Not enough for me to want to replace my PS5's but I've been meaning to buy a 3rd one anyways.
I'll be getting one without a drive so I want to know what that looks like.

So the disc drive is integrated within the lower faceplate and there is a probably a plug-in dedicated connector on the main black unit?
If you don't want the disc drive there is probably an other completely flat flaceplate and it will look similar to the current PS5 DE.
Imo it looks good, it's also really close to the original design. It will give people the option to buy one at 399$ and keep the option to add the disc drive in the future if they find a good deal on the add-on drive.
Sony will unify production and lower costs.
All this assuming it's not a fake.
The unit seems hollow, he turns it around with a single hand as if it's super light.

People who are all against physical games.... you can get tons and tons of ps4 games for barely nothing and play them on ps5. physical is good.
I mean, I have doubts myself as I am thinking about moving to digital library. but I am only thinking about hat since I don't think next ps6 will have a disc drive at all

Maybe this is an empty dummy version they ship out to stores and for events like gsmescom etc. It looks light and hollow in the video but also high quality. So it's either a very good fake or a dummy shell.

Although it's more of a general reply I'm quoting you here in my response to why I believe this is 100% real.
I really don't get why people think this is fake when we know it's going to be releasing this fall so this new unit is literally being manufactured as we speak which means Sony can't contain all possible leaks from randos on the distribution chain. What we see from the video (those shells on each side that appear to be removable -- one is 100% for the detachable disc drive) also aligns with what Tom Henderson has been reporting for the past year or so...

Anyways the PS5 Slim looks really light, and much smaller than the regular one. The way he’s holding it with one hand like it’s nothing.
It looks way too cheap, maybe it’s some sort of display model? May explain the hollow screw hole.

Maybe it's real, but it is always healthy to wait for a few sources to clarify anything to support the story.
Right now we have one random guy from Australia guy who tried to charge money for video and the released it for clout.
PS4 slim, IIRC, leaked through a stolen warehouse unit via Gumtree.

Normally Slim models came with die shrinks but that´s nor the norm, now Shrinking the Die will Increase the Cost because of the death of moore´s law.
It's not that we think PS5+ launching in September is fake - just the specific images/video in question. The 'leakers' know all the same rumored info about the unit too.
Anyway maybe it is real - but it'd be much more believable if he showed the clip-on drive instead of the slitted covers that get people guessing what's going on. Of course - real or fake - the intention is to generate clicks, not sharing information, so we never get good info either way.

But the video also corroborates the info that was leaked from the Chinese forum which is linked in the OP... Still team real! The info in question surfaced just 12h ago so it's almost impossible for the dude who posted the video to make a fake shell.

Yeah, I don’t think this is any kind of actual upgrade, simply a new SKU.
There doesn’t seem to be any reason to buy this if you already have one, unless you’re really taken with the black slit.

Yeah Tom has been saying since like January not to expect a "slim" console.
Not that Sony has ever officially labeled any console "slim," but it's a bad expectation to be talking about it like that.

What happened to Sony hardware, they used to be great. Even the original PS4 was a solid design but ps5 is big and ugly in design, and the controller is even uglier.

Trimming down to 1 sku is the idea
Interestingly enough was at a local Best Buy today and they had stacks of PS5s everywhere and even had the last COD PS5 bundle in a giant pallet
So if Sony wants this new sku out soon they have a lot of product to move
Total side note they were completely out of Series X wondering if they are sitting on stock and about to push a Starfield bundle hard next few weeks
