick and honestly I prefer BJ to win but it just seems like GSP has more ways to win. I could pick BJ to win because I want him to but I would just be a phony contrarion. I will say if it turns into a boxing match I think BJ definitely has the edge but it just seems like GSP would fight smart and end up putting him on the ground almost like the Henderson Franklin fight. I think it will go to a decision though.

Georges St-Pierre vs. B.J. Penn

Similar situation as above. I want Silva to win but Machida is skilled enough to win by staying away and counter punching and kicking especially in a three round match. My heart is for Silva but my brain says Machida in his usual relatively efficient but relatively boring style.

Lyoto Machida vs. Thiago Silva

Not familar with Jones despite his good record so I'll stay with experience and Bonnar.
Stephan Bonnar vs. Jon Jones

Another really cool fight with Karo versus stun gun. I see ways both guys could win but I'll pick Karo as stun gun had a somewhat difficult outing his last go for a newcomer to the UFC.
Karo Parisyan vs. Dong Hyun Kim

And another crowd pleaser. WAR GUIDA! Dude never puts on a boring fight but sadly kind of easy to see him getting caught in a submission with his aggresive style in this one.
Nate Diaz vs. Clay Guida

I strongly doubt that this will go to a decision. I know BJ is training harder and all, but do people really believe that he can last 5 rounds? at 170lbs? against Georges Fucking St-Pierre??? From the primetime show, it doesn't seem that he's training that much harder either (regardless of the Dana White drama). While watching him running, all i could think was "wow he runs like a bitch, I have better cardio than this guy".

I think that the only person who will ultimately push BJ to his limit is GSP himself, and by then it'll already be too late for BJ.

this primetime show is doing nothing but shifting the odds to GSP's favor. GSP's camp does look better while Penn's looks like it's full of yes men that let BJ do what he wants and laugh and agree with anything he says. fk BJ, don't fuck this up.

I have a friend like that. They don't even have a kid, he just got married and now decided he can't go out and watch UFC anymore. She has no problem with it but he is scared that she will so he doesn't go anymore.

What a bitch.

George St Pierre (-180) vs BJ Penn (+150)
Lyoto Machida (-285) vs Thiago Silva (+225)
Stepan Bonnar (-170) vs Jon Jones (+140)
Karo Parisyan (-295) vs Dong Hyun Kim (+235)
Nate Diaz (-130) vs Clay Guida (even)
Jon Fitch (-500) vs Akihiro Gono (+300)
Thiago Tavares (-135) vs Manny Gamburyan (+105)
Chris Wilson (-350) vs John Howard (+275)
Jake Obrien (-240) vs Christian Wellisch (+190)
Matt Arroyo (-200) vs Dan Cramer (+160)

Machida/Silva line seems kinda crazy to me. Silva's almost worth it at +225, what do you guys think?

Hey, so for someone who doesn't bet but will be in Vegas to see the fight, how does it work? If I put $100 on Silva and he wins I win $225?

Okay, that's a frickin' cool workout. But I'm not sure if it's truly that an extreme cardio workout that BJ's claiming. He doesn't seem all that exhausted.

:lol @ BJ's trainer trying to claim BJ has the higher-calibre training camp.

edit: aaaand BJ cements himself as the asshole. God I hope GSP smashes him.

holy crap @ the media.

How far the sport has come. Who would have thought an MMA fighter would be Canadian Athlete of the Year. (yeah, it's Sportsnet, but still :lol)

edit: David Loiseau sighting!

Well.

UFC Primetime is officially fucking awesome. That ending montage was perfect.

The UFC definitely has to continue these Primetime shows for big fights. The production values of this show help to put UFC on the same quality level as HBO boxing fights.

I'm SO HYPED!!!!!

I'd be far more hyped if UFC 94 was GSP vs. Alves and BJ vs. Florian.

I really see no need for this weight class jumping nonsense.

The need is that BJ needs his gawdamned mouth shut.

But GSP/Alves and BJ/Florian sounds like a good lineup for UFC 100-ish for August after GSP smashes BJ. :D

I can't wait for this fight!

I love GSP but I am kind of rooting for BJ Penn, just because GSP has been too dominating.

Also rooting for Nate Diaz...just cause I love his comeback at the last moment and get them to submit.

i dont know any of those songs. the one that played when rashad showed up sounded like gnarls barkley? i dont keep up with music well so i am pretty much clueless.

i agree, the ending montage was awesome. very well put together show, really really professional. i hope they keep doing it for the big fights- every third or fourth UFC. cool seeing the crow- i think he makes his first fight back against ed herman sometime soon? i really hope he can come back strong, but i am not getting my hopes up.

i will have to make all my picks sometime tomorrow, i still have to think!

BLASPHEMER!

One cannot love both GSP and BJ.

This fight is an MMA Ragnorok. One must choose a side, between the forces of good, and those of evil.

One cannot love GSP, but root for BJ.

Choose! And those who choose wrong (ie. you BJ fans) will face reckoning after the fight...

I kind of like rooting for Underdogs.

I love this sport and so happy to see it take off. =)

Georges St. Pierre - BJ in shape at WW? I'll believe it when I see it. I think GSP will wear him down and get a TKO by GnP.

Lyoto Machida - Silva will probably have as much trouble hitting Machida as everyone else has. Machida by decision.

Stephan Bonnar - From what I saw of Jones in his first fight he's a good wrestler and agressive striker. But his striking is also very sloppy and Bonnar is slick as hell on the ground. I'll take Bonnar by sub.

Karo Parysian - Judo vs Judo. Hopefully someone gets dropped on their head. Kim did not impress me at all against Matt Brown. Karo should be able to take this one by decision.

Nate Diaz - I love Clay Guida. He's one of my favorite fighters. But this is a bad match up for him IMO. Nate is the better striker and he might actually be most dangerous from his back. Which is exactly where Clay is going to want to put him. I think its just a matter of time before Clay gets caught in a sub.

Jon Fitch - Probably gonna be a boring fight. So I dont really mind that its on the undercard. Fitch wont want to strike with Gono and he probably wont be able to do much with him on the ground but hold him there. Fitch by UD.

Thiago Tavares - I just cant stand Manny and this is pretty much a toss up so I'll go with Thiago.

Chris Wilson - I dont really know anything about Howard so I'll just go with Wilson. He made things difficult for Fitch last year in Columbus.

Jake O'Boring - Jake will probably dry hump his way to victory.

Dan Cramer - Dan showed alot of heart and toughness on his season of TUF. Arroyo showed very little of either.

The song at the end is Last Man Standing by People in Planes

Rashads song is Desire by Pharoahe Monch

OMG! That was hilariously bad. I had seen some pictures from the set, but I thought they were just some guy with a quickshot cam having fun. Apparently that was the camera they used to shoot the whole movie with about as much skill. Seriously, it is less the action choreography and stunts as it is the absolutely infantile camera work.

Watching the promos for this fight makes me really want BJ to get his face rearranged. Playing them back-to-back really shows how much class and respect for the sport GSP has compared to BJ. BJ's trash talking is part of his shtick, and why I normally like him. But GSP means more to this sport IMO, and I want to see him lift the belt again after the fight. PEACE.
