So I just listened to episode 300. I know I'm super late to the party, but congrats. Also, kudos to the guy who made the 300 episodes special. He did a good job.

I think the Player 1 Podcast is at it's best right now. Mike as the fourth chair is one of the best things to happen to the cast, imo. Also, the fact that they're all daddies right now, and don't shy away from talking about it makes it extra special than any other gaming podcast that I know of.

It's crazy to think that the cast is better than ever 300 episodes later.

Cheers guys, and keep on doing what you do.

A monster like you belongs in prison
Glad to see you got one quip in before the ban. For some football-ish thing going by your post history? I really don't understand sports.

I look forward to listening to the Mark of the Ninja talk.
Man, I downloaded the demo after the show, and golly that's a pretty cool game. I'm gonna have to buy it soon.

My son appreciates your kind words.

I hope I don't throw too many people off with the new avatar.

It was truth to power as always, Phil.

My go to reviewer for video game pinball, Tom Chick, actually did say the Plants v. Zombies table was so boring and easy as to be tedious. I hesitated to pick it up because of that but I think he (and probably you guys as well) play on kind of different level than I do. I just kind of hit the ball and hope for the best. Reading through the table guides on the tables in the Avengers pack is like a freaking flight sim manual.

GAME CENTER CX IS ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS OUT THERE! You guys didn't even mention the excellent Tamage segments. Boo on you.

I still remember my first day of school.

It wasn't my mother and father that took me there (they had to work), it was my grand mother.

I do remember entering the class room and watching a kid being hit by his mother because he messed up another's kid notebook. Kinda funny looking at it, the mother smacked the kid for every page that he messed up.

I do remember sitting down and maybe coloring something.

Then....... I noticed that my grandma was gone.

I began to ask where my grandma was.

I started crying and running to the door and I think it took 2-3 to hold me back.

I passed out crying.

I woke up sitting down and face down on the table.

The teacher looks at me alerted and says to me "Relax, Your grandma will pick you up soon"

Dumb question - what is the name of the chiptune remix song that they played this week?

Also, since when can you pre-order for in-store pickup at Shop of the Future? I didn't think that was an option... :(

I don't like the chiptunes that are basically midi files of modern hits run through a chip-tune synth, boring as heck.

Loved the podcast though, as always. May even go post a rating on iTunes, although these days I more often just download it through the Twitter App on Vita and then listen to it while, for instance, playing Zen Pinball 2. ;)

Plants vs Zombies does seem too easy, but the game needs some accessible tables as well. However, my tolerance for pursuing hour long sessions with any one table just went up, as it seems you can stop playing whenever you feel like it and play another table or even close the game, and then come back to that game on that table later.

I found out by accident, when I apparently had stopped a game on one of the tables and then when I got back to it later, it asked me if I wanted to resume my game. Pretty awesome!

Can't remember who was asking about Killzone 1 but I think that was an excellent game that got an unnecessarily harsh reputation. Guns with awesome alt fires? Check. Multiple playable characters with different weapons, play styles and sometimes even different routes through levels? Check. Guerrilla stripped out the most interesting parts of the game for KZ2 and 3.

That being said I'm not sure how it will hold up today in terms of level design and controls and all that, but the performance should be a lot better. I'm looking forward to playing it again.

They said it runs at a rock solid 30fps at 720p. They also remastered the audio and changed the controls to feel more like Killzone 2 and 3. They also confirmed it's coming out on PSN, I'm definitely grabbing it when it comes out.

Speaking of Killzone, have you played Liberation on the PSP mik? If not you should definitely grab it on PSN, it's the best shooter on the platform and works great on the Vita.

I got it when it first came out on the PSP and still play it on the Vita. Love it. I don't see how it's a shooter, though.

Ha, I was actually meaning to mention that in this thread. To me Liberation is the only competent Killzone game. I think Killzone 2 I might have been ok with if Tom Chick hadn't pointed out that you are a midget.

Totally not a shooter though.

Wait, Killzone 1 HD is a thing? I figured they were just speculating because Sony has released HD collections of everything else

I played the demo on a demo disc a bunch but never bought it

Anyway, speaking of Sony franchises, I'm still waiting for Ape Escape HD. Why does Sony hate those adorable apes?

yea, too bad it's in that trilogy bundle only. i wanna replay it with better visuals.

Mike you convinced me to buy the Tesla table. I think that demo may be the worst in gaming since Blue Dragon. That table really is freaking fantastic, but it takes a little bit for it to ramp up. Way more time than is allotted for each table demo.

POP Ep.308: Wiiiiiiu!

This week! It's Wii U launch details announcement week so we spend the first half of the podcast talking about that. Plus: Jet Set Radio HD, Super Hexagon, NBA Baller Beats, Double Dragon Neon, qrth-phyl, 3rd party controllers, long-dormant franchise revivals, Madden league fun, and more!

Cool, thanks for the heads up!

Also thanks for being able to start the download straight from the twitter link, makes it super easy to download on Vita and now I'll be listening to it while playing Zen Pinball 2 in bed. :)

I bought the iPhone App, but some day soon I'm going to send some more appreciation your way.

I like Wombat's Bane. Phil's sounds closer but Wombat covers his mouth to create that other worldliness to it.

Also, I listened to last week's episode and agree Phil is the comic relief.
