I can remember when I was seven years old, and every comic book in the store was seventy-five cents.

I can remember watching the Challenger explode in fifth grade.

I can remember when there were no Wal-Marts in my town. Only K-mart and Sears.

I can remember watching Solid Gold, Three's Company, Sanford & Son, The Facts of Life, Silver Spoons, and Alice. Pre-syndication.

I can remember the Wendy's 'Where's the beef?' campaign.

i remember the Challenger explosion. i think i saw it live in class. i'm not sure, but i think the repeated showings of the tragedy killed my interest in astronomy -- i wanted to be an astronaut at the time.

Seeing the planes crash into the Twin Towers on 9/11, i started seeing the Challenger explosion in my mind, over and over again. For me, the two incidents are forever hotlinked in my brain.

I remember comics costing a quarter.
Cady bars were also a quarter, although Meijer had them for 16c.
On Sesame Street, only Big Bird believed in Mr Snufalpagus.
TV sets were designed like pieces of furniture.

I remember getting those little wind-up toy cars in Happy Meals.

I remember getting made fun of for wearing a hand-me-down shirt that had my cousin's last name on it instead of mine. :(

I remember my first concert. It was the Dead Milkmen and Mojo Nixon. Mojo made his piano player violate a blow up sheep on stage for playing Don Henley's "End of the Innocence". I was 12.

I remember when being a skateboarder was cool.

I remember when the 49ers and Redskins were good teams, and the Falcons sucked.

I remember when the Braves sucked, but we still went to games and got decent seats for $10.

I remember when the Hawks... ok, they've always sucked.

I can remember all that stuff too, although I'm a bit iffy on Sanford & Son. I never watched it, so I'm not sure if I was around pre-syndication for that one.

I also remember when the Menudo Cartoon and the Rubix Cube Cartoon came on saturday mornings back to back :)

I remember when the Berlin wall was torn down and not understanding why it was such a big deal, just that people were dancing and celebrating on a big wall.

One of my earliest memories was when my dad and mom took me and my little sister to see The Black Cauldron. I remember crying when that furry thing fell into the Cauldron and I remember nothing else about that movie. Nothing.

I remember when my mom picked me up from school after returning from the store with Super Mario 3 on launch day. I was the envy of my 5th grade class because a few of them saw me with it in the car and told everyone else.

Another very early memory. Me, my mother, and my two sisters were at the laundromat and my older sister was playing Ms. Pac-Man. I was wondering what she was doing so she picked me up with one arm while she controlled it with the other.
