The Player 1 Podcast Topic

Don't forget the moobs and the ear hair.

Every time you post, I imagine that you're on the other end, catching yourself typing "Intendo" or "the Mirror's Edge," and backspacing. "They don't suspect a thing."

I'm only 7 minutes in and I'm loving it.

Segment idea: Phil writes headlines for news stories as if he were a video games blogger. I want the guy who types, "New Donkey Kong Swings Into Stores On Friday," to take on the stalling Azerbaijan natural gas contracts.

Oh man, I am trying to remember what that even sounded like.

So yeah, LAST EPISODE??? JOKES????

This can't be the last episode. CJ, Phil and Greg are old men and thankful for every minute they don't have to spend with their wives/kids ;)

Excited for Phil. You'll be a great dad, mister.

Loved the episode. I'll be sad to see the podcast end at #300.

I'll be honest, for a moment there during Phil's thank yous I wasn't sure if you guys were joking anymore. :P

Congratulations on 250 episodes and Phil's baby!

I was about to bust out a few choked-back tears during those thanks yous, but I figured that might be pushing it.

And thanks for the congrats, folks. The wife and I are understandably excited.

Congrats Phil!

And fuck yeah, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Fruity Pebbles are the two best cereals.

Another great episode.
Man, I love cereal. I could have spent the entire episode reminiscing about old cereals that I used to eat.

Nice to hear the old and superior intro music again. I have a correction because I'm a huge nerd: the Wii's virtual console does indeed have import games like Super Mario Bros. 2 (JP version), Sin and Punishment, and Castlevania: Rondo of Blood.

Oh yeah, good job with the baby and the 250 episodes or whatever.

We knew that the Wii Virtual Console features import games. What we were trying to remember was if any of them were published by Nintendo. Of course, I have no excuse for why none of use could remember SMB2J or Sin and Punishment (especially since I own both of them on VC).

Considering that this is the only oversight that we've made in 250 episodes, I'd say that we're doing pretty well.

That was so much fun! Great job, best wishes, et cetera.

THAT SAID:

1. Is it impossible to get Greg Ford for these types of episodes?

2. Phil's Yahoo Serious joke turned around all of that goodwill. Australians hate it when people do that bad joke reference and will stab you (all of them carry large knives).

Thank god its not ending, you guys are one of my favorite podcasts. I EVEN BOUGHT THE APP, and sadly I hate to say it but its pretty crappy now. I was good for awhile but now it just fucks up on me constantly BUT STILL LOVE YOU GUYS.

Congrats to Phil!

And I admit, you guys did have me uneasy about the 'final'. I didn't think you would do a final episode without a retrospective, but the way the episode went, it left me thinking.

And then I thought one day, this WILL have to be over. And that honestly saddened me a bit and I had to go lie down. Seriously, you guys are my favourite podcast, and it will be a loss to me when you guys do end it.

It's a testament that I listen to it and I don't even play console games.

They just need to do it long enough until they can either pass it on to their kids or invent robots that can do podcasts for them. Dormer-bot 2.0.

Phil: Hey, let's beat it, man. I don't like it up here.
C.J: What are ya, scared of spikes?
Phil: I don't know. After what happened to Greg Ford...
C.J: Hey, look, man. Greg Ford got drunk and graduated off a roof, all right? No big loss.
Phil: No man... that ain't what I heard at all. I heard that The Bot got him.
C.J: The Bot? Aw man, give me a break, will ya?
Phil: Five hours straight recording. There wasn't no editing in that file.
C.J: No shit. I wasn't gonna' edit it.

....

DormerBot: I'm not going to kill you. I want you to do me a favor. I want you to tweet all your friends about me.

I want this to happen

Congrats on hitting 250, fellas. Even though I wasn't there for the first 100 episodes, I enjoyed the latter 150. Please keep 'em coming :).
And, of course, congrats Phil. More baby noises in the show is always a good thing

Congratulations on your 250 episode, I'm glad it's not the final episode (judging by the comments at least, I'm halfway through)

This is my favorite podcast btw, one of the few survivors from the golden era that keeps being awesome

I was sad that the podcast was ending. But then I was happy that it was ending because there was no Ford.
Then I was happy that it wasn't ending anymore. But then I remembered there was no Ford and was sad again. :(

Just listened to the latest episode.

First off, congratulation phil and dana i'm very happy for you and your family. Congrats guys to 250 episodes, i just realized how sad it would be if you really had to end the p1 podcast.

Great show as usual and still my favorite gaming related podcast. Keep on the goodwork.... 111!!!!

Listening to P1P feels like a very 'personal' part of my life. I relate very well to the presenters, as they're just 'the guys' just chilling/hanging with each other. What's sad is despite feeling like that, they all barely even know I/we exist. Maybe I need to send some ChitChats (NZs version of TimTams).

I think I've gotten to know Phil too well over the course of listening to this show. Cause if I had any doubts about 250 being the final episode as soon as he started his heartfelt thank yous I knew for certain it wasn't.

Congrats to you and Dana Phil, there's no way that kid of yours can fail to be awesome.

It's going to be interesting seeing how the show changes with all 3 hosts having kids to focus on.

I think it's awesome. I can't imagine having that kind of ambition and focus as a 13-year-old. I definitely didn't.

Wow CJ. I know you were young, but... :p

Oh yeah, very embarrassing now for sure. But then, the examples of gaming journalism that I held in high esteem at the time weren't exactly the new york review of books.

And I was only 13 or 14 at the time. :)

Don't feel too embarrassed. If you tossed your SF2 review text in an old EGM template, I wouldn't have second guessed that it was authentic. Although were are actually more restrained in handing out exclamation points than EGM was.

Phil: Excuse me doctor, I...
Nurse: I'm not a doctor, sir.
Phil: Wat? Then whose van is this?!?!?

Thanks for the show, guys.
